Strange concepts lead to truth
I must admit that I have not read a book, aimed at this age group, for nearly 65 years. The writing seems somewhat advanced for a 9 year old of my era, which means that it is probably appropriate for a 9 year old of current times. There are less than 10 main characters, some of which drop off in the middle only to be re-introduced near the conclusion. I highlighted some of the writing as important points to re-read carefully in order to incorporate them into my own life. Unique, revelatory, calming. Recommended for all ages.

This is a short book about the devastation of the planet that both the child and adult will learn from. It is beautifully written and illustrated and has a message that resonates ... sad but with a touch of optimism at the end. I was really surprised at how it effected me.

I got this book through a Goodreads giveaway. This is a great story with awesome illustrations. I think this book should be recommended to later elementary age kids who are starting to read longer books. The illustrations will help hold the readers attention.
