The Reed Brothers #11.5

A Reed Brothers Christmas at Lake Fisher

Rate this book
Lake Fisher is known as a place where miracles happen. The Reed Brothers are hoping for a miracle of their own — to be able to take a vacation for one solid week with no paparazzi showing up. They descend upon Lake Fisher hoping for quiet, but they find a lot more. They find a lovely community of people that welcomes them with open arms. In true Reed brothers style, they get to spread a little Christmas cheer and perform a few miracles of their own.

THIS BOOK IS NOT A STAND-ALONE ROMANCE. It relies heavily on the prior books in the series.

This book is told from the points of view of the five Reed brothers, Edward, and the wives. If you have not read the other books in the series, you won’t be lost, as long as you know the brothers. Find out who’s having babies, who’s getting in what shenanigans, and find out about new romances that might be brewing in this charming novella.

Tammy Falkner lives on a farm in a lovely, sprawling little town in rural NC with her beekeeper husband and a house full of boys, a few dogs, and a cat or two (or five – who has time to count?). As half of the Lydia Dare team, she has co-written ten books, including the Westfield Wolves series and the Gentlemen Vampyre series. A huge fan of Regency England, she often wonders what other kinds of magical, mythical and strange creatures might live and interact within the ton. Exploring the theory that the fae can walk between Regency England and their own land, Tammy spends as much time as possible with the lords and ladies of society, horse-drawn carriages, and elegant balls. Now add to that some faeries, a little murder, a bit of mayhem, and a troublesome garden gnome, and you have her exciting new series. She hopes you enjoys her world as much as she does.

Tammy Falkner writes beautiful stories about love, compassion and hope like a boss. This novella, just like its predecessor will wrapper your heart all the best, warm fuzzy feelings. It’s a perfect Christmas read.

The Reed family has grown exponentially and they’ve become so famous it’s difficult for them to get away from the public eye. But the eldest Reed brother has given them a wonderful Christmas gift, a full week at Lake Fisher all to themselves where we get to catch up on all the brothers, the Zeroes, Edward (from Don’t Doubt), Jake from (Feels like Summertime) and we get a glimpse of what I’m hopeful will become a new book by the talented Tammy Falkner.

This wouldn’t be a Reed Brothers book without some form of good will and kindness bestowed by the Reeds that is brimming with thoughtfulness and hope.
“Christmas becomes a miracle when we reach out with our hearts and minds, so that everyone can experience the same blessings.”

You can’t miss love that’s palpable between each couple, and in a family that’s full of good hearted men and women ready to open their hearts to those who need it most.
“Right now. Right here. With you. And them.” I let my eyes fall on my kids one by one. “Every day that comes is the best day. Always better than the last.”

Falkner also bestows invaluable wisdom, this time it’s something I’ll be able to use for my own sons about relationships and choosing the right person.
“Be willing to change for the right girl, but not to make any concessions for the wrong one… Smart, funny, and kind.”

And then there’s the humor with the wisdom which never fails to put a smile on my face.
“First I coffee, then I live.”

Facts: A Reed Brothers Christmas at Lake Fisher is a novella by Tammy Falkner. Told by various points of view. It can be read as a standalone as the author does a very good job at summarizing the brothers’ stories. Reed Brothers fans will definitely go wild over this short story. Genres: Contemporary romance

It’s Christmas, and the Reed brothers and all of their family and friends are descending upon Lake Fisher for the holidays, providing us with a great opportunity to catch up with the boys that I love so dearly.

This is definitely not a standalone. It’s one for the fans, with each chapter written in a different character’s POV, giving us quick peek into their lives. It’s only focussing on the original Reed Brothers and their girls, though the Zero girls and all of the extras from the follow on books (which I haven’t read) do appear. There are also chapters from Edward (from book #11, Don't Doubt)and Seth (squee – Seth!) and, in a series mash-up, we also see Jake and Katie from Feels like Summertime (the first of the Lake Fisher books).

The family is coming together and doing what they do best – hanging out and being there for each other, and spreading the Christmas love to those who need it most. It’s a bit cheesy in places, but it stays true to the series, and it’s got a really sweet Christmasy vibe.

I admit, I lost a bit of interest in this series when it spun-off away from the original boys, so I was looking forward to catching up and seeing where they are all at, but even after reading this book I don’t have a clear picture of the family group. There are so many kids, with not a lot of detail about who belongs to who, and how all of the family groups are doing now, so many years after we first met them. That was a bit disappointing, but I still enjoyed seeing them all together, still happily in love with their girls, and enjoying each other as they always have. Plus, there’s a fantastic little bonus for Logan and Emily fans!!

It's a cute, short read, and I’m glad I read this one. I’m feeling the need for a series reread very soon!

3 stars.

Everyone in the Reed brothers universe has my whole heart. I love these characters and these books so much, they're not perfect but have a heart and warmth that I can't resist.

I read the Reed brothers series for the first time years ago (I'm pretty sure I binged it all in 2017, except for the two novellas and full novel that came out after that) and since then I've been re-reading random scenes from all the books whenever I felt like it. But I've been meaning to do a complete re-read of it for a while and after some more years, I've finally finished it. Pretty sure my re-read started in 2020, and the more it took me to finish it the more time I wanted to take so I didn't have to say goodbye to these characters. But it's done and it feels bittersweet, I'm happy everyone has found their happy ever after but I'll miss them :(

I don't know why but I had to force myself to finish this one. I have really liked all of the other books in this series but just found this one difficult. Also, not looking forward to Seth's book after this. I struggled with Paul and Friday's story since he was with other people after they met (many, many other people) even though he had feelings for her but somehow convinced myself it was okay because he thought she was gay. It just goes against everything the Reed brothers' believe in to even want to be with other people after you meet "the one" (didn't have a lot of respect for Paul after that) and same should go for Seth! I felt like his family should have lectured the crap out of him for his behavior, not been totally on his side! I love the idea that this family is there for each other no matter what, but they still need to knock some sense into each other when they're in the wrong because I know Matt and Sky and Kendra should have taught you to treat women better than that. Anywayyyyyy to end my rant, he shouldn't get to end up with the girl he wants because she deserves better than that and I am not against casual sex, just against the manwhore trope and sleeping with other people when you have feelings for someone.

I received this free eARC novel from the author. This is my honest review.

I am in love with this novel. The Reed Brothers series is my all time favorite, and the Lake Fisher series is a close second, so putting the two together? It is magical and amazing and I couldn't ask for a more fantastic novel. Though I know that the next book Tammy Falkner writes will be another beautiful masterpiece, because everything she writes is!

Seeing all of the characters come together to celebrate the holidays away from fans and tv sets was really wonderful. These are the characters we met from the beginning, and seeing them happy and healthy and giving made me ecstatic.

I adored the scenes with Pop, as always, and I loved the sneak peak with Seth. THAT is going to be a great story which I hope Tammy is already plotting out his book?!? Though I bet the idea of writing all of the Reed kids' novels would be intimidating lol!

Every time I read about the Reeds and their passion for helping and giving, it makes me want to be like them and be a better person. It makes me emotional and it gives me hope that there are good people like them out in the world.

Also, I loved that we got to see another baby Reed in this book! Gah, I now feel like rereading the entire 20 book series because I just love this world so much!

I'm so glad I got the chance to read this eARC and I will be recommending this book (and series) to everyone I know... again!

It's been a while since I read the other 20 books of the series, but it felt like coming home! The gang was all here! And the Reed Brothers family continued to grow! I thought Author Tammy Falkner did an amazing job of writing with some back story filler on the characters, without taking away from the present. It was little nuggets that helped the understanding of the story for someone that may have not read the entire series, or hadn't even started it yet. I was so glad to be able to catch up with the Reeds and still be true to my December Christmas Themed reading! I don't have a tattoo on my body, but if I ever decide to get one, I'm heading to the Reed Brothers Tattoo Shop!

Coming together

This is a heart warming conjoing of a popular set of characters amd a new town. The author calls you back by weaving the story of two very generous families that I am sure we will continue to read about.

Christmas is family

Great story of family who struggled growing up and shows what true love and sacrifice is. Staying together through everything. Giving back to others when they can. This shows how simple acts can save others.
