Not perfect, but definitely fun if you are a fan of The Bachelor! After the Fairy Tale follows a woman who returns to her home town after appearing on a Bachelor-style show as the show is airing. While there, she reconnects with a guy from high school. What was fun about this was the behind the scenes take on reality dating shows, and that definitely appealed to me as a long time viewer of the Bachelor franchise who knows a decent amount about how produced things actually are. On the other hand, ...more

This is story that could have been cute, but it failed in both writing and execution. First of all, this isn't an audio book. This is more like reader's theater. There is not one word of narration in this story. It is all dialogue. I think some will appreciate this. I did not. With pure scripted writing I feel like you REALLY need to have a visual to go with it. For example, there is really only one quality kiss in this story, but you couldn't tell what was going on at all. It would have been gr ...more

I never seen The Bachelor show, or anything like that before... but this story was much like that. I really enjoyed it - it was great on Audio. Full cast with sound effects and all that. Plus I LOVE Teddy Hamilton (one of the narrators). Short, sweet, light, and fun!

Oh my goodness, that was such a fun 🤩 treat! Full cast and high production (eg sound effects) which makes it more like an audible SHOW than a narrated “book”.

Great popcorn 🍿 brain 🧠 break! Good listen when you’re doing chores or driving If you’re casually interested in dating shows or watched UNREAL.

Included with audible membership.

SUMMARY: after being on the “bachelor” the “finance” returns home to hideout at her parents house while the show airs. As she watches the episodes, she starts to s

I was short and sweet. Timing was funny, I think I may give the 2021 Bachelor series a chance ;)

A wee bit too overacted...

My first experience with an audiobook *that came to life* was a good experience but unfortunately, After the Fairy Tale, was the opposite. I had one narrator blasting my eardrums, while the other was so faint, I had to keep replaying scenes to hear what they said. This was because the scenes were supposed to represent the characters talking on the phone. There were so much unnecessary background noises and it was nearly impossible to get the speed right. It was all too

This was not what I was expecting at all. I really needed a cute rom com today. Thats why I picked one, or so I thought? By the description I expected a confused heroine who was in a surface reality show relationship that she was unsure about, and the hometown boy she left behind. Instead we get a heroine who is 100% in love with the reality show guy. A “hero” who pines after her, who she is constantly sending mixed messages to even though she in love with someone else. The we get a pathetic her ...more

Okay, I'm a sucker for a love story, but I'm a bigger sucker for Teddy Hamilton.

So, obviously he's the reason I listened and I am so glad I did.

This was fun and flirty and sweet and a nice change from the easy HEAs I'm used to reading.
I liked that this was a bit different.
I found it entertaining, the full cast did an outstanding job of keeping me engaged, and I will be telling all my friends to listen.

Ok, so when it comes to this audiobook, I think that the story and I just weren't getting along. I honestly think that there are people out there who will love this book. For me, it felt a little too much like cheating for most of the book for it to really be my taste.

That said, I thought the audio production was super well done.

This was another one of the Audible Originals that is a short story or a novella. It is also one with a full cast that is more like a production than the normal audio version of books.

This story is somewhat of a spoof on the Bachelor Franchise and it was great to listen to this today, when the actual Bachelorette finale was tonight. It was great to see things from a different side and I enjoyed the premise quite a bit.

The funny thing is that I've read Reality Steve's website spoilers f

Good book the audio sometimes was to loud over the narration but they did amazing! I did enjoy it but the getting swept up in the show and lost in it, not knowing what’s real.... or what’s real to you pulls something away for me.

The audiobook was very well done with a full cast, but the story as a whole was... meh.

Read it to read the book version of the bachelor in the short break until the next one airs. This was cute, but don't go looking for a main character who makes good decisions or bases her entire life on anything but the next boy she's with (but also....what did I expect?) ...more

SO CUTE. I found myself getting upset at Amanda for her choices because I was so deeply invested in this book. 😂
If you’re a fan of the Bachelor/Bachelorette this is a must read!

This book was so predictable that it was painful to listen to.

Amanda was constantly doing stupid things. You are engaged but you going out on dates with other men while you are suppose to lay low. Then you kissing people outside where people can take you photo and blow your cover. I mean really.

Oh the ending - Steven Wonder and Ray Charles could have seen that coming.

Excellent audio quality but dismal storyline. I loved all the different sound effects but the plot and character development was weak.

Oh wow. These reviews are harsh!

I will say I’m a fan of reality dating shows and I love the bachelor so this book was really fun to read.

This audio was different for me. I loved loved all the different voices for the characters but it took me maybe an hour to get into the actual audio part. I’ve never listened to one with background noise and almost like they were reading in an open room. You could hear the space.

Once I got used to it, it was almost refreshing because it seemed more real!

This is a radio play, an original and was lent for free with their new audible plus program. It was a nice little reprieve from heavier readings. Listening to this title reinforced the opinion that these types of audiobooks are not for me.
Cute-ish story. I feel like I was hit over the head with the mother/daughter dynamic.

Story: ~2*
Ultimate cotton candy - short, fluffy, silly, entertaining, enjoyable, entirely devoid of substance and immediately forgettable. In fact, the less you try to think about it and the sooner you forget it - the better.

Audiobook: 5+*
The audio book production is wonderful, making it a very pleasant chatter in your ears when you need that sort of thing.

Disappointing and mostly unlikeable characters

OVERALL: I was drawn to this audiobook after finishing Call Me Maybe by Cara Bastone (which I **LOVED**). This is my first book from any of the authors (Terence Grey, Erin Day, or Ian Thake) and first experience with most of the narrators (minus Teddy Hamilton).

STORYLINE: Alright, so I’ll admit… I don’t watch any dating reality tv shows, and honestly, this highlighted a lot of the reasons I don’t watch them. And maybe that’s why I didn’t love this. I

This story was okay. I love the Bachelor so I was excited for this story. I think this story would have been so much better if it wasn’t an Audible Original full cast situation. If it was a regular book I think I would have enjoyed it a lot more.

Audiobook Performance: So let me start by saying the narrators were fantastic. There performances were not the issue. I’m not really a huge fan of the audiobooks with all the sounds and full cast but there have been a few t

This was an entertaining audio version of The Bachelor. I am not a huge fan of the show because it always boggles my mind how 20 women can fall in love with one guy after a big group date, and really this audiobook captured a little bit of the craziness and behind the scenes of the show. The cast was amazing for this productions, Teddy Hamilton is always a favorite and the voice for Liam was completely drool-worthy! The only negative for me was that the volume was all over the place
