Viking Hearts #4

Viking Betrayed

Rate this book
A wife with a dark past... Two years ago, thief Helga Tannrsson made the fatal mistake of falling for her mark. To marry the man her heart desired, she faked her own death and adopted the noblewoman persona that had been her cover story when she'd met Ulf. Now Helga should be happy-she has the life of her dreams, yet she's caught in a trap of her own making. Living a lie is harder than she'd imagined, her deep-seated mistrust of men still haunts her, and she's unable to even bare her body to her husband when they make love. As Helga struggles to hold onto the fraying threads of her marriage, a shadow from her past reappears.
The Viking who loves her...
For much of his life, overseer of the city's defenses Ulf Eriksson felt unworthy of his prestigious family name. Claiming a Viking noblewoman as his bride had finally allowed him to hold his head high as an Eriksson brother. Yet all is not well within his marriage. He'd hoped that his beloved Helga would come to trust him, but she remains frustratingly closed-off and distant, not even disrobing for the marriage bed. When outlaws breach the city wall and are revealed to be Helga's kin, the shocking truth about his wife is laid bare. Devastated, shamed, and with his reputation in tatters, Ulf doubts whether his marriage was even real or just one long con. Had the thief that stole his heart ever loved him? And, after all the lies and betrayal can he trust her again?

To Catch A Thief💔💘of Hearts💕

ADULT Historical Viking 🐺⛵🔪 Romance💕 and Adventure, with Betrayal.
This interesting novella can be read in an hour or so. Ulf, the brother of the Jarl, finds out his beautiful wife is not a noble woman, but a thief! She has been hiding her past from him.

I also got this ebook with KU.

Not a lot of 🌎world building in this short book, but Ulf is a stone carver, a carver of rune stones, which I thought was interesting.
I wish the book could have been expanded on with a lot more about village life and the Viking society.

Hilda and Ulf had been married for a year but now her past was about to catch up with her. Hilda had secrets that she was keeping from her husband and his brother the Jarl and their village that cause Hilda and Ulf to experience doubt, danger, deception, lies and betrayal before they can find their HEA.

I’d read book 1 and some how missed book 2 & 3 book. This story was just as great and the first one. Great connection between the characters and to the reader. No dull moments it’s full of action, drama and love and some tears were shed in a few places.

I have been really enjoying Ree Thornton's Viking series. The books are great! This one was shorter, but just as good as the others.
I just wish there had been more world building.

Awful

Very badly written. Don’t waste your time reading. Riddled with inconsistencies. No sense of time or place. Terrible prose and grammar!

Short and sweet.

I loved that they were already married and they fought for their marriage. They fought for each other. Very good story.
