Who knew love was an item up for grabs?

♥Olivia ♥

For once in my life I have a weekend to myself. No little sisters, no job, just me, visiting an old friend, celebrating Valentine’s day, and pretending I’m a carefree college student. Hungry for adventure, I’m spending my last night of freedom attending Lust and Found: A Blind Date Scavenger Hunt. I was hoping to get paired with a carefree hottie. But, instead I’m stuck with an uptight, straight-laced, stick in the mud. At least the hottie part is still in place.

♥ Eric ♥

I’m a music major, a future recording engineer, and I should be in the studio working. Instead I’m participating in this silly game because my friends think it’s time for me to hook up with a girl, any girl. They can’t understand the pressure and responsibility I feel to succeed. My parents think that compared to science or math, music is a joke, so I have to prove myself a talent beyond measure. But you can’t turn down your friends every time they ask, so now, I’m burdened with this sparkling sprite of a woman. She's got lavender hair and an irritatingly joyful personality. There’s just something about her, I can’t seem to look away.

💖 You Rock de Lola West Serie Sweet Hearts libro 3💖

Argumento:

Hambrienta de aventuras, pasaré mi última noche de libertad asistiendo a Lust and Found: A Blind Date Scavenger Hunt.

One night can change your life. Pretending to be someone different can be exhilarating. Shedding your inhibitions can change your world. At the heart of this story is the idea that getting out of your head and experiencing what life has to offer is priceless.

Fred and Ginger are two strangers with fake names embarking on a Valentine’s themed blind date scavenger hunt with lust as it’s intent. Now add in a dirty talking virgin and a girl who desires to be free of responsibility, if only for one night, and the adventure is unforgettable.

This book was in no way a cute and corny holiday read. This was everything you would want in a blind date romance morphing from incorrect preconceptions to insightful conversations, and dirty, intense, mind blowing sex.

And right when I thought it was over and slightly upset, the damn story speared me in the heart and brought me to tears!! I’m over the moon with excitement for the new series “With the Band” and cannot wait for more.

Don’t forget to get your hands on the bonus epilogue, you won’t want to miss it!!

⚠️ NOTE • 2.6.2021 — I find it disheartening that people feel the need to bash a book simple because it did not have a HEA. I find it refreshing that not all books have a ‘riding off into the sunset, fully in baby making love mode’ now days. Because guess what, not everything in real life comes up roses all-the-time!!

Also, the author does have a warning in her book description that’s clear as day what the book will be:
“Fair Warning: This book is a HFN - a prequel to Lola West's With the Band series - and Olivia and Eric will meet again.”

And that BONUS EPILOGUE that she offers provides us with hope and a glimpse into the future of her new series. If you have read her Big Sky Cowboys series you know what the future holds for many of the band members and I for one am extremely excited for more.

I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Lola West writes short, sweet, smart, silly, sexy romance. With a Ph.D. in women's studies and a flair for the dramatic, Lola likes to keep it real.

“She was what happened when you crossed the girl next door with a fairy princess, only in jeans.”

Eric is serious about his work. He’s going to school for music, and he and his group of friends take what they do very seriously. When the group practically bullies Eric into joining a Valentine’s Day scavenger hunt slash blind date, he goes but doesn’t expect much. Until he spots a pretty woman with lavender-colored hair. Olivia has a full plate. But she has one weekend truly for herself. She drags her best friend to a blind date scavenger hunt. What could be more fun than spending the evening with a stranger- while in a strange city and pretending to be everything you aren’t?

First, I love that this is the backstory of Horse and his journey to how he became the man we all fell in love with within Imperfect Harmony. I love that we are getting to see how life was before. And I like Eric. He is smart, kind, passionate, talented, and determined not to let anything distract him from being the best sound engineer possible.

Until he gets matched with a pretty woman with lavender hair and a sweet smile, suddenly all he wants to do is see if she tastes as sweet as she looks. This is such a different style for Lola. Her books are usually happily ever after, and we do not get that here.

I love the characters. And I am so excited to get to know them all as this series continues. I am also looking forward to the epilogue to this story cause I have to know! This is truly the perfect book to read for Valentine's Day- even if you don’t have a date.

Curl up with a story that will draw you in and make you swoon. You will feel the full range of emotions with this one, which is entirely on-brand for Ms. Lola. I look forward to getting to know Olivia and her life.

This is an excellent start to what is sure to be a super-steamy series. The sexy scenes in this book were intense. Lola kicked the heat up a couple of notches! So if you like steamy, sweet, sad, and real- this is the book for you.

The idea of this story is cute and not something that I’ve read before. The plot of the story takes place over one night and follows Olivia and Eric (using names Ginger and Fred) on a Valentine’s Day themed scavenger hunt. They are paired up and have to create an Instagram and do specific activities and post about it using a hashtag to collect points.

This didn’t really feel like an enemies to lovers theme to me. Eric felt annoyed at Olivia for about 2.5 seconds and then started to like her. And Olivia was kinda put off by Eric’s grumpy attitude at first but changed her opinion shortly after pairing up with him.

So they do the activities, they have lots of chemistry, and Eric loses his virginity to Olivia. But their “relationship” is only meant to last for the one night because Olivia doesn’t live in the city and is determined to help care for her twin sisters, so she doesn’t see things going anywhere.

Also add in the fact that they gave each other fake names.

The story ends when the scavenger hunt ends... and that’s all. No epilogue, but I guess this is a prequel to a new series so maybe we’ll see them later on. There was an option to see what Eric and Olivia were up to with a bonus scene by signing up with the author’s newsletter or whatever, but I didn’t feel super invested in these 2 characters together so I didn’t really care either way.

So this story was just eh for me. I wasn’t feeling it, but I honestly think it was just me. The writing was good so I’m sure other people will enjoy it more than I did.

I’d probably give this a 2.5⭐️ or so.

Both Eric and Olivia are usually weighed down by responsibilities and obligations, but on the night of a Valentine’s scavenger heart they are free to let go of them and be carefree or even wild for one night. Eric feels the burden of parental disappointment for his choice of education and future career in music. He has been dragged along by his friends to this event and really doesn’t want to participate. But a sprite with lavender hair catches his attention. Olivia has scrimped and save for her respite of a few days away from the responsibility of caring for her younger siblings. She is more than eager to be carefree and wild for the night. An attractive, super intense and rather off putting guy (Eric) is staring at her constantly. Of course, he ends up as her partner for the night. They don’t give each other their real names, and while she is out to have fun, he is set on winning the scavenger hunt. Their night becomes a series of surprises (some sensual), unexpected glimpses of the real person behind the fake facade, hilarity and exploration. Strangely enough, throughout the evening they switch off between being carefree and very intense. The end result is both Olivia and Eric are forever changed by one seemingly innocuous Valentine’s scavenger hunt.

This book is funny, poignant and deliciously sexy. I can’t wait to read more about Olivia and Eric. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

This book was way more fun than I was expecting. I went into it knowing it does not have an HEA, but is a prequel the new rockstar series that Lola West is writing. This book falls before the Big Sky Cowboys and during Horse's college years. The story centers around Eric (aka Fred) who is a sound engineer and a virgin. He and his bandmates/friends sign up for a valentines day blind date scavenger hunt. Olivia (aka Ginger) is in town visiting her best friend and looking for some fun that reminds her she is in her 20s and can be carefree, instead of the responsible adult she is putting her life on hold to help her mom raise her twin sisters.

Fred and Ginger decide that for one night they are going to have fun, be wild and carefree and mysterious- by not revealing identifying personal details. This book gave me all the butterflies. Fred is not your nervous virgin he is definitely a possessive alpha, dark and growly. Ginger is all sunshine and light and she instantly warms him. I hope I dont have to wait too long for more musicians from Lola West, because this book definitely wet my appetite, and not just for cannoli.

I received an ARC of this book and voluntarily give my honest review.

Looking for a sweet but hot short read that will leave you wanting more? Look no further. “You Rock” by Lola West is going to leave you satisfied but wanting more.

Eric and Olivia, using fake names, Fred and Ginger, go on a blind date scavenger hunt through the city. They have different tasks that they can complete to get points when they post it on Instagram. The two go around the city and have an instant connection. The outgoing girl with the purple hair pairing up with the serious virgin who’s focused on work. They have a fun meet cute and the chemistry between them is undeniable. Why can’t my blind dates end up like theirs?

I love how this is a spin off/prequel of my beloved Big Sky Cowboys series. I loved the confident but vulnerable Olivia. Eric was super dreamy as a confident but compassionate virgin. The two are such a good mix and are a cute couple, even if it’s for only one night. The steamy scenes are kindle melting good.

The book ends with a happy for now. I’m impatiently but patiently waiting for the start of the next series. This is a great novella into the next world Lola is currently creating.

Eric and Olivia...ahhh they are my favorite. This story is amazing, fun, hot and beautiful.

They meet at a Valentine’s Day party where people are partnered up. They keep their real identities hidden from each other and come up with names that they use throughout the evening. Their adventure lead to a night full of adventure, mystery and firsts for both of them. Eric is honest and open with his life but Olivia is very guarded and doesn’t share her ‘real life’ with him. Eric comes out of his shell, doing and saying things that are new to him. I’m still fanning myself!

I can’t wait for this story to continue!

Lola certainly knows how write characters that I fall in love with and want to know more about.
Olivia and Eric are a fast, fun, delightful read with a bit of sexy!
Olivia is in town visiting a friend for a carefree weekend from her duties at home. What better way to have some fun than a contest. Eric is suckered by his friends to attend a match maker scavenger hunt event. Who knew a cute sassy lavender haired gal would catch his eye and end up being his partner for the hunt.
This couple had so much energy and chemistry. What a fantastic adventure with this couple as they check off their list and just enjoy one another. I cannot wait to find out more about them!

Funny and emotional

I don’t know the last time I smiled so much reading just to have my chest clutch with emotion several chapters later.
The storytelling of these two very different yet so similar characters was magical. The funny... the sweet... the heartfelt anguish... I don’t think I have highlighted so many lines in a romance book before because it was just so gosh darn good!
This story ends in a HFN, with an epilogue, and the fantastic Lola West has promised another book. If you need me, I’ll be refreshing my Kindle anxiously waiting.

Oh Eric you stole my heart

When lavender haired beauty Olivia bounces into town like she has no care in the world it immediately irritates the always rational Eric but when there forced together in order to win a valentines day scavenger hunt (that is laugh out loud funny btw) Eric learns more about her and there chemistry exploads...and so does he ;) they have an epic night but thats all they can have...at least for now...

Olivia was totally relatable. Who doesn’t want to step out of their life for a bit from time to time? I loved the way that Olivia and Eric were able to let go through their anonymity and bring out the best of each other, if only for one night. They didn’t have to be who their realities made them be. They could let loose and be themselves. It was absolutely wonderful. I loved their story from beginning to end. I can’t wait to see where they end up.

"You Rock" by Lola West was a sweet yet steamy novella featuring college-aged strangers who met during a Valentine's Day blind date scavenger hunt and spent one magical night exploring Boston together. For Olivia (aka Ginger), it was a night out of time, separate from her real life which was full of unwanted responsibilities. For Eric (aka Fred), it was a chance to let go of his natural inhibitions and share a few of his secrets with someone who wouldn't judge or criticize him.

Olivia and Eric's chemistry was immediately apparent, and I enjoyed their flirty, witty banter over the course of the story. I could tell that their connection was genuine even after such a short amount of time together, and the bittersweet ending when they were forced to go their separate ways, trusting in serendipity or fate to bring them back together when the time was right, was surprisingly emotional.

Overall, I really enjoyed and would recommend "You Rock" for fans of contemporary romance and romantic comedy. I can't wait for the continuation of Eric and Olivia’s story in Lola West's upcoming series, With the Band (coming later in 2021).

Hmmmmmm????

I don't know what to write about this book......I liked the story line, I loved all the characters including the secondary ones. It was unique and refreshing and I gave it a 5 star rating even though I didn't get to read their hea. However with the rating I assumed that I would get answers in the bonus epiloge and was surprised that I did not in fact get answers just more grief and angst. I wanted to read about them finding each other again and making it work instead I get something sad and heart breaking if I'm honest. I lowered my rating to 3 stars because of that. If I would have got a actual ending to their love story it would have been a 5 star review hands down.

4.5 star rating.

Eric has decided to spend Valentine’s Day with his friends doing a scavenger hunt against his better judgement. His choice would be to work on his music, but he realizes he needs to be more involved and agrees.

Olivia is having a carefree weekend away from her life and wants to have the perfect night so she can look back when she’s struggling in her daily life.

Of course they get paired for the hunt and spend the time getting to know themselves and each other.

This is the beginning to a new series by Lola West and I can’t wait to get into all of their stories.

Olivia is bright and bubbly with her lavender colored hair. Eric is very serious and all about work. They are as opposite as they come. Eric and Olivia meet at a blind date scavenger hunt. Using fake names they go around town competing tasks for the scavenger hunt. Even though they are total opposites, they develop an immediate connection. This is a sweet read and the cliffhanger had me yelling “that’s it!!” Can’t wait for the next book...

Cute Insta love of the night read

Fun cute quick read! Olivia has many responsibilities helping out her mom and sister so she decides she needs a night for her, what better way than pairing up with a stranger for a blind date scavenger hunt right? Eric is into his studies, intense in staying on his path for his career, fun times aren't his thing but his friends talk him into the Valentine's scavenger hunt. Born in Fred and Ginger, two strangers having a good time together and a deep connection. But is it destined to be only one night?

Not happy with the ending at all

I almost rated this 2 stars because I was so disappointed at the end! Then I saw a link to a bonus epilogue and thought, thank goodness!! But ...nope! Even that still left me feeling incomplete. I guess I spend so much time in "the real world" I like my romance books to have happy endings. I really enjoyed the story but the ending ruined it and I almost wish I wouldn't have read it. I hope her other books don't have this type of 'ending' because it totally leaves me feeling mad for lack of a better word.

One Valentine’s Day event.
Two beautiful, but burdened, souls.
Add a chemistry that’s explosive.
In less than 12 hours, they’ll rock each other’s very different worlds.

This book has all the feels: the sadness, the sweetness, the heat.

YOU ROCK is the prequel to Lola’s much anticipated new series, ‘With The Band’, centred on friendship, life, love and loss.

Can a night change you forever? Olivia needs a night out only for herself. Eric’s friends are set for him to lose his virginity. When they me to in an scavenger hunt, they are paired to work together. They are only going to share this one night and they are going to make the best of it but they never New that the experience will mark them forever. Great story.

Loved

Lola is quickly becoming a favorite author for me. I love her writing, her characters are so relatable and someone the situations they find themselves in are wonderful. This is another book that I'm so glad to have read. Eric and Olivia are both not relationship ready for different reasons, but could they have found love after one night of scavenger hunting? Make sure you read the bonus epilogue! I cannot wait to read more about these characters.
