Wallflower (wohl-flou-erh): Identifier for someone who is shy and/or awkward. For reference, see Viola Kent.

Seventeen-year-old Viola Kent likes being invisible. Well, not literally, but she's content being a loner, reading her books, and hanging out with the animals at the shelter. She just wants to keep her head down and get through her senior year at Durham High.

Booktastically Amazing
I'm one of those people who physically squeal, swoon and screech when something good happens in a book. (or bad. Depending on how good the bad scene is)
It's a miracle the authorities weren't notified when I yelled: HOLY CRAP, GIRL GET HIM. GET.HIM. OR I SWEAR I WILL.
I think my neighbors are used to it.
I'm so sorry

Rating: 🍩🍩🍩🍩 4.2

See, when one goes into a rom com (especially when it's from an author you absolutely adore), expectations can't be all 'I'm really looking for a real romantic story' or

Wallflower was impossible not to devour in one sitting! This story swept me away and the pages were filled with charm, humor and romance. So this book went straight onto my favorites list! I loved that the story line was so much fun and that I couldn't stop laughing and smiling. I even cried a few tears, happy and sad. And that ending?! It made my heart so happy. If you're a fan of young adult romance, characters that will embed themselves into your heart and kissing that will make you swoon, th ...more

This book!! What can I say that can possibly describe how much I loved it??!

Right off the bat I'm hit with the feels after finding out Viola's PARENTS are freaking SAL and BECKS from Adorkable!!!! Whaaaaaaaaaaa. After reading that, I had to take a minute to compose myself because all of the beautiful feelings from Adorkable came rushing back. In fact, if you need me, you can find me re-reading that book for the hundredth time.

But anywayyyy, the cuteness and feels didn't end there! Oh, no, my fri

I don't read much YA anymore, but this came highly recommended so I had to give it a try! This is also my first book by Ms. O'Gorman and I was pleasantly surprised by how quickly I was drawn into the story and how likable the lead characters were. Viola was a fun, spunky character. I liked her sarcastic personality. Dare was cocky and sweet. They have fun banter and good chemistry.

I am not a super big fan of the trope where the heroine is a total loner, doesn't have one friend, but the hottest

4.75/5 stars!

“One thing was certain: Dare was very good at pretending.
That kiss had sure felt real.
But it wasn't, I reminded myself sternly. This was all just a means to an end.”

This book contains: “Flowers”, soccer practice, the fake dating trope, mean cheerleaders, Harry Potter, quick breakfasts, carpooling, stray dogs and being brave.

My third Cookie O’Gorman book and definitely my favorite so far! To be honest, I loved them all so far, but this romance was everything my little heart could hav

Oh My Heart that was really cute and I was really in the mood for this kind of book
So the story is about Violet, she is a loner and she liked being a nerd without any friends, until Dare Frost pops in her life out of the blue .. he follows her everywhere being extra nice and wanting to be her friend, but then she discovers that her father actually hired him to be her friend, so viola plots a revenge on her father .. by pretending to be in love with Dare

Oh well, at least I’d gotten all the awkwardness out of my system.

I’m half-Slytherin, half-Gryffindor and all badass romance addict.

“But congratulations, Dare. You’re off the hook. Thanks for telling me the truth. Your services as rent-a -friend are no longer required. You can go now.”
“No.”
My eyes went to his. “What do you mean no?”
“I promised Coach,” he said, “and I’m no quitter.”
I blinked as Dare smiled.
“Plus, I don’t know if it’s because you’re kind of odd or because you don’t kiss up to me”-

Sweet romance

Even if I am a little older, I still read YA romance books but I do get a bit picky on YA “contemporary” romance. Cookie O’Gorman’s books, though, I love them all!!! You will not fail for some adorable and out right fun read!Just another one in my collection for sure. You can read this book over and over! When a new book comes out fr. her, it’s an automatic buy for me!!!! She’s such a great writer and knows how to balance out the swooning, being funny, giddy-ness, and high school l

I just finished Wallflower by Cookie O'Gorman just a minute ago, and I just had to write a review! Cookie O'Gorman is one of my favorite authors of all time! She has mastered the art of creating the sweetest romances! I turn 27 in 2 days, and I am not ashamed that I squeal and swoon like a fangirl every time I read a Cookie O'Gorman book. In Wallflower, Dare Frost would say such the sweetest, most romantic things to our main girl Viola Kent. However between Dare and Viola, my favorite was defini ...more

You know it’s a winner when you finish it and you want to immediately start over again! I was glued to this story! I couldn’t wait to finish and never wanted it to end all at the same time. There were so many moments where I was laughing out loud! So. Many! There was one funky part of the story near the end that I thought was super weird and didn’t even make sense. But other then that, I was in love!

Oh my, Cookie O’Gorman writes the BEST book boyfriends! I loved every page of this one. If you haven’t read Adorkable definitely read that before Wallflower as it’s about Sally and Beck’s daughter. So cute and such great banter and flirting. Loved it.

Cute. Funny. Sweet. Perfect fun romance. Both characters are likable in their own right and you feel for both of them which makes the story so much better. I read a ton of these types of books and sometimes they are good but not anything that is a true stand-out but this one did. Overall if you are looking for a feel good read that will make you at times laugh out loud (and maybe tear up a time or 2) then I highly suggest you give this one a whirl.

This was a great quick and easy fun read! A cute and sweet YA fauxmance that’ll give you cavities. Ugh, loved it. Fauxmance is my favorite trope and even more so with enemies to lovers sprinkled in.

Such a sweet couple and a great book to read to get out of my reading slump. Still need to finish the other book I’m currently reading.

That book was getting a bit stale and needed something quick and fun to read while I took a break from it. And this book was great.

Something about this book seemed familiar, and at the end it dawned on me that this is a sequel to Adorkable. Good times.

For anyone, who was a fan of Adorkable, this is a must-read. It is easy to read, funny, has awesome characters and is incredibly cute. The author's great style, which we got used to in her other books, is absuletly reflected by this novel as well.

Also, I read in the acknowledgements, that the author had written about her own experiences about being barked at. I think it meant so much for kids with similar difficulties. Thank you!

I adored the first book Adorkable when it first came out and have read it several times since so I was so excited to find out this was Sal and Beck’s child. Brilliant!!

The author/publisher provided a free copy of the book for review purposes - thank you! Receiving a review copy does not guarantee a positive review and therefore do not affect the opinion or content of the review. I can't believe my ass completely didn't notice that Sally and Becks from Adorkable, which I read and loved years ago, actually grew up and Wallflower was about their kid Viola until I read the acknowledgments. But I thoroughly enjoyed their appearance in O'Gorman's latest novel set ...more

This book utterly delighted me to no end. I was completely enraptured in this story from start to finish.

Once I started this book I couldn't put it down. I read the entire thing in a single sitting. The pacing was perfect and the storytelling was just amazing. I could feel myself in the shoes of these characters over and over.

These characters really struck a chord with me. I latched on to them from the very beginning. I loved their personalities and how relatable they were. Viola and Dare were

This book had captured my attention as I love those stories of #nerd meets and falls in love with a #jock as it can show that opposites truly do exist and also that you can never judge a person by their looks and that under a plain girl will be the "forever" one and that under pretty looks are "easy girls". For Viola, she inherited her mum's nerdiness rather than her dad's athletic ability and looks. Viola is her mother's daughter and would rather spend her time reading and hanging out with the

Dare Frost is just the sort of book boyfriend I needed this week.

When Viola Kent says she likes being under the radar, she means it. She doesn't want to be part of the crowd, and in the spotlight, she means it. And when she says she doesn't need any more friends, she means it. So color her furious when she finds her father is trying to manipulate the school playboy and sports star to be her new best friend. Just because her dad is his coach doesn't mean that Dare owes him the favor of feeling b

Welcome to my spot on Cookie O’Gorman’s Wallflower Book Tour sponsored by YA Bound Book Tours. Well, I’m hooked. I can’t pass up a nerd meets jock story with references to teen romcoms because I am the expert on 80s romcoms…and, yes, I was the nerd with no boyfriends in high school.

Viola is a loner, a lover of animals, a talented cellist, and the soccer coach’s daughter. When her confession to her crush goes bad, her father interferes in her friendless life and convinces her crush’s best friend

Oh my heart! I absolutely fell in love with Dare and Viola!!! I wish I had a Dare in high school. Dare is perfect in every way with Viola. He brings her out of her shell and Viola shows Dare that love is real. I know that this will be a story that I will always reread!

So it’s currently 5:30 am and I haven’t slept all because of this book. I adored it! I loved the characters and even a few little tears slipped away.

When I started reading I was not aware that Viola was daughter of the iconic and treasured BECKS and SAL. I screamed. Adorkable is one of my favorite books!

Why not 5 ⭐️ well I suffered a lot of second hand embarasment and when it’s too cringy for me I just can’t continue BUT I was glad I did.

I am 110% a hopeless romantic, and this book from beginning to end had me making those happy little sqeaking noises you make when you read a happy part of a book. I wish I could read this book, forget it, and read it again a million times over. Cute, but not the overly sexual type of reading that many romance books have. 1000000/10 loved this book 🥰🥰🥰
