In the Shadow of Big Tech shows us a side of Silicon Valley we might not know about. Jeremie Gluckman Picard paints us a different picture of the hub of technological companies and startups through his multi-cultural lens and hunger to explore its true history. His call for us to explore more about these companies than just what they show us is an important fact of today’s world.

In his book In the Shadow of Big Tech, Jeremie Gluckman-Picard gives a genuine testimonial about the reality of Silicon Valley. They take us on a historical journey through the lens of his multi-cultural background. I thoroughly enjoyed the invitation to look at the history of the place we live in, and the call for humanizing technology and not be defined by what we do for work.”

Captivating stories revealing the power of proximity, timing and passion, but so much more than a behind the scenes read. As someone who grew up in a very different time and space, it's allowed me an insightful glimpse into a world I could only imagine. I found this so compelling! What makes this one exceptional for me is the author's offering to reflect on your own journey. It left me in a process of autoethnography, yielding discovery and a newfound perspective. Pair it with a chaise lounge at the White Lotus and get the self-development for free <3

This is an incredibly eye-opening and insightful take on how the fantasy of life in Silicon Valley may not match up with reality. I've always thought of Silicon Valley as representing Big Tech, but Jeremie gives us an honest behind the scenes look at what the underbelly of Silicon Valley is really like. Not only was this read very entertaining, but I also took away a new perspective on Silicon Valley.

In the Shadow of Big Tech helps bring a new fresh perspective of both old and new within the Tech business. Jeremie helps humanize the business world in a very personal way. He also writes about his own personal adventures as he climbs the corporate ladder: this alone is worth the read. I highly recommend this book. It's both informative and intriguing! This book is an eye opening account and helped me gained perspective as a new Bay Area resident, who moved here for work. It was fun to think of ways that I can make this place work for me and stay true to my values.

As a founder, I appreciated the multifaceted account of the origins and impact of the major industry of our times.

The vulnerable stories offer a new way of thinking about the work we do, especially around aspects of the human experience that are difficult to quantify.
