I like the story, a kind of age-gap Romeo/Juliet thing. However, there are things that just don't make sense that are driving me crazy. How can this guy be here a year and never showered. I mean, yes, it can happen, but heck he would probably have pressure ulcers at this point. How is it he's guarded 24/7, to the point she needs to fill in for the guard, but the next thing you know she's let him go and they're going into town for dinner. Why does her mom tell her don't go into the barn because the prisoner is in there and you should stay away and then she now has a complete apartment, IN THE BARN! Fix the logic issues and this story could be 5 stars.

This a great start to the second generation of the Reaper’s Rejects.
Sydney and Gears should never had met, let alone fall in love with each other.this causes problems all the way around.
The problems started when Boomer, Gears old President started crap with the Reapers, and a gun battle was started, Gears, whose only crime was trying to protect his president, was almost shot by said president, and left to face the wrath of the Reapers Rejects.
Fists fly, sparks fly and chaos runs rampant, but their love stays true and strong, and in the end it frees them.

Gears of on a mission with his prez. They are members of Corrupt Kings MC, Unfortunately once his Prez sees his sister he tries to change up the deal. Then he goes crazy. He does one of the Reapers Rejects MC member's. Gears of shit and his Prez is ready to shoot Gears but then leaves. A year later Gears is still a prisoner of the Reaper's. They want info but he has none to give since his Prez never told his club what he planned out anything. He is chained to wood beams in an old barn. One day the Prez of the Reaper's, Zane, comes in with a couple of other people. Sydney is celebrating her birthday and is taken to the barn upstairs where her family has made her a recording studio and a mini apartment. As she goes up she sees Gears. She doesn't time talking to him knowing her dad wouldn't like it. She doesn't believe that her dad could keep a person like he has Gears. When she learns how he got caught she decides to do something about it. She helps him and they become friends. They slowly become more although he knows she's forbidden not only because she's Zane's daughter but she is too young for him. Sydney find herself battling her family and her emotions. Will she win the fight or lose something beautiful?
A story of love and reluctance.

Sydney is all grown up now and she has a mind of her own. However, what she went through as a kid and losing her parents and another father figure growing she definitely sees a different outlook on life. Yes Zane is her father, he adopted her and raised her as his own. Zane has taught her well, that is for sure. Now she has graduated school and decided not to go to college and to focus on her music. One night though she was asked to keep an eye on the prisoner. The prisoner being Gears the VP of a now rival club. She talks to him and learns his story and she decides to help him. Now this is where is gets risky cause we know that Zane is going to lose his mind. That is exactly what happens. Gears can't help but to fall for her and she is so nice to him. This could be his second chance in life or death sentence for sure. Will Sydney lay it all on the line for him? Will Gears just use her and be gone and back to his club? I definitely did not see this coming. I figured Sydney would have chosen a different path but nope she toes the line. Will there be a happy ending? You need to read this amazing story to find out.

Something Worth Fighting For

Gears was VP of his club and all was well until his Prez not only left him behind at another club after a gunfight but he was also willing to put a gun to Gears’ head to kill him. If it wasn’t for Reapers MC firing back at his Prez Gears would be dead now. Instead he is tied to a post in the barn waiting to see what his outcome is. He knows he can’t really escape because his old club would be there to put a bullet in his head.

Sydney is Zane’s daughter who is the Prez of the Reapers MC and he loves his daughter dearly. Now that she has graduated and wants to live out her dreams Zane and her mother and her other father are there to make sure her dreams come true. They made an apartment and a recording studio for her on the top floor of the barn…yes the very same barn that Gears is being held in.

You’ll have to read to see where loyalties lie and to what extent will be gone to in order to prove that you are worthy of something possibly unattainable.

This is the first book of this spinoff series and can be read as a standalone. The story is told in dual first person POV and leaves you with a HEA. It isn’t necessary to read the original series before this spinoff, but I think I would’ve enjoyed it more if I would’ve read the previous series.

Sydney had a hard life growing up. But I loved that she found her safe space in the arms of Gears. Even if it was very unconventional…or safe for them to be together. I loved his protectiveness over her and his willingness to prove he belonged.

Although I didn’t read the first generation, I still enjoyed this book and can’t wait to read more of the series. I will definitely read the first generation books first though. I received an advanced readers copy via Booksprout. These thoughts and opinions are my own.

Gears has been a prisoner of the Reapers Rejects since he came with his President, Boomer, from Corrupt Kings to deliver a woman who had done the club wrong...then Boomer sees his sister Cheyenne, who wasn't interested in his club, at home with a partner and member of Zane's club and starts shooting...Gears is wounded, Boomer starts to shoot him, but is shot at and leaves, with wounded Gears left behind as a prisoner. Its been quite a while and he is still there, being guarded by Zane and his men...until it was "all hands on deck" and Sydney had to watch him...they talked and she realized that he wasn't a bad guy, just a regular guy caught up in a mess because of Boomer, and so much older than she is...but on 18th birthday she goes out with friends and comes back to barn where she now has apartment and music studio for her birthday from Zane and Octavia. A man had hit on her at bar, wanted to walk her to car, then attacked when she said no...so Sydney had busted lip and bruises...Gears saw her and offered to patch her up, but she forgot and left his hands untied after he was finished, earning him another beating from Zane...but is he sincere in caring about Sydney or is it a ploy like Zane believes....you will need to read the story to see what happens...I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Gears - Corrupt Kings MC

MC have reputations to uphold. Alliances also are forged between clubs for reasons. The Corrupt Kings were doing a job for the Reapers Rejects MC. It all became havoc leading to mistrust to a man left behind by his Prez - Gears. His Prez would have preferred him dead, but failed.

Moving along, prisoner - interrogation, threats, bodily harm (usual within a club) but what happens next?
Is Gears entering a ‘death trap?’ What Sydney is doing for him may cost him his life. But what about Sydney? Is her sincerity going to place a target on her? What will her MC think of her, what will her Prez/Dad think of her? Will he accept what is going on?

Loyalties may be questioned, new bonds will surface, what sacrifice will Gears take upon himself to prove to Syd’s Prez/Dad? Things one does for love.

No cliffhanger, but most certainly opens the door for the next read. War within the MC is evident. What will be the outcome, only I’ve will tell.

Sydney’s Battle wasn’t what I was expecting. The daughter of Zane & Octavia + Inc. Yes, a little confusing but also not the biological daughter.

A note for readers who don’t appreciate the slang, derogatory names, abuse etc, please do not read as it is very disrespectful to authors who have put their time and family hours to do what they love and that is writing for readers and fans to enjoy.

I thoroughly enjoy MC reads and Elizabeth knows how to bring forth drama and expectations. She doesn’t concentrate on 1 MC but a few. They are crossovers due to family members, so you are still in the know.
Strictly do need to read in order to understand characters. Yes, this is a new chapter mention of relatives make their appearance. Hot, sweaty, naughty, criminal, erotic it’s all here. 🔥

Told from dual first person perspectives (Sydney and Gears) SYDNEY’S BATTLE follows in the aftermath of a shoot out at the Reaper’s Rejects MC club house. Approximately one year earlier, Gears and Boomer of the Corrupt Kings MC were tasked with returning a member of the Reaper’s Rejects MC when Boomer looses control, and a gunfight ensues. Left on his own, Gears becomes a prisoner of the Reaper’s Rejects MC, a prisoner who is about to fall in love with the Club President’s daughter but a year of abuse under the guise of demanding information finds Gears struggling to accept the woman that is about to be his ticket to freedom. Enter Sydney, an aspiring singer, and the woman with whom Gears will fall in love. Still a prisoner, Gears will have to prove himself first to Sydney, then to her father, a man who is willing to forgive when someone targets his daughter.

The world building follows the building but forbidden relationship between our story line couple. Gears is a prisoner having been caught in the crossfire of his former ‘brother’s’ madness, and for all intents and purposes, everyone he knew, thought he was dead. Befriending Sydney, Gears would gain a little bit of freedom, freedom that brings the couple closer together.

The relationship between Gears and Sydney is a forbidden romance. Sydney struggles to understand her father’s need to keep Gears prisoner, and over the weeks and months, Sydney becomes an ally when Gears needs it the most. The $ex scenes are intimate and provocative.

We are reintroduced to several members of the Reaper’s Rejects MC including club president Zane, Inc and Octavia, Sydney’s ‘parents’.

SYDNEY’S BATTLE is a story of betrayal and vengeance, power and control, family and acceptance. The fast paced premise is intriguing but Sydney and Gears’ ability to fly under the radar for so long was unbelievable. The romance was passionate; the characters were desperate and determined.

Finally Gears comes out of the barn in this Age-Gap Romance. Gears has been a prisoner of the Reapers Rejects MC for the past 2 years, and mention has been made of his presence there in many of Elizabeth Knox's recent chapters in this ongoing saga. We've watched Sydney grow up ever since Fist died in one of the earliest Reapers stories. And now she's an adult with a soft spot for Gears and making her adoptive father Zane finally do the right thing. The relationship between Gears and Sydney starts out with her just wanting him to be treated with some kindness while he is the Reapers captive, but quickly grows into chemistry developing between them. Sydney even facilitates the reunion of Gears with his daughter Tara, who Zane ensured was brought closer to them so he could protect her from Gears' old Prez Boomer, who shot Bull at the Reapers clubhouse 2 years ago. Boomer has been poking his head up in recent chapters of this ongoing tale, so I am expecting to see the situation with the Corrupt Kings MC resolve soon.

More breadcrumbs to other chapters in this epic tale include the reappearance of Bellamy Mason, Elena's sister, who married Butch in Relentless: Skulls Renegade MC. She's a famous pop star who performed with the Stones, and I'm hoping to soon see that band get their own stories! And we had a quick visit with Sydney's aunt Sakura, heroine of Mouser: Reapers Rejects, who has some fantastic news to share.

One minor flaw in this chapter is that the Reapers Prospect, Poison is listed in the character list at the beginning of this book as belonging to the Las Vegas Chapter of the Reapers MC, but here she is in Billings getting in Sydney's face about sticking up for Gears. It's not a big issue, but a good continuity editor may have caught that small error.

Overall, a fabulous story, and I really cannot wait to see what happens next!

I am a sucker for 2nd generation MC series. Not only is it great to read about the kids but it’s a great way to catch up with the men and their ole ladies that I fell in love with in the original series. That said I have to give a Big Kudos to Ms. Knox for her 2nd Generation Reapers Reject MC series. If you read the original series you met Sydney. She was a young girl that had lived and seen way too much for any kid before she was adopted by Zane (the club Prez) and his ole lady and Inc (the 3rd in their marriage). Being the child of this amazing trio, Sydney has grown up into a strong, independent young woman who takes no lip from anyone, who knows and speaks her own mind (often to her own detriment). We also met Gears, a rival club member who has been held captive by the Reapers in their barn for years. Sydney has always stayed away from the barn (at her father’s orders) but when her father has no free men and asks her to sit and keep an eye on Gears, Sydney’s life turns inside out. She knows her father is a tough man who does things to protect the club and what’s his but how can her father treat another human being like this? Sydney can’t believe they don’t show the least amount of human kindness towards Gears and Lord help her after she talks to this older sexy man. The more she’s around him the more she battles with what her heart says is right and what her father demands Gears is.

Sydney’s Battle is an absolutely amazing read. It’s a sexy, coming of age, age gap MC romance that you don’t want to miss. Grab it up now.

Sydney and Gears

They are a perfect introduction for the next generation of Reapers Rejects! Sydney is a strong, independent young woman who isn’t intimidated by the rough bikers she’s been raised around.

Gears is a prisoner, left behind by his conniving former Prez. He’s resigned himself to remaining a captive of the Reapers Rejects. His only demand, keep his daughter safe from any retaliation.

A chance meeting brings Sydney and Gears together. Not willing to disrupt the truce he has with Sydney’s father to protect his own daughter, Gears passes up several opportunities to escape. Instead, he finds himself enjoying Sydney’s sassy mouth and independence, the giving way she cares for him.

He’ll do more than just look out for her. Gears will do whatever it takes to prove to Sydney and her family that he is completely devoted to her.

Sydney’s Battle is the first book in the Reapers Rejects MC: Second Generation series. Sydney’s Battle is a phenomenal MC romance book which I completely enjoyed reading and in my opinion this book is a fantastic addition to the MC romance genre. I have read multiple MC romance books by Author Elizabeth Knox and each book I was thoroughly captivated with each book’s storyline, characters, and the outcomes for the main characters of the stories. Sydney’s Battle follows the story of Sydney and Gears who are quite interesting and intriguing at the same time. The chemistry between Gears and Sydney is undeniable, electrifying, and as well as smoldering hot. The chemistry between Gears and Sydney becomes too much for them to ignore their feelings for one another. Sydney’s Battle is an ease read, has fantastic characters, a phenomenal storyline, suspenseful, definite page-turner, romantic/steamy, action-packed, unpredictable at times, entertaining/enjoyable to read, and a happily ever after for Gears and Sydney. Sydney’s Battle is a MC romance book which I would recommend that readers who enjoy reading MC romance stories should definitely checkout this book. I’m looking forward to reading more amazing MC romance stories written by Author Elizabeth Knox.

Sydney knows the pain of loss more than most people. She lost her birth father before she was born, then her mother, and her adopted father, Fist, shortly after. Now she feels like she's losing her Dad, Zane, the President of the Reapers Rejects MC. Sydney can't change who she is and forget she sees an injustice. Not even when the man is supposed to be the enemy.

Gears has lost everything he once held sacred. His faith, his trust, and his brotherhood is nothing but blood and ash. The betrayal hasn't faded away just because a year has passed. One chance encounter with Sydney reminds him that there are still angels in the world. He doesn't want to cause her pain, but he cannot give her up. He'll burn at her own hands before he lets her go.

Those who have read the Reapers Rejects MC series knows who Sydney is. That she finds her ride or die in Gears is beyond endearing. She shows the generosity and gentleness of her fathers day her rebellion against what she sees as an injustice to Gears. Her spirit ignites memories of her mothers. Gears' determination to protect Sydney at all cost is more than romantic. A great beginning to the Next-generation Reapers.

Sydney is the adopted daughter of Zane the President of the Reaper Rejects MC...she is fresh out of school and enjoying spending some time with Zane when something happens and she is tasked to watch their prisoner Gears. Gears was the VP of the Corrupt Kings MC, if you read the previous books in this series you know that Gears was left to suffer this fate when his pres Boomer shot up the RR clubhouse when he found our Cheyenne his sister was there. The Reapers Rejects have been torturing Gears for awhile trying to get information about the Corrupt Kings location because they can't be found. Well Sydney actually takes some time to talk to the man Gears and finds out some information that is a game changer for her...that Boomer was going to kill Gears so she knows that Gears would do anything to help find Boomer. She is sick of the treatment that has been given to Gears and takes him to her apartment above the barn to clean him up and help him heal. Eventually these two fall in love and wow they have such chemistry. How will Zane and the other guys of the Reapers Rejects MC feel when they find out Sydney is in love with the "enemy"?

Book 1 of the Reapers Rejects MC: Second Generation series. And if this book is any indication, it's going to be a wild ride!! It's a steamy, age-gap, enemies-to-lovers, slow burn, girl gets her biker darkish romance. Sydney is the adopted daughter of Zane, the President of the Reaper's Rejects MC. She is young, sassy, and feisty with a heart of gold. Gears is a hunky, somewhat grumpy biker. He was the vice president of the Corrupt Kings MC until an event went sideways with the Reaper's rejects, and he is now their prisoner. Through a series of events, she meets him. Over time, they become friends, and feelings grow. She starts to help him and treat him like a human being, causing friction with her dad. But Zane is a loose cannon. Will he let his daughter date Gears? When Sydney ends up in danger, can Gears protect her? I loved this story and couple. The chemistry was hot. There is a lot of drama, but our couple gets a happy ending for now. I can't wait for the next book!.

Sydney’s story is the first in the next general of the Reapers Rejects MC and it was an amazing read. Gears was left behind in a shootout in enemy territory and has been held captive for some time. Sydney helps gears and begins talking to him when she is sent to guard him and though time Sydney and Gears develop feelings for one another. The main problem is how to tell Sydney’s dad who happens to be the President of the Reapers Rejects MC. To say Zane is not happy is to say the least because he sees Gears as his enemy, and he is quite a few years older than Sydney, but he wants his daughter to be happy and therefore he reluctantly gives in. This was a great, well written story by Elizabeth Knox that will have you emotions on high alert not only for Gears who was betrayed by his President but also for Sydney who has had very traumatic life for someone so young. A great start to the next generation series by Ms Knox and I am looking forward to reading much more in this series.

Simply wonderful addition to Reapers MC, once started impossible to put down
Sydney’s the adopted daughter of the Reapers Rejects MC President and she was a well-respected female as family of the club and Zane would ensure that this was the way she remained, it was his responsibility as her father adopted or not.
Octavia and Ink is a captive enemy and yet she is drawn to him and she approaches him to speak with him, it had become almost an obsession to discover the truth about his reason for being there.
When she discovered the truth about him, she would let her family and her MC know why he was there, she wanted them to accept him as there own if he was as good as he seemed but didn’t take anything for granted.
This was a wonderfully written story and I guarantee that it is impossible not to be held by the suspense of this wonderful read.
I thoroughly enjoyed the book and look forward to reading any future publications; keep up all the wonderful writing.

Gears and Sydney’s story. Sydney is the adopted daughter of Zane the president of the Reapers Rejects MC. She went through a lot of trauma before Zane adopted her. Sydney is now 18 and she wants to pursue music. Gears is the VP of a rival club who got shot during a shootout with the Reapers. Gears was left by his brothers in arms. The Reapers tied him up in a barn where they have been torturing him for information for way too long. Sydney gets asked to watch over the barn while everyone else is out on club business. Sydney sees Gears and patches him up. They develop feelings for each other. Sydney doesn’t agree with how Gears is being treated. Will Zane allow Sydney and Gears to be together. Will Sydney convince the MC to give Gears a chance? Will Gears and Sydney find love and happiness together?

Sensational Reapers Rejects Second Generation romance!

Gears is part of the Corrupt Kings MC. Him and the President Boomer show up at the Reapers Rejects MC with someone they are just trying to deliver. But all heck breaks loose when Boomer looses it. A gun fight breaks out and Boomer is injured and left. A year later he is still being held captive. Sydney is the daughter of the Reapers Rejects MC president. She is grown up and stubborn as can be. Something happens to her and Gears helps her. Sydney realizes her father has it all wrong and he isn't the bad guy everyone thinks he is. But will her father be able to see her side of things?
These two start a friendship that turns into so much more. But will loyalty to her family win over loyalty to her heart?
I absolutely loved this forbidden love romance. It was intense with moments you definitely don't see coming. I have loved each and every book I have had the chance to read. Her writing is unique and will grab you from the very beginning and have you holding on tight to the very end.

A Sizzling Start to the Reapers Second Generation
“Sydney’s Battle,” the first title in the Second Generation of the Reapers MC series by Elizabeth Knox, packs a punch with its grit and super-steamy heat. It’s an age gap romance with the enemies-to-lovers angle to it, and it is a page-turner. Gears is an outsider who finds himself in a dangerous situation brought on by his own Prez, placing him in the crosshairs of Zane and the Reapers. Sydney is the significantly younger daughter of the Reapers Prez, but while she is sweet, beautiful, and has a huge heart, she also has a steely determination and a powerful sense of what is right. While Gears has been beaten down by his circumstances, Sydney brings out the man he always was - loyal, handsome, growly, and sexy as sin. Despite some pretty intense moments, this was truly a love story at its heart, as well as a coming-of-age tale for Sydney in so many ways. Really, really enjoyed this one!

Zanes and Olivia’s adopted daughter Sydney is all grown up, she’s sassy, fierce with a heart of gold. She sees the good in everyone and that’s exactly what she sees in Gears ( a member of a rival mc gang) and now a prisoner of the Reapers Rejects. Gears is a good man but just fell in with the wrong people, he can’t believe Sydney is helping him and slowly feelings evolve. Their world is a cruel and violent one but their relationship and love shine throughout. It was sweet and heartbreaking at the same time. Broke my heart to read what Gears asked Sydney to do to prove his loyalty to his new club. Nice to catch up with Zane( when did he become such a dick though?) Olivia and Inc. their story maybe over for now but I’m sure there’s more to come from enemies and other members of the Reapers Reject family. My only issue is I would have liked Sydney to have been just a little older(18) just my opinion, otherwise a great start.

This is the 1st book in the “Reapers Rejects MC Second Generation Series.” This is awesome read with an older male and younger female that has its share of drama, danger, forbidden romance, action packed page turning adventure, great characters and a plot that had me captivated. Gears is the sexy VP and member of a MC club. Sydney is the younger adopted daughter of a rival MC club Reapers Reject president Zane. Gears and Sydney meet when he gets wound by a rival MC club and his held captive. Sydney is tasked with watching over Gears. Sydney has a heart of gold and she tends to Gears wounds. The two are developing feelings for each other but they are on opposite sides and their relationship is forbidden.

Will Sydney be able to help Gears escape, will she go with him or stay behind, is there an HEA in store for Gears and Sydney and will Zane Sydney’s adopted father come for her?

Sydney's Battle is book one in Elizabeth Knox's Reapers Reject's: Second Generation, and the start to an entirely new, amazing break off of the Reaper's series.

This book starts with two individuals who like each other despite the objections of the girl's father who thinks the male is not good enough for her, and will only leave her hurt in the long run. But when someone tries to actually hurt her, the leading male takes it in his own hands to seek out vengeance for the audacity of harming his woman, which slowly earns him the respect of her father who refuses to let him get revenge on his own.

Elizabeth Knox has a talent for bringing several characters together that will rip out a readers heart,and slowly finding a way for them to mend it together. Readers will laugh and cry, and demand for more by the time they reach the end of the book. If this is the first book a reader has read by Ms. Knox, going back to read the first Reaper's Reject's book is an absolute must.

I have been waiting for Sydney and Gears’ story since I found out Elizabeth was writing them as a couple. She definitely did not disappoint me. This is an enemy(to the club) to lovers, age gap and forbidden. Gears has been held captive since his old Prez shot up the RR clubhouse. If you’ve read any of these RR books, you will know who Sydney is and know what she’s been through. This is a slow burn and it was perfect for them. These two have such a connection and she is willing to fight for him. Will she be able to convince her dad that Gears is not who thinks he is? There is action, heat, list, friendship, trust and some twisty turns that Elizabeth loves dishing out. I am enjoying this second generation so much and it is only the first book. I can’t wait to see where this series is headed. It’s going to be a wild ride.

I’m a fan of the Reaper’s Rejects, and it’s great to see a spin off of the next generation. Sydney had been raised by her non-biological parents, Zane (the Prez), Ophelia, and their partner Inc. The complicated connections are explained well in the story, so if you’re new, you’ll find it easy to follow along. The story starts with a disagreement between siblings, and leads to a good man being left behind. We don’t know much about Gears & I’m looking forward to learning more about him. Sydney has grown into a fair-minded woman, aware of Club business, and holds her father to account. There’s a love story, a bit about redemption, letting your children grow up, and a threat of revenge in the air. These stories always make me impatient for the next book!

Okay, so this is a first for an MC story. VP of the rival MC is shot by the rival MC but his president was about to be shoot him anyway and leave him dead. Now he is a prisoner of the rival MC. He is kept tied up in the barn and tortured for a long while. The president daughter of the rival MC is now asked to watch the prisoner. AS they get to know one another she learns of his mishap with his president that is not willing to come to save him but will kill him on site if he is released anyways. AS these two get to know each other feelings come into play but that cant happen since he is of the rival MC. Is she able to convince her father and the rest of the MC that he is not the enemy that he was left to die?

We are once again with the Reapers Rejects MC but now we are starting to learn about the next generation and the first cab of the rank is Sydney's story She has been in the previous story and we know her heartbreaking story she has lost many in her life but now has stability as the adopted daughter of Zane the president of the MC. She is tasked with guarding Gear the man the club took prisoner after the shoot out with his MC and as these two spend time together feelings grow Gear is trying to handle the fact that his MC has deserted him and is feeling really low until an angel starts to visit him Sydney knows he isn't the man her father thinks he is and wants him to have a chance of a life with their MC but can she convince her father and give the man she loves a new life You will have to read to see

I was waiting for Sydney’s story and hoped it would be the first. This is the beginning of a 2nd generation series from the Reaper’s Rejects series. The story revolves about Gears and Sydney. Sydney’s life has been overwhelmed with family loss. First, she lost her birth father before she was born, then her mother, and then her adopted father, Fist. She became very close to Zane, Reaper’s President, and now feels like she’s losing her Zane, the man she thinks of as dad. Gears lost everything as well, including his faith, and his trust, as well as his brotherhood. This betrayal still stings as new. He meets Sydney by chance and once he sees her, he knows they are meant to be together, to helps uplift each other. Perfect starting book to a new series.
