“The Secrets We Keep” by Nikki Lee Taylor was a heart-wrenching story about how secrets can destroy!

Sophie has been self-isolating in her house for the past five year’s morning the loss of her husband James and her son Josh. The few pleasures she embraces is her rescue dog Miss Molly, her at-home editing job and her handsome and caring boss, Bastian. The attraction she feels towards Bastian is mutual and satisfying, and even though he is married, she feels safe knowing he is there.

Thanks NetGalley, BooksGoSocial and Nikki Lee Taylor for a copy to review.
A heart breaking intense story about motherhood, loss, grief, love, sacrifices, hope and second chances.
This is not a book you easily read or forget about, it's incredibly hard sometimes to go through some parts of it...the unimaginable pain of Sophie's loss and her crippling grief...the unthinkable horrors the sisters endured in that trailer not only by their criminal of a father but mostly by their indifferent mother wh

I love a slow build up story with all the bits of clues to lead up to the finale at the end.
The secrets we keep gave me that. I was clueless at the begining of the book. As I read on.. everything started to connect.

The author was able to create a traumatized Madeley-May. I could feel her pain and her past that was troubling her. She was lost and she couldn't function because of what had happened to her.
She was a survivor but she suffered from PTSD so she couldn't have a loving relationship with

This novel had quite a few twists and turns -- so many that it strains credibility -- but the twists are so juicy that I couldn't stop reading. The book touches on so many sources of pain -- addressing each with intelligence, empathy, and humanity. The author builds strength into each of her characters and helps us see different sides to them -- what are their motivations? However, the book never becomes preachy -- the whole way through, and especially at the end, it is a true thriller in women' ...more

I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

I loved the book. I read it in less than 24 hours. The author writes beautifully and kept me entertained for a good amount of time. There are some typos still in there, so it would be wise to proofread the manuscript again.

Aside from that, the book was entertaining (some things predictable) and I would love to read what happens with Sophie, Bastian & Madelyn-May, and the kids. Another thing I would like the auth

The discription and the way it is written you could really picture everything the author was describing. Would make an excellent movie or TV series absolutely loved it.

This is one intense, twisted, addictive, complex, jaw-dropping novel! Not only is this a very well-written book with wonderfully-interesting characters, but the suspense builds at just the right pace as the story unfolds.

*I received a complimentary ARC of this book in order to read and provide a voluntary, unbiased and honest review, should I choose to do so.
