I’m grateful— I’m finally done with the book. It did not live up to its promise & potential. It maybe half focuses on gratitude. There is some ableism & it is clearly from a privileged view making some of its advice un-relatable & even un-applicable to many. The biggest issue is the toxic positivity, which dominates over the gratitude focused content. It’s also unnecessarily repetitive. Practicing gratitude has been life changing for me & after reading another book in this series that was great I was excited to pick this one up. It didn’t take long for that excitement to become dread. There is some good advice & some truth, but in helping one truly understand & practice gratitude it unfortunately fails.
I loved reading this book. It was very uplifting and helped me to tune into my inner self, learning to give grace to others in my life. Meditating kept me centered. Life is not promised to anyone. We only have one shot to make the best of what God has given us. Thank you for your inspirations!
Thank you for the daily reminders of the many things that I have to be grateful for. Insightful, informative, motivational and inspiring. Gratitude lifts my spirit on my darkest days .
It was so good and impactful that I read it a second time during the same year - such wonderful advice and I read it right before bed - that helped me so very much! I am grateful for this book!
