The adventures of Nick and Nora return in book four, HISS H FOR HOMICIDE. Someone murders author Marlene McCambridge who’s written a tell-all memoir and made plenty of enemies over the years. It’s a pleasurable task as a reader to try and figure out who the killer is among the list of suspects with plausible motives the author offers in the plot.

Nick, a most savvy kitty, is up to his usual body-sniffing ways and detects a second crime! The mystery is entertaining and absorbing and has humor thro

Nick and Nora Charles are back in this fun and twisty mystery. Of course, Nick is now a handsome tuxedo cat with a propensity for finding clues then finding ways to clue in his human sleuther. A romance novelist threatens to publish a tell-all that aims at her partner, other romance novelists and former lovers, but is murdered before it's published. As you can imagine, this is fertile ground for a good cozy that is well cultivated by the author. Thanks to netgalley and the publisher for the oppo ...more

Princess Fuzzypants here: It has been too long since I last visited with Nick and Nora Charles, not the film version but the literary one. Nick, a handsome debonair gentle-cat always well groomed in his tuxedo and Nora, his partner in crime detection found a new literary home and their fans, including me, are delighted. It was worth the wait.

They have come back with a good mystery. The writing partner of a friend of her mother’s has announced she is breaking up the partnership. Desiree, her moth

I was pleasantly surprised when I read this book! A cat detective - what a treat! Oh, and a human, too. Nick and Nora are a fun crime-solving couple! Because this is book 4 of the series, I've put the first three books on hold at my library so I can catch up!

This was an easy read for me! The characters are engaging even though I hadn't read the previous books. Nick was the most engaging yet frustrating cat I've ever met. He was perfect! He and Nora led the reader on a merry chase to catch a kill

I'm glad this series is back. I really want to know what is going on with human Nick! I enjoyed the mystery and it kept me guessing. I like the characters, and love cat Nick.

I'm really glad this series is back. I enjoy the characters and the stories are always fast paced and keep you guessing until the end. I do have some issues with actions taken by the main character: I'm all for the amateur sleuth asking questions and getting involved in the investigation but she takes it too far at times. A good twisty mystery with great characters and a very smart and cute cat. It reminds me a bit of The Cat Who series... I have never read this series before nor did I need to to enjoy this book. I will be picking up the rest of this series soon.

Enjoy! I sure did.

Hiss H for Homicide by T. C. LoTempio is the 4th book in the Nick and Nora Mystery series, and I am thrilled to see the series back. It has been around 5 years since the last book, glad a new publisher picked up the series. Nora Charles has agreed to help her mother's friend, by looking into her ex-writing partner writing of a tell all book. When the ex partner turns up dead, Nora and her trusty cat, Nick are on the case. What a great cozy mystery series, I highly recommend it. I will be forward ...more

Someone REALLY did not want the author to publish that Tell All book! Nora makes an appointment to see the temperamental author visiting town, but Nick the cat finds her body when they get there. Nora is a freelance journalist, runs a sandwich shop, has one old boyfriend working as temporary local Homicide detective, and the current one is FBI. But it's the cat who shows her where the clues are (and he is certainly NOT a sleek Siamese!). If you like stories where the cat is the star and the sleu ...more

I'm so happy because I missed Nick&Nora as this is one of my favourite series.
I had a lot of fun reading this story and I couldn't put it down as I was turning pages as fast as I could.
It was great to catch up with the characters: they are well thought and likeable as usual.
The mystery is fast paced, full of twists and turns, and the solution came as a surprise. There's plenty of secrets, a very unlikeable victim, had a very clever cat that will help to solve the mystery.
As I'm not a fun of love

When Nora and Nick Charles stumble upon the body of the woman Nora was tasked to find, she’s thrown into yet another mystery. I was given a free e-copy of this novel by NetGalley in exchange for my honest opinion.

I have never read a novel by T.C. LoTempio before, but I will definitely go back to the beginning of this series. You can read this book as a standalone, because the author has provided enough information for the reader to know that there are other novels in the timeline but it's not really relevant to the current novel.

Nora Charles receives a visit from an old friend of her mother. This friend is also a famou

Enjoyable.

In an attempt to attract more business Nora Charles has put up a TV in her lunchroom. More people come in, to watch TV (as if they don't have a set in their own home), but most are too preoccupied with the moving pictures to order at the counter.

Perhaps for the better, as Nora herself is a little too preoccupied with trying to solve a murder to run her business. It's good thing her friend Chantal is there to man the counter or Nora would probably not have a business anymore. (Why Chant

One of the best things ever for a reader to hear is the news that a much loved series, thought to be ended, has been revived. When I found out that Nick and his human, Nora, were coming back for their fourth mystery I did the joy joy dance. I was not disappointed with Hiss H for Homicide. Welcome back, Nick and Nora.

Very good. Enjoyed it. The kindle said 190 pages but I think there were more. These are usually over 200. I had always thought they could be shorter and when I seen only 190 pages listed on the kindle after years of waiting for a new installment I was disappointed that it was only 190. But it was more and I still felt near the end that it could have been shorter.

It was a long wait between book 3 and book 4 of this charming cat and sleuth cozy series. Berkley stopped publishing them in 2016. I am very happy that Beyond the Page is now supporting LoTempio.
Fans will remember that Nick (the cat) and Nora (the human) solve mysteries in the style of the Golden Age sleuths Nick and Nora Charles. The wit and banter are there. The martinis and Asta are not. Of course not. Nick is a cat! . The cozy offers everything a reader wants. A fast paced plot, a good sett

I liked this one very much and the not so subtle nod to the iconic mystery solving married couple, Nick and Nora Chase. Furry Nick is quite the charmer and a very talented feline but his penchant for Scrabble tiles and ability to get his point across to Nora. Nora is a feisty former investigative reporter who is as smart as she is stubborn. I had no problem keeping up with the plot or the characters. I will point out that I am not a fan of the more than one romantic possibility but if Special Ag ...more

I have not read any books by this author before, but I would be interested in reading more in this series.

Nora Charles and her sidekick kitty, Nick, have found another body. A prolific (and rather horrible) author has turned up dead. Unfortunately, a dear friend of Nora's mother is the prime suspect. As the plot thickens, however, multiple new and dangerous suspects come into the mix. Nora's investigative reporter background kicks in and she and Nick are putting the pieces together to solve the

When a friend of Nora's late mother calls asking for a meeting, Nora just can't say no.
How is she to even think this is going to be a life and death situation?
A whisker twisting tale of deceit and secrets best left untold.

If you have ever wondered about the interaction of competing authors, or even how authors collaberate, this book will fascinate you.

I always like to choose the cat mysteries. This one has so many things that didn't quite make sense to me. Like when was this supposed to take place? She mentions an expensive Cadillac El Dorado driving by, which they stopped making in 2002. She also named sandwiches after Seth Green and Megan Fox neither of which are in their Hollywood heyday anymore. I have cats but the mention of allowing Nick on the counter in the sandwich shop grossed me out not to mention it being a health code violation. ...more

I'm not sure how I missed books 2 and 3, but I didn't feel as if I were missing anything. So, if you haven't read the first 3, don't let that stop you from jumping in here!
