She was the hot diner waitress putting herself through school.
I was the rich, arrogant player everyone misjudges.

On paper we didn’t match.

Yet all it took was one day. One single day to change her mind.

She wasn’t planning to spend her day off with me.
She wasn’t supposed to fall for my charm.
But one day, one smile, turned into seve

“Sometimes the right person comes out of nowhere. When you’re not looking for love is sometimes when you actually find it.”

I love Meghan Quinn’s sports romances and I was so happy to be back in her Brentwood baseball world.

Holt Green is one of the original guys from the Brentwood team and though I loved the last few books that focused on them as adults in the big leagues, it was really nice to have this one take place completely on Brentwood as a new adult romance.

Thank goodness for the #towelbrigade and their sexy, fun and swoon worthy stories! I'm so happy that I'm finishing up the year with this book. It put smiles on face and made my heart flutter all throughout.

Plot : THE STRIKE OUT starts off with Holt Green along with this baseball buddies Knox Gentry (The Locker Room), Carson Stone (The Dugout) and Jason Orson (The Lineup) drunk off their a$$, talking about the benefits of male thongs, while ordering burgers with a very unimpressed waitr

FIVE EXTREMELY ROMANTIC STARS for Harmony and Holt 💜🖤💜🖤!!!

I don’t know how she manages it, but Meghan wrote another romantic and funny book that stole my heart.

When I found out that Meghan was planning to publish another book from the #towelbrigade series, I was extremely happy because this was the series that made me fall in love with her writing.

"The Strike Out" is a college sports romance with enemies to lovers trope which you won’t be able to stop reading once yo

Oh my gosh. OH MY GOSH. What an absolutely BEAUTIFUL book! Listen, I've been in a book slump for a while now, and whenever a new MQ book comes on my kindle I immediately stop what I'm doing and start reading, and seeing as how I've been not so patiently waiting for Holt's story after that tease in the Team Player 2 anthology, I just KNEW my heart would be ripped to pieces. But oh, how glorious it the heartbreaking process was!

I say this every single time, but I do declare that I have a new favo

There’s no doubt that 2020 has been a hard year on all of us. We’ve all been dealt some kind of blow whether it be job loss, sickness, or fear. One of the things that have kept me afloat during it all has been books. Sure, there were times when I couldn’t even stomach reading but for the most part, getting lost in novels has been my escape. As 2020 comes to a close I can officially say I’ve ended the year with many amazing books under my

Going into this journey I was already familiar with Holt and Harmony’s chemistry. If you read the Team Player 2 anthology, you should be too, but that’s not important. What’s important is that I didn’t have to wait more than a page or two before I was all in with these two and the short novella that I had read in the anthology came flooding back to me! I loved these two something fierce and I also loved the choices Meghan made for their journey. It’s rare for me to be this close to 100% on board

I am not ashamed to say that I may have ogled him..I mean come on! Does that guy just SCREAM Holt?!

I devoured this book. I loved the banter between Holt and Harmony.
Holt is a gem. I couldn’t help but snicker at his antics..his over the top flirting, his ridiculous innuendos..this guy just makes you smile.

Meghan Quinn fans, please don’t cancel me after I give this review. I love her just as much as you do but this book was just not it for me. I had high hopes for Holt but they came crashing down pretty quickly after starting The Strike Out.

What I Loved
* Holt and Harmony’s witty banter
* Holt’s friendship with my favorite baseball players
* The world’s best wing woman, Priya, should get her own book. I NEED IT.

Where it Went Wrong
* Holt’s awful decision making and weird insecurities

One of Brentwood University’s best baseball players, Holt is school royalty. He could have any girl he wants, anytime, but he doesn’t have much time for just any girl—he’s waiting for that special someone. After a night out with the boys, he meets a diner waitress who also happens to be a junior like him, Harmony. And Holt is instantly smitten but unlucky for him, Harmony wants nothing to do with him. Harmony is attending BU on partial scholarship and has a thing against entitled athletes, espec ...more

„Don’t be scared, babe, be happy.”

Can someone pick me up from the floor, please? I swooned so hard that I can’t get up now! The Strike Out is officially my favorite book in the Brentwood Baseball series. I loved every single one of them, but there’s something special about Holt and Harmony’s story that got me straight in the feels. Maybe it's the perfect combination of tenderness and humor. Maybe it’s the unrestrained passion in the purest form. Or maybe it’s the perfectly imperfect characte

Having struggled with The Setup (I’ve been stuck at 20% since it released but I’m determined to not DNF it), I was a little bit apprehensive going into The Strike Out because of how excited I’ve been for Holt and his mystery woman since reading The Locker Room over a year ago. But I should’ve known that Meghan did right by our boy Holt, and he was everything I wanted and more, and his girl was his perfect match.

Holt Green is in a class all by himself. He is what other men strive to be. I fell in love with his obnoxious flirting, over the top innuendos and warm heart. His story has surpassed others in the series as my fav.

I loved Harmony just as hard. I loved that she made Holt work. Her snarky comebacks made their banter so much better.

These two were brought together for a reason and meant to be the other one's half. They completed the other and had an undeniable connection.

I loved every single bit of this book. Meghan really brought her A-game with this one.

Holt and Harmony were created for each other. I love their dynamics – even from the rough get-go.

Holt is one their college's star baseball players. He may come across as being full of himself and arrogant, but once you get to know him, you realize it's truly a front. He has one the sweetest hearts and is extremely comfortable in his skin. His parents raised him very well.

The Strike Out is another hit straight out of the park for Meghan Quinn in her Brentwood Baseball series. We haven't seen Holt much since The Locker Room/The Dug Out as best friend to Carson and Knox, but it was so good to have his story told!

Holt is a cheeky chappy kind of man but with a heart of pure gold and a huge romantic at heart. When he meets Harmony it's almost love at first sight for him and he is determined to get a date with the curvy Brazilian beauty. Harmony is a girl with a goal i

There's a little tongue in cheek reference to extended separations in this that made me laugh and think, "okay, this series might just be back on track." Because... yeah, I'm still mad about the last one. Thankfully, there's nothing rage-inducing about this love story - it's banter-filled, playful, and STEAMY. Don't get me started on the fact that these two act like 16-year-old idiots but bang like 30-year-old experts, because I really did like a lot of it, and I'm choosing to focus on that. It' ...more

I Floved This Book! Just absolutely loved it. When you are cracking up before the end of page 2, you know it’s going to be an awesome read! And The Strike Out from Meghan Quinn starts 2021 off with a freaking bang! Holt and Harmony are just an addicting couple to read about and they were simply wonderful. This is not just a college romance, it is an epic love story that involves trust, loyalty, honesty, commitment and love. It was a witty, emotional, and completely addictive read.

Holt and Harmony are an unlikely pair. Harmony thinks Holt is an entitled baseball player, but once she lets her walls down, she finds out that Holt is more than he appears. Holt and Harmony have a bit of an instalove connection, but things end up happening, and I really enjoyed the return to the baseball university that Meghan Quinn has created.

The Strike Out is part of Meghan's interconected Baseball stories. In this one we get Holt and Harmony's story whilst seeing some of our favourite characters once more.

Driven and determined Harmony doesn't have time for distractions. In Harmony's mind guys are a distraction that she doesn't have time for. Baseball players in particular as past experience with sporty guys had left her bitter and untrusting.

The moment Holt sees Harmony he is determined to make her his. His not just for a good ti

I fell kinda hard for Holt and Harmony in the Team Player 2 anthology, and all we got there was the very start of their journey, so I was all kinds of excited to get my greedy little hands on the rest and I was not disappointed. Holt and Harmony’s sexy, hilarious, emotional, and swoon-worthy love story was absolutely brilliant and completely exceeded all of my expectations and more!

Eek! It pains me that I didn’t love this more than I hoped to. It was still good, but a few personal gripes of mine were hard to ignore.

It begins as a bit of an enemies-to-lovers romance, with Harmony harbouring a grudge against the Brentwood athletes and their privilege of having everything handed to them. Working at a diner to pay her way through journalism studies, it was such a perfect first encounter with Holt as she doesn’t hold back her opinions of him.

Holt Green. He is on a whole different level. He has so many different layers. I love that he isn’t the typical spoiled, rich, jerk baseball player. He has such a positive outlook on life, he lives it to the absolute fullest and he is just over the top in the best possible ways. Harmony Styles. She is hard working. She is full of sass. She can banter back and forth with Holt like it’s her job. She’s been hurt in the past when it comes to athletes, so I loved that she doesn’t give into Holt easil ...more

The Strike Out by Meghan Quinn is such a good read.

I enjoyed the storyline, it's well written, entertaining from start to end and I loved watching Holt and Harmony's relationship unfold.

I remember in Knox’s book, Holt was always texting someone and we didn’t know who. Well, this is Holt’s book and now we know he was texting Harmony. He was diligent in his pursuit of her and I loved these 2 together. He was funny, sweet and knew what he wanted with Harmony.
