If you haven't read it yet, their PENALTY BOX series is in my opinion the best hockey romance series.

DESPAIR HAS ITS OWN CALMS - 25 pages:
Daniel, a exhausted human vampire hunter, looses a fight with a vampire (Mike) who turns him and at the same time, turns his world upside down.
Gory and violent. Terrific writing.


HEARTS ON THE HILL - 55 pages:
This novella is very different from Ari Baran's other work. It's light and sweet, no trauma to work through, just two lovely hockey players, Brandon and Isak, getting closer.
Can be read as a standalone.
Awesome comfort reread.


WOULD YOU PROMISE TO BE KIND - 193 pages:
Set years before the Penalty Box series, but to be read after GOALTENDER INTERFERENCE as it features Aiden and Matt's earlier years together. Beautiful and heartwarming, the perfect addition to Goaltender Interference.


WHAT A WEDDING DATE - 70 pages:
Makes most sense if read after the Penalty Box series. It's set 5 years after the end of HOME ICE ADVANTAGE and gives a glimpse at future Eric and Ryan and is also about two young players on Eric and Ryan's team who we met as side characters in Home Ice Advantage (Caleb Cook and Kai Williams).
Loved it a lot.


ALMOST WAS GOOD ENOUGH - 45 pages:
The author says it's a draft and might not be made into a book, but honestly? It felt perfect. That is, if you like to suffer with Rafaël (it's single pov) because of his disappointing career in hockey and his unrequited love for Oli. Oli who was selfish and hurtful years ago, and now nearly 10 years after their last encounter, acts as if everything was normal. Until Rafaël snaps and finally they are honest with each other.
Heartbreaking and depressing, but it ends on a hopeful and positive note.
Can be read as a standalone.

This somewhat unique take of a transmigration story managed to hit all the right feels with me. The main couple start off as enemies (cultivator vs his inner demon), but stop antagonizing each other and accompany each other through thick and thin instead. They’re so soft with each other. The transmigration part is also well explained. Highly recommended!

Prince Heng (Li Jiu) (MC) is a naïve prince who was ordered by the Emperor to marry General Chu Pingyun (ML) who became disabled after a battle went wrong.
I found it a bit choppy in places and thought that the ML was manipulative towards our cinnamon roll MC.
I don’t think the ‘marriage of convenience’ trope was done well. The art was lovely though and I really liked the side characters.
I can’t say I’m too bothered about not finishing this one.

Started off really bonkers and wasn’t too sure if I liked it at first. But once Chao Yi (MC) and the 7th Prince Yunheng confessed they were BOTH transmigrators then it became really interesting. Especially when they both started working together to find out who killed off the original ‘Chao Yi’.
The romance is a slow burn and believable. I got really confused with who all the side characters were but that didn’t dampen my enjoyment. It’s a shame that we won’t ever have the ending for this one.

Hundun/Lan is the demon king who was lovers with the God of Spring in a previous life and they were torn apart and killed by the Heavens. The God of Spring was then reincarnated into a moral called Lord Yeli who has forgot his memories and the story is about how they both reconnect after hundreds of years.

Ok so the title is cringe but this gives serious TGCF vibes so I really enjoyed it. Really tragic and I loved all the characters and plot. I stopped reading when it ended on sad note. Definitely will need tissues if you ever pick this up.
