Dark

This book is so very dark. It is dirty and not in a good way. But It is amazingly written and a wonderful companion to the series! Unfortunately life is not always light and airy, sometimes it is dark and gritty, this story proved that. It was nice to see how Jake, Roxy, Ayda and Mia became the way they are. I loved how even through the darkness certain characters never lost their sparks! I’m very glad about a couple things and I’m thinking that maybe it might set up a few thing for future storylines! All in all a wonderful book! Hoping one of the main characters in this book redeems himself because he seems like he might actually be a decent guy!

Wow...hard but needed

Seeing the life of the Mortemous kids while growing up is a hard pill to swallow. Lex was a freakin tyrant! There’s so many things about Jake, Roxy, Ayda, & Mia that make sense now. I know there was a point in there where my heart broke for each & every one of them. I’m not going to lie, Jake & Jaxon have stolen my heart. I’m a sucker for the bad boys I guess. I can’t wait for their stories 🥰. Well done Ellie my dear, thank you for giving us the hard stuff

Breathtakingly broken

This was an amazing sad heartbreaking empowering backstory of the people I love already. My heart that was closed to Mia opened and embraced her beauty and strength. My heart is broken and weeping for ayda my gawd that poor girl I knew some of her back story but this shattered me and proved how unbreakable she is. Ellie is amazing and these people are so beautifully broken I want to love them and keep them safe and tell Ellie to shoo shoo until she can treat my babies better. I love you Ellie you beautiful monster

Oh the heartache

Wow! This book dives in deep to the history of Roxy, Ayda along with their brother Jake and sister Mia. It’s a tough read and deals with some hard subjects. It is so worth it though to understand them all a little better. Bravo Ellie
