This story was sweet, romantic, steamy and fun to read. 😍😍With action and no OM/OW drama. Another great story about the IEP and how aliens found their HEA with a human 😉

Audiobook - Narrator Good but sometimes sounded mechanical/unemotional

Gayle and Rahl

Heroine is a Brunette 🌟
Heroine with brown eyes 🌟
Heroine and Hero Biologists 🌟
Hero with green skin 🌟

Wish the cover Alien had green skin.
Her covers don't really look like Aliens.

Good story. Good characters.

Had a bit of Aquaman eco theme without water. I liked that.

New Author to me.

I look forward to more books in the series.

Review of Assistant For an Alien Ruler
By Roxie Ray

Human Botanist Meets Hot Alien Male

I’ve said it before, but don’t mind saying it again – I LOVE the way Roxie Ray writes! Her books almost always include drama, danger, intrigue and humor – many times wry and sometimes laugh-out-loud funny. Of course, there is always romance, which is generally steamy, and includes sex with paranormal entities or with aliens. And I always enjoy her plots, although I’ve seen some reviews on other books that dismiss them as formulaic. They may be formulaic to a certain limited degree, but there are always elements that makes them different and there is always a twist that is many times unexpected. So, I obviously don’t agree with that negative assessment.

Since the version I read is an ARC (Advanced Reader Copy), I’m not totally sure how the blurb describing the book will read, so I’ll give you my own condensed version that will set the stage for what happens next. Gayle is a chemist who is interested in botany. She works at a lab on Earth in which she is the only woman on a team that includes 6 men, all of whom take credit for her work. Her boss is the worst of all and in addition to making lewd comments on a daily basis, on this particular day, he tried to reach up under her skirt. She yelled at him and left the room steaming. After work, she stopped at a local bar and ordered a glass of wine to calm down. After Gayle warned off a man who approached her, the woman sitting next to her started asking questions and Gayle told her about her job and her day. As the two women talked, the woman suggested that Gayle try the IEP, or Intergalactic Exchange Program. After a few minutes of thought, Gayle decides to go for it, but she makes it clear that she doesn’t want any job that may be related to science. And her preferred planet is Hollander, as she has a cousin who lives there and the cousin loves the planet.

Rahl Prospero is the elected ruler of the planet Macros. He is contacted by a man from the IEP who tells him that he has a contract for a person who meets all of the criteria Rahl had requested for a position on Macros. Rahl agrees to pay 30% over for the contract price and the end result is that Gayle is now headed for Macros instead of Hollander. When she opens the packet she was handed, she discovers to her horror that she will be working as a research assistant, in other words, as a scientist, directly under the leader of the planet. When she lands and is met by Rahl, she immediately notices how hot (read, handsome) he is. And that concludes the part of the story that I’m willing to share. You definitely need to read the book to see how this mess works itself out. Just get set for a wild ride!

The world building is some of the best I’ve read by Ms. Ray, as is the character development, including some of the secondary characters. The world itself sounds like a place I’d love to visit. And even as old as I am (upper sixties), I would have loved to have met a man/alien like Rahl when I was younger, although I am very happy with my choice of mate. I really liked the fact that Ms. Ray wrote the book so that although both Rahl and Gayle were attracted to each other, it wasn’t insta-love or insta-sex. They actually got to know each other first!

Ms. Ray has outdone herself with this novel. Great job, Roxie!

Another fun story with a plot that demands more.

Rahl needs a biologist and Gayle wants to get away from science but has all the credentials Rahl needs. He buys out her contract with the IEP and has her work as a biologist. They have an intense attraction to each other right off the bat. Gayle finds her love for science again and the two start a relationship after some bumps.

I will say that I like Rahl and Gayle. They were both very sweet and their interactions were intense. However, I felt as if there wasn’t any conflict between them and when there was it was forced.

There is a Raider man, Urul (probably spelt that wrong), who is interested in Gayle and that could have turned into a love triangle situation, but Gayle is so nice she turns him down pretty quickly. I’m not sayingI wanted her to string him along, but I would have liked seeing her really fight her attraction to Rahl because he was her boss and go out on a couple dates with Urul instead of just one. If you are saying you are gonna fight the attraction, then let’s see it for longer than a couple chapters.

There was a secondary plot of poachers on the planet that was interesting. However, it all wrapped up really fast at the end and they just assumed all was well when it may not be. There was also a Lot Of talk of an illness, which was the whole reason Gayle was there, and it too was wrapped up fairly neatly. I half expected either Rahl or Wisteria, his sister, to get sick so that the tension would be higher, but never happened. In less than 2 chapters they mentioned the illness was back and then they had a cure for it.

Overall, if you like some hot and heavy sex scenes with some romance mixed in and not a lot of drama, then this series is for you. I still enjoy it, but I would like there to be more going on than just the romance element, some expansion on the other things would be nice.

Gayle was fed up of her boss and the men she worked with. Her boss was always coming on to her and taking credit for her hard work. This night after work she went for a drink and got talking to a woman at the bar. The woman suggested that she should join IEP and get assigned to a planet for a year. Gayle picked which planet she wanted and then waited. She was taken to a waiting post in space for her contract to be bought. Rahl paid over the odds for Gayle’s contract to make sure he got a botanist. The day she arrived on Macros Rahl was there to meet her and also pick up Soren and Maya. He thought he was meeting a man and couldn’t take his eyes off of her and she was the same with her. This is the start for Gayle and Rahl. When he told her, her house was next to the one he shared with his sister Wisteria. Gayle was soon at work trying to find a cure for ache-death sickness which when the weather turned hot killed a lot of the citizens Rahl and Wisteria parents included. Rahl and Gayle got together but Gayle didn’t want anyone to know and so starts there working and personal life. You will not be able to put it down I stayed up until the early hours to finish it.

This time we have a scientist, Gayle, that is tired of being harassed at work and having others take credit of her work.  She doesn't love her job anymore, and wants to start fresh, doing nothing like what she had been doing, but Rahl, the leader of Macros needs a botanist that knows about Earth plants, and Gayle is perfect, so as we have seen in previous books in the series, he goes and buys her contract without giving her a chance of getting what she really wants.

The last thing Gayle wants is another boss that is after her, but then she totally falls for Rahl, and even if he is trying to be respectful so he won't be like other men that used their power to force her into being with them, at the end they understand is not the same situation, because they both want it.  It's not easy, there is a lot of drama in between, some that felt both predictable and forced, because the situations didn't feel organic, but manufactured, and the anger was also out of proportion, like it was just to add drama to the situation.

At the end everyone is happy, most of their problems are solved, and we have everything set for the next book in the series.  It's not a great book, but it's something nice to read if you want to burn some time.

Gayle is sick of being used by her boss and co-workers. She works in a lab and they all constantly take the credit for her work. She has had enough! A woman she meets and chats with in a bar suggested she try going through the Intergalactic Exchange Program to find something suitable off-planet.

Gayle’s one firm rule for a new job is no more science! She also requested something on Hollander where a relative of hers lives. But Rahl Prospero, ruler of the planet Macros, learns that Gayle meets his requirements for a job working as his assistant on Macros, and he pays extra to have her sent there instead. Unfortunately, she ends up back in a lab again. But this time it feels different as she meets her new boss and their chemistry sizzles!

The characters are likable, well-described, and the story line moves at a comfortable pace. One thing I notice about these IEP job brokers is that they will put the applicant wherever they can make the most money from the deal, regardless of what the applicant asks for! But in this case, it looks like Gayle may have gotten exactly what she needs! Grab your copy and see if there is a HEA on the horizon for them!

This whole series is so good. The work put into describing these planets & characters, and making them come alive, is just mind blowing. It truly makes you wish you could see the planets for yourself, and makes you feel like the characters are long lost friends. I was so happy to finally get Rahl’s story, and it was just as wonderful as I thought it would be. I loved his and Gayle’s journey, and it was interesting to see his approach in comparison to the other books. With Rahl having such a different temperament, it made for more of a slower moving story, but I wouldn’t have expected anything differently. There were enough mysteries and obstacles thrown in so that things were never easy, but it was obvious from their first meeting that they were absolutely perfect for each other, mating gene or not. I loved the teasers about Wisteria’s love life, and hope she gets her own book soon. Can’t wait to read Prince Aiken’s book next!

I love Miss Rays stories! Her writing is creative and engaging. Her characters are full of life with very descriptive stories. She makes her characters come to life and you just want to grab them and hug and kiss and hold on to them. This story was no different and I got to tell you it left me smiling! Gayle just wants away from the bosses that she has been saddled with here on earth and so she accepts a job offer she can not refuse! But she gets to her destination and she finds herself working back in a lab and being something that she no longer wants to be. But the kicker is who she is working for. Rahl is the most powerful alien on his planet but he needs help and that is where Gayle comes in albeit not to her liking. Well let it be known that these characters make you want to flip those pages and become ingrained within the story. This series is amazing but this book will have you on the edge for the duration!

Gayle is a botanist and is sick of her work being stolen by her boss and co-workers. She is so tired of it, she doesn’t want to be a scientist anymore. She goes to a bar to relax and begins to talk to another woman sitting there about her problems. The woman suggests she apply to the Intergalactic Exchange Program where she could get a different kind of job on the planet Hollander.
Rahl Prospero, ruler of the planet Macros, has asked the IEP to find him botanist to help find a cure for the ache-death sickness. When he finds out about an applicant, Gayle, that is just what he ordered, he offers to pay extra to get her. Rahl and Gayle have some problems to work out before they can have their HEA, but I definitely recommend you read the book to see how it all works out.
I enjoy Roxie Ray’s stories. Her books have drama, danger, intrigue and steam just the way I like them.

Fed up with the men around her Grace joins IEP and finds herself on Macros.
Botanist Grace has had enough of the men she works with trying to steal her work and the boss who keeps making advances to and had earlier that day put his hand up her skirt. She goes for a drink and meets Tory a representative of the IEP who talks her into taking a contract to get away from life in the lab and soon she finds her self to work for a year on the planet Macros. Rahl the Nourisher is leader of the planet Macros and a scientist desperately seeking a solution to the deadly disease that killed his parents so he contacts the IEP asking for a qualified botanist not worrying about any other details and pays over the odds to make it happen. He is stunned by the beautiful woman coming towards him and shocked to find that she is his new botanist.

This is a NON-SPOILER REVIEW. Assistant For An Alien Ruler by Roxie Ray is the fourth book in her Intergalactic Exchange Program series. I am reading this book as a drop-in (I haven't read the rest of the series). I really liked this read. I felt this could easily be read as stand alone. Gayle is a scientist that wants a change in her circumstances and her career. Rahl Prospero is a ruler of a planet that desperately needs help and he isn't above using his means to get what he wants. Thinking that her life is changing for the better, Gayle accepts a position as an assistant only to find herself back in the lab. This book is highly entertaining. With misunderstandings running rife and humor lightening the storyline, some steamy interactions (Mature Readers Only Please) and sexy aliens... sign me up!

"If anyone had told me I’d have signed up with the IEP to escape my old life, I never would have believed them."

Gayle is ready to leave her life behind. She's tired of the sexist attitudes, and having men claim credit for her work as a scientist. There has to be a better life out there for her... and maybe with some time away from science and the lab she'll want to come back to her one true love.

Rahl, and the people of Macros, need the help of a skilled human botanist, and he will do whatever it takes to get them the expert they need.

This done in one Kindle Unlimited quick read ties into the other stories in the series nicely... I'm A huge fan of the "found family" these characters embrace and celebrate.

This story focuses on trust issues, healing from emotional wounds, recognizing that life isn't as simple and clear cut as we wish, but it is worth the effort and wait.

Gayle was a biologist who worked with creeps and men who would steal her work. So she ends up going to the Intergalactic Exchange Program and as far away from science that she could get. But she ends up on Macros, and she right back into the lab and a biologist. She's not going to fall for her boss Rahl but he's nothing like her boss back on Earth. Leader Rahl Prospero it the Nourisher of the planet Macros. He employed her as his assistant and they are both surprised at their immediate attraction. They have to work their way through misunderstandings, trials and drama. They were so cute trying to deny their attraction but their chemistry as steamy. Another great story by Roxie Ray. Rahl the Nourisher is the Ruler of Macros and has made so many mistakes not the first is manipulating Gayle to get her to Macros. And the moment he meets her he feels drawn to her and wants to get closer to her, but keeps stumbling over the boundaries he sets while he tries to stay honorable instead of expressing how he really feels. Gayle has had bad experiences with bosses, but she really likes Rahl and can't understand why he keeps acting the way he does, when they seem to mesh so well together. He keeps pushing her away, what's a girl going to do? A little heartache, some mystery, action, adventure and romance, what more could you ask for? A really great read!!

Totally loved this work and can’t wait for the next installment. It was great to see some familiar faces from the previous installments in the series and see how the overarching plot of the series was moving on. The romance aspect of this story was great and watching the characters get to know each other but fight the attraction they have was great. The plot was fantastic with a little bit of action thrown in to keep the reader on their toes. I loved the character growth, even if it seems that some aspects of men don’t change regardless of the alien species.

I give this a four out of five stars. The story was fantastic with great characters and a great plot.

Guilty pleasure for anyone who enjoys alien PNRs

Written for mature readers (18+ years old) due to subject matter that may be a trigger or offensive to some including adult language, steamy intimate scenes and violence.

I highly recommend this be read in series order for maximum reader satisfaction and to prevent spoilers as there are reoccurring characters and an overall storyline arc.

There are a few grammatical errors, but overall the story universe is well developed, with strong characters and a world I wish was real. There is a lot of time and attention devoted to environment and how Macros is structured to sustainable living. Loved the changes in skin tone that Roxie Ray gave the Macronites when they experience strong emotions ...

Gayle wanted to leave science and her job behind and accepted an exchange contract on Hollender..

Big surprise though, she did not end up on Hollander, because her contract was bought under the table by the ruler of another planet . Rahl wanted a botanist and he was willing to pay extra to get him, anything to save the people of his planet from a plague. So now Gayle is back working as a botanist well she, or won't she because the contract was for an assistant and she signed it. Rahl and Gayle never expected each other, or that there'd be a spark, a huge spark between them. Can Gayle get beyond Rahl's lies and manipulation of her contract, no matter how much attraction there is?

This is a wonderful story of human Botanist, Gayle finding happiness and love on an alien world.
Leader Rahl Prospero, the Nourisher of planet Macros has employed her as his assistant and is shocked as is Gayle at their immediate attraction to each other upon first meeting.
We then follow along as they traverse through many trials, misunderstandings, and adversities with a
story that is told with imaginative world building, and atmospheric narrative.
Supporting characters were also interesting and aided in bringing this excellent story to life.
I would definitely recommend this read.

The fourth installment of the Intergalactic Exchange Program brings together Rahl Prospero leader of the planet Macros and Gayle a botanist from Earth looking to leave the scientific world behind.
Author Roxie Ray brings to life their deep attraction and the beauty of the Macros world.

Nice and romantic

What a nice and romantic story. Gayle is a talented botanist on Earth. Unfortunately their are some problems with her job as she is not receiving credit for her work. Gayle feel like she will not be able to strive in her profession with this firm. There is a ruler Rahl who is struggling with a horrible virus on his planet. He and his team have been trying to find a cure. Rahl is looking for a botanist to booster his team. The IEP group presented Rahl with the opportunity to contract a botanist. Their journey begins there. . . Read On!

Loved the new planet

Enjoyed finding more about Rahl and his home. His Fiesty mate was great.
Love the real science sprinkled throughout.
Was not in love with the tired “he betrayed and lied to me” theme that has been in each book in series. It it NOT A BIG DEAL. So what if he ought her contract.
She started off saying she wished she could do field work, real science wo creepy team members, boss. She did, and succeeded in many discoveries for the planet. No downside.
Hope his sister gets a story.

Earth has become a dystopian world and travel between worlds with a myriad of aliens is the norm. What isn't the norm is finding your fated one. It has been so long that anyone who knew has long since gone and if it is talked about it is as if it was a myth.

When a human is involved they will do anything to make them theirs. However, the chemistry explodes, making them confront there are feelings just waiting to be explored. As their connection simmers dangerously close to the surface, they must decide if it is worth the risks that come with uncovering their true desires.

Another fun story full of hot aliens and a human girl who joins the IEP and of course ends up not where she thought she was going. It was fun to get Rahl story and watch the main characters fight their attraction and deny it. Just another entertaining steamy story. Liked that the other couples from the series show up too. I laughed quite a few times at the situations both of the main characters found themselves in. Just a fun entertaining read.
