When it comes to life’s fun and games, always know:
The rules.
What’s at stake.
When to quit.

Wise words from…well…my fortune cookie. But wise words, nonetheless.

I just wish the Fortune Cookie People had considered how hard the whole “knowing when to quit” would be to carry out when a woman like me is gambling with her feelings.

Heart-palpitating, vageen-tingling, butterflies

80% of the book is the MCs hooking up and the hero leaving before the h wakes up, then he confronts his feelings after making the h feel like shit, and they get together. The end.
They had a very superficial relationship, they talked about everything while saying nothing.
Not even the interactions with their respective families managed to save the book.

It was smuttier than other of their books, but I was better off reading Katee Roberts or Nikki Sloane.

Sophie + Jude.

We all remember Jude from previous books. (If you haven't read any Max Monroe books yet - don't worry, this is a standalone Rom-Com, but you should definitely read ALL THEIR BOOKS ASAP!)

Jude is a club promoter and he lives a very happy serial hook-up single guy life in New York City. No serious relationship dare come near him.

Sophie is the complete opposite. The event-wedding-planner is über focused on finding her happily ever after.

Jude should so not be the right guy for her - esp

This book is all about orgasms. New York and Vegas orgasms and maybe one or two a mile high in between.

Jude and Sophie are a 10+ in the steam department.

It all begins with the dedication. Yup you read that right. If you have never read Max Monroe dedications and author's notes you should.

"To the Girl Scouts: We're sorry. To orgasms: Holy moly, you showed up for this book. Not even Savannah Cummings (IYKYK) knows what to do with this many of you."

The Bet is a stand-alone Rom Com by the fabulous writing duo Max Monroe. Wes Lancaster, owner of the NY Mavericks pro-football team, was the hero in Scoring the Billionaire which is included in the Broody Billionaire Collection of three books. He married Winnie, and her four sexy single brothers–Jude, Remy, Ty, and Flynn, each get bitten by the love bug in this new Winslow Brothers series which is off to a great start.

Jude is our super hot, smart, smooth and swoony, as well as daring bachelor wh

Everyone needs a successful stud like Jude Winslow in their life! The Bet was a HOT, hilarious, and quite sinful romance that hooked me start to finish. I'm simply saying it was everything I could want and more from my favorite author duo!

This is a stand alone romance, however we've met Jude in a few previous novellas. The hype is real! Jude Winslow is sex on a stick; Sophie Sage needs a little walk on the wild side. When these two characters first meet, the sparks ignite! What was supposed to

Jude loves living in the moment, he likes to have fun, no strings attached. He lives the bachelor lifestyle. Sophie is a planner; I mean she even plans events for a living. She is full of sass and is focused, maybe too focused at times at finding her happily ever after.

Holy steam! This book is HOT. Jude and Sophie are steaming up the pages from the start. The physical chemistry between these two is off the charts, but their chemistry is much deeper than the physical side of things, there is som

This book is up there as one of the best Max Monroe books EVER! The ladies are writing GOLD this year, I tell you. Gold!

Jude Winslow is the ultimate player - never getting serious, never offering more than he's willing to offer. All fun, all the time.

Sophie is closed off from the world, from her family and needs to stop obsessing over what she doesn't have and open herself up to possibilities. With a little push from her therapist, she starts saying "yes" to what Jude offers and her eyes open w

I feel like I'm just broken at this point, but I just couldn't connect with the characters in the book. I do admit to shedding a few tears towards the end (pregnancy emotions are no joke people) but as a whole I just didn't see the hype of this book? All I kept hearing was how hilarious this was, and how steamy the sex scenes were, but despite the few chuckles i had (mainly from Jude's niece) I didn't laugh all that much, and the sex scenes were very repetitive. Maybe it was the fact that Jude w ...more

Oh my what a wonderful, entertaining read …..
Who would have thought we would ever meet a man to take over from my favourite man Thatch Kelly well this wonderful writing duo has given me a new man to swoon over and he goes by the name of Jude Winslow. I fell hard and fast for this man, he stole a big piece of my heart and I’m not sure I will ever get it back and I adored the woman who in turn brought him to his knees, Sophie.

5 star review The Bet by Max Monroe

It’s no secret to anyone who reads my reviews that I am a huge fan of Max Monroe. If I am in a funk and need a pick me up, all I have to do is pick up one of their books and my mood is lifted.

I was so excited when I learnt l that the Winslow brothers were going to get their own books. The Bet is one of my favourite reads of 2021 and I cannot express in words just how amazing this writing duo is. I fell hard and fast for Jude Winslow and the woman who brought h

Holy hot stuff, Max Monroe, what did I just read?! As a purveyor of Max Monroe’s romantic comedies, I know reading their books is going to be a real good time. Between fanning myself, swooning and howling with laughter, this author duo never fails to thoroughly entertain me. Their books are always high on the heat, but The Bet, the first book in their new Winslow Brothers series, is their hottest yet. Buckle up, romance readers, because you’re in for a wild time with this one.

The Bet is the first book in the new Winslow Brothers series. It is a standalone and ends with a HEA. It is written in first person from an alternating dual POV. In addition to Jude and Sophie’s perspectives, we are treated to one chapter from the perspective of Jude’s brother, Flynn. It is set in New York City and readers will recognize cameos from previous books written by this author duo.

Everything about The Bet by Max Monroe was spontaneous, smexy, entertaining and down right a page turner. The characters Jude and Sophie chemistry was off the hook! And don't get me started on the humor intertwined throughout the book. I cant wait to read about the other brothers!! Hated the hero

I don't know about you, but a 36-year-old, commitment-phobic playboy who makes women doubt their self worth, doesn't stick around long enough to leave a phone number, never promises exclusivity, and has zero interest in developing an emotional connection... is not appealing to me. That's the biggest problem with this otherwise scorching hot romance. It's a return to vintage MM, with a focus on steam, chemistry and no over the top comedy - which I love. But I hated this hero, from s

The Bet deserves not five stars but five O’s for OMG this couples chemistry is off the charts! (what did you think I was going to say?). Jude Winslow is the first book of the infamously rowdie Winslow Brothers. Max Monroe, you set the bar high starting with Jude. He is crazy, sexy, sarcastic, funny, and cannot turn down a bet. That is how he comes to meet Sophie Sage. I love reading first meetings with a couple and this has to be one of the sexiest most original first meetings I’ve ever read.

4.5-loved it stars!

The Bet by Max Monroe is the first book in a new series and will give us the Winslow Brothers. Though they are characters we have met and/or heard of before, this can be read as a standalone. Like other books by this amazing writing duo, this one was fun, steamy and just a delightful read. In this book we have Jude and Sophie, who are complete opposites and yet somehow fit. Jude is sexy and charming and determined to stay away from serious relationships. Sophie is the girl lo

I’ve been waiting for this book, and it did not disappoint! The Winslow brothers were a particular highlight in Wes and Winnies book, and getting to see their stories is the best! Jude was one of my favourites, he’s a charming, fun, always a happy life of the party type guy who wasn’t planning on ever settling down. Seeing the connection he had with Sophie from the start was just 🔥. This book has laughs, chemistry, heart.. and of course scenes from some of the old school faves including Thatch! ...more

There is a prequel Gotta Have Fate, read first!

Jude is a fun, spontaneous, and has sworn off committed relationships and marriage after his older brother was left at the alter years earlier. Sophie is the complete opposite. She won't even date men that don't check off every box on her "husband" checklist.
When they meet at Sophie's twin sisters bachelorette party, there is instant chemistry between them. What starts out as fun, quickly turns into something more. Sophie falls hard for Jude, even

From the moment you meet Jude you can not help falling for him. And that is exactly what happened to Sophie. And what a fantastic way these two met, lol. Only Max Monroe could come up with this kind of sexy, HOT meet-cute. Even though Sophie has hang ups when it comes to dating she goes all in for Jude because he is offering her fun and not a relationship. She needs to just go with the flow and not have to plan everything that comes her way. And Jude is definitely not a planner. Jude and Sophie ...more

Oh holy hotness! This was a great read! I think possibly even Max Monroe's steamiest one yet. While this is a rom-com standalone, it wasn't as funny as previous Max Monroe books. Nothing wrong with that either, just an observation I noticed. It was sweet, sexy, and had some funny moments to keep me happy.

Jude is HOT. He's alpha, funny, charming, sexy, sweet, and loves a good bet.

Sophie is sweet, loving, and wanting to find her HEA.

All in all, this was a fabulous read and I can't wait to read mo

I loved this book so much! I have been (not so) patiently waiting for the Winslow brothers books, since Max Monroe’s OG Billionaire trilogy (Billionaire Bad Boys) released. And I was not disappointed! Baby brother Jude is first up, and wow this is a spicy book. I loved the banter, the chemistry and the little pops of sweet mixed into the spice. Sophie was a strong female lead and I loved watched her character grow and come more into herself through the book. And flirty Jude, whew! He was fun and ...more

I don't normally do reviews for DNFcases. But what 15% I have read compelled me to mention. This was a palette cleanser which turned to be an Icky_Disaster (ID™)

The male MC was cocky, immature and frankly short on gray cells. He is a pro for casual relationship.
I don't have a problem with that. In fact, many of my previous reads have that.
I have a problem with his attitude. His thoughts. A huge problem . 🙄Personally,I would recommend Brain_Bleach_Therapy (BBT™) after reading going through this

*An advance reading copy was provided to me in exchange for an honest review.*

This book brought the world of Max Monroe up another steamy notch. And it was all started by a bet. Gorgeous, too-handsome-for-his-own-good, carefree and living his life on his own terms, Jude Winslow bet a dancer at the club his company is helping to promote that he could bring in more money dancing for that night’s bachelorette party than Maverick could. Then Jude met the bride-to-be. He was instantly attracted to he

Sophie wasn't looking for love or even a fling when she pretended to be something she wasn't. But she found one while chasing the other, and it ended up changing the course of her life.

Of course, Jude was pretending, too. And no matter how good it was with Sophie, no matter how many of his own rules he broke when it came to her, Jude kept pretending to be someone he wasn’t: a cold-hearted, love ‘em and leave ‘em kind of guy.

Pretending was bound to hurt when their hearts were on the line. Their

Jude is living the high life with his promotional club business, until he meets Sophie. She impresses him with her beauty and her innocence. He begins to pursue her and they begin a relationship of just fun.
