Frederick Dodson is becoming my favorite author! I love his approach for explaining topics, that seem very complex at first, but when you know where to look it turns out it's easy. For example he explains learning in the following way: you become aware of something, you weren't aware before. To learn you need to invest time and focus. And focus i fueled by interest/desire. This simple explanation on a topic that affects one of the most important areas of life.
About this book I read it on one sitting and didn't went trough the course as I was curious to understand more about the topic, before I commit to it. I still don't know which language to choose but maybe it will be German. The 5 day course seems very interesting and fun, and I even giggled as I read some of the exercises.
I like the chapter on the relative learning difficulty of many of the most popular current languages. This book adds to what I gained from another language comparison book.
This was fun, and short. I just conceptualized it, and thought about what I would do different if I had to go to a foreign country again. I thought about how to apply it to other areas of life, and learning. I hope to use this one day to learn the basics.
