I am struck!

Continuation from book 1, this story delves more into the interactions and the uncharacteristic, love-to-hate relationship between Harper and Royal -- Harper portraying more warm feelings toward Royal, even as he calls her his plaything, and Royal seemingly, angrily drawn to Harper. We also come to understand more about Dolce boys, Royal and his brothers, Baron and Duke. A mysterious Mr. D is still in the picture. But what games are they playing? This story is written is in the two m

“I could blame them for being sociopaths, for the assault itself, but they’ve never hidden who they are. I know. They warned me. Everyone warned me. Can I blame a scorpion for having venom? Or myself for reaching in to pet it?

Book two continues on with Royal and Harper’s intense relationship with each other.
And by relationship I mean ownership.
“I could kill you right now, sweetheart”, he says, that word sounding like a threat every time he uses it. “Your life belongs to me now. I can decide t

Gahhh! The ending! Seriously!! I’m dead right now. I can not freakin' wait until the next book comes out. This series is 🔥! Hot alpha males, sassy heroine, addicting storyline. All the good book things. The twist and the darkness kept me sucked in until the bitter end. Selena did a fantastic job weaving the highs and lows. Seriously one of the best stories I’ve read in a long time. A reread is definitely in

This is the continuation of the first book, Bad Apple. As the story continues I got to see Royal being human. But that lasted but a minute. His obsession with Apple, that he tries to deny, is what I enjoy seeing. Like book 1, he is

Willow Heights Prep Academy is a high school bully romance. It is dark, twisted, full of torment and badassery. Does contain lots of triggers. If you are not into that, do not read! Selena even gives you a clear warning before proceeding!

Brutal Boy picks up where book 1: Bad Apple left off... With that said... You need to read book 1 in the series before you read this book.

We pick up and continue with the relationship of Harper and the Dolce brothers. Harper continues feeding information to th

Brutal Boy starts where Bad Apple finished so you need to read that one first. This is the Willow Heights Prep Academy: The Exile series, and this is the second novel of a planned 4 book series. It helps to have read the first series, Willow Heights Prep Academy: The Elite as this provides a lot of background info for this series, but it's not totally necessary (though I recommend it as it is a great series!).

Both Harper Apple and Royal Dolce are developed brilliantly here, and although the Dolc

5/5 stars like wow! 🤩 Selena, you really have outdone yourself with this series. This book really outdid itself! I remember when I first started the Bully me series, and now there’s so many plot lines and things happening. This book starts off where we last left off, namely Harper feeling betrayed by Royal. We also get a dual POV this time in this book. Harper tries to fit in with the school crowd by wearing Mabel Darlings clothes, however, things go awry when Royal and the other D

WOW! The plot is getting so thick I am not sure I see the end zone clearly. After finishing this book I am left shocked, speechless and with so many unanswered questions rolling around in my brain. I am still seething with hate towards certain characters but I see a softening happening with others. This is such a crazy and wild ride.

Harper gets every unimaginable degrading thing thrown at her and still she picks herself up and continues to fight back. She is fierce and I love her strength and r

5 STARS for Brutal Boy by Selena

ARC received from Booksprout and author in exchange for an honest review. Opinions expressed are my own and have not been influenced in any way.

This book and series should be able to be rated “way more” than 5 STARS. I absolutely devoured Book 2 staying up till 2 am and only leaving myself the last 30 pages to finish in the morning. Hands down this is one of the best high school / bully romances I have ever read ....

Please note Brutal Boy ends on a cliffhanger

She doesnt belong in his world, though she's here thanks to Mr D. It just comes with a price tag.

He has set his sights on her now, and both vows to claim her as his plaything and  destroy her.

He played her once, but would she suspect it could happen again?

What a fantastic continuation of the series!

The first book "Bad Apple" set the scene and showed us just how far the Dolce boys are willing to go.

This book continues that theme which I for one am glad of.

The boys continued to terrorize tho

I enjoyed this story! It pulled me in from beginning to end. It is the second book in the series and I would highly recommend reading the them in order as they definitely build off of one another and are closely connected. This is also a spin off to the Will Heights Prep Academy: The Elite and if you have read that series you do get a lot of backstory on the Dulce boys and see some of the reasons why Royal is the way that he is. Harper and Royal have a very intense connection but figuring out wh ...more

Harper and Royal....oh my goodness.

Can you say off the charts chemistry? If you haven't read this series yet then you need to. I love Harper. She is a fierce female who grew up with a drug addicted mom, had to grow up quick, and has no problem standing up for herself. Harper is badass.

Royal is a troubled rich boy who has been dealt a pretty shitty experience, although we don't know much yet, hopefully we find out the whole story in the next two books. He's the troubled bad boy every girl fanta

I volunteered to read an Advanced Reader Copy of this book and to submit an honest review.

Harper continues to report the goings on of the Dolce family to Mr. D. She still has no idea as to her benefactor is. He's becoming more demanding wanting explicit information she does not want to reveal; however, he is paying her tuition at Willow Heights. Harper wants out of Faulkner and a diploma from Willow Heights is the answer.

Royal Dolce has declared that Harper belongs to him; no boy is to talk to h

** TRIGGER WARNING ** This book contains non-con.

Harper and Royal are... complicated. She puts on this tough exterior when internally she’s just a very broken little girl. The adults in her life have only ever done her wrong.

It’s interesting that I also feel the same way about Royal. The only difference between their upbringing is money.

Just because Royal was raised with money does not make Mr. Dolce a candidate for father of the year. He’s for sure a creep. But I also think he’s lying to his c

Fuck. I love this series. It just gets better and better with every book. The twists and turns, the plot twists, the angst, it’s fucking addictive. This author’s writing is so captivating and flawless, it stole my attention from chapter 1 and didn’t let me get back to reality until the very last word. I just love it.
In this book we get to understand more about the boys, but there’s still so much to be revealed. Like, who the hell is Mr. D? I have my suspicions, but I’m dying for his identity to

Royal is so broken it is physically painful to read. Like, I'm terrified to find out what he went through in that week he was gone. The foreshadowing is making my gut twist. I don't even know how I really feel about him, I'm as sideways as Harper.

He so obviously wants to be the bad guy and his actions make him nothing else most of the time, but knowing he's got such turbulent emotions clashing under the surface of his cold demeanor makes it impossible not to feel for him. Ache for him. I don't t

Maybe Its because I read it too fast. Maybe it’s because I didn’t reread Bad Apple. Maybe it was just because it was the second book. A filler if you will.
But damn was this kinda boring.

Every now and then you get glimpses of Royal and make you swoon. But it’s rare. We see alittle more of the dark side of Royal (not just as bully). There were too many characters and back story. I know it suppose to be intriguing but I feel like it takes away alittle of royal and Harper. The ending kinda explain

4.5 stars :)

This second installment of Selena’s Willow Heights Prep Academy picked up right where Bad Apple left off. Selena painted a very elaborate picture regarding the Dolce Boys and gave us a little more into their background. Still not answering all the questions that burn on your tongue. But she is setting up the next two books perfectly. This book was definitely not for the faint of heart. There is a lot of push and pull between Harper and Royal. This author certainly knows how to keep you wanting more. The ending left me curious about the next book and where it’s going to go. So many unanswered questions that will hopefully get answered in the next two books. Royal still has me confused about him because he’s so screwed up inside but I must say that I liked him more in this book than the others. Maybe what happened and how he feels will make him understand his sister a little more. It was nice to see Harper let her guard down a little i ...more

Harper finds herself in a more difficult situation than she had anticipated. Royal intrigued and attracted her in an unexpected and dangerous way but she knew she couldn't give her arm to twist. She has a mission, and she is not going to be blinded by her emotions. We hope so! The Dolce were evil, depraved and intent on destroying everything around her and she had an ally even though she didn't know who he was. Despite Royal being constantly denying it, Harper had shaken something inside him, bu ...more

The second installment from the first book Bad Apple. It’s Dark, Twisted, Raw and Real.

Royal is a complicated character. The second you think he’s got any redeeming quality’s, he turns around and smack you in the face with his cutting words and actions. He has no qualms in telling Harper exactly what he thinks of her. But he’s also very possessive in what she does and who she talks to.

Royal doesn’t hide if monsters. If anything he relishes in them. And when he unleashes them h

Brutal Boy is book 2 in the Willow Heights Prep Exile series. It follows on from book 1 Bad Apple. This book continues with the story of Harper and Royal. In it we see that Royal is obsessed with Harper but doesn't want to admit it, even so he is so awful to her. I still love the character of Harper, she is strong despite what she is put through. I like that we see little glimpses of Royal being slightly more human even if it is very briefly. I have been waiting for this book since the cliffhang ...more

I gave this a generous 3 stars. I loved Bad Apple, but this book was just meh for me. Lots of filler with the push and pull between Harper and Royal. The only real developments are the incident at the beginning of the book involving Colt and the ending with a reveal of why Royal wants to destroy Harper. All the in between was same old love/hate relationship between Harper and Royal. Even Mr. D was pretty much non existent in this book. We get a couple of text exchanges between him and Harper, bu ...more

Where to start, I thought Crystal and devlin story was good but I think harper and royal story might beat it, each book gets better, harper is such a strong independent young girl she dealt with alot of crap from home life to school and also including the dolce boys especially Royal the things he puts her through and how she keeps head held high through out this book and who's Mr D? Is it a dolce member or a darling, at first I thought it was royal testing her but I'm not sure now, I hope in the ...more

Well, I love that Royal gets his own chapters and we see his perspective more in this book. Royal is still so guarded and dark. In this book you get to see more of his brokenness and it’s something else. I didn’t want to love him, but I do. They (the Dolce’s) hit Harper where it hurts and she plans to get them all back. She can’t deny the pull she has to Royal, or their undeniable chemistry. In this book, there’s serious drama, and you definitely will not be bored. I also think that the characte ...more

*This is a DARK romance, which may not be for everyone. This is not a fluffy, light book.*
We get to see a dual POV from both Harper and Royal this time. From the beginning you can tell that Royal is very conflicted about how he feels about Harper. While he may be sort of protecting her from others, he is most definitely not protecting her from himself and by the end you can tell we're in for a ride in the next chapter of Harper & Royal. There is a lot of emotional turmoil for both Har

Brutal Boy by Selena is a dark high school romance. This is the second book in the Willow Heights Prep Academy: The Exile Series.

The book does come with a caution/warning " It contains triggering material and is recommended for readers 18+."

This is the third book of Selena's that I have read and it definitely won't be my last. This series just keeps getting better and better! The chemistry between Royal and Harper are off the charts. The relationship is messed up but you can't help but root fo

You might not guess it when you pick up your first Selena novel, but Selena is a true romantic. She writes gritty, realistic New Adult contemporary novels with characters you'll love to hate and hate to love.

If reading about teens behaving badly upsets you, steer clear because these are full of drama, angst, fighting, drugs, sex, and rock & roll. There will be times you want to throw your Kindle.
