Debut author Jeremy Rhyne deftly delivers a heartwarming and humorous true story about his best friend Cwiz pronounced “Quiz” and the incredible adventures they shared growing up in the ’90s in Southern California.

These over the top stories that span from their first meeting as fifteen year old sophomores in high school, to their adulthood-hood traveling the world, and finally finding their ground.

The book is told in short chapters with a life lesson at the end of every story. Through these hi

Thank you #Netgalley for the advanced copy.

These short stories made me laugh out loud and want to be friends with this group of guys. The stories are hard to believe at some points, but are so funny and altruistic. Cwiz sounds like an amazing guy with great luck and heart for helping others. I think this is a great gift that his friend wrote for him to recall all the crazy stories they have experienced together.

This book comes out tomorrow and is a must read!! I’m not usually a fan of a memoire, but I loved this one. Laugh out loud moments ✔️ stories that seem too crazy to be true yet are ✔️ a unique cast of characters that you can’t help loving ✔️ poignant moments that will make you want to call your own bestie to say how grateful you are for their friendship ✔️ I would say this book has it all. Rhyne writes Cwiz’s story with a lot of humor but most notably with a tenderness and understanding that onl ...more

Lately, while perusing books and reading the posted book reviews, I noticed a number of authors who posted a review of their own book. If Glennon Doyle thinks it’s a good idea to self-review and give herself five stars, I figured why not? So, although this is a little awkward, I am going to review my own book here for you.

I’ll start with telling you why I wrote the book. I have this buddy named Cwiz (pronounced Quiz), and we’ve been friends for over 30 years. Cwiz is, to put it mildly, a unique
What an incredible gift it would be to hand your best friend a book filled with all your best memories of them! Jeremy Rhyne did just that. He wrote down his favorite memories of his best friend Caesar “Cwiz” Ruiz and gave the book to him as a birthday present. I couldn’t imagine a better, more heartfelt present than that.

Each story was hilarious and made me laugh aloud while reading it. I couldn’t fathom how one person has done the insane amount of crazy things that Cwiz has, but I must say, I

I loved this book! It was funny and the chapters were super short; it's a great read for anyone who is on-the-go and can't dedicate long amounts of time to reading.
This memoir/biography follows the hilarious and oftentimes ridiculous stories Jeremy Rhyne and his best friend, Cwiz, lived through. They meet as teenagers in high school and get into a lot of trouble together. Like, put-dry-ice-in-a-coke-bottle-throw-it-in-your-friends-backyard-take-out-all-the-landscaping type of trouble. They did

Heartwarming and funny, I found myself laughing through the book. Author Jeremy Rhyne not only does a wonderful job of describing his best friend and their friendship through the years, but he also does a wonderful job showing how rewarding it can to be to not follow the beaten path in life and to really live life to the fullest.

This dad read “His Name is Cwiz: Lessons from a Lifelong Friendship” by debut author Jeremy Rhyne. A collection of memories from adolescence to adulthood, “Cwiz” recounts the author’s experiences and memories made with the title character Caesar “Cwiz” Ruiz. From their days pulling church youth group pranks all the way to raising children, this memoir has a journal-type feel that gives readers a front row seat to Cwiz’s global escapades.

Anyone who has ever spent any time as part of a church yout

I gave up on this one.
To be fair, I gave up on it due to the style of the actual book. I just don't like super short stories/essays like this. It doesn't keep my attention.

I did giggle along to a handful of the stories I did read. But I didn't feel connected to any of the characters. Felt like being at a party where you don't know anyone. Someone is telling stories of what someone else did in highschool and you pol

This was a really special and enjoyable memoir and one I definitely recommend. His Name is Cwiz is a heartwarming and humorous true story of two best friends and the incredible adventures they shared growing up in ’90s SoCal. These unbelievable stories include near-death experiences, celebrity meetings, pranks gone haywire, and aren’t only entertaining and hilarious, but inspiring as well. At a time of profound loneliness amid the pandemic, this inspirational book really hits home to the value a ...more

I had smiles from cover to cover. Sometimes outright side ache laughter. From the tape to Las Vegas to helping others. Great life lessons wrapped in a candy shell. We all wish we had a friend group like this!

This is a page-turning enjoyable read that will have you smiling and laughing out loud. The lives of these friends are almost too adventurous to believe, but it's all true. The vignettes are well written, and tied together with life lessons at the end of each. Unbelievably, the stories, which are organized roughly chronologically, lead almost to the present. 30+ years of living that we readers now get to enjoy. I look forward to a book about The Captain.

(PS, I would have given five stars, but I
