I see my other lives, a career in the Marines, those damn hand-written tests in law school, a business consultant, as if they're stories from a book. I see my books as if I lived there, as if I were friends with the characters. All things we remember are behind us, only those we imagine lie before.
I'm not sure which place I prefer, but I don't have to choose. They live together in my mind. My books have some award nominations, they have bestseller tags across multiple countries. I write about justice, honor, and loyalty because that's what I care about. My stories are mostly set within worlds that haven't been, but could be. We have to be ready for when those times come.
No matter where I went, I always had a book with me. Thanks to 21st Century technology, I now have hundreds of books loaded on my phone and always with me. This breakthrough allows me to binge read my favorites. How many books would I have read on deployments had I not had to have a physical book with me? I paced myself so I wouldn't finish too quickly.
We aren't encumbered like that now. I love the works of Robert Heinlein, Anne McCaffrey, JRR Tolkien, Robert E. Howard, and so many more. I have been compared to Andre Norton and that is humbling - she was an incredible author with a huge list of novels to her credit. With every new book, I aspire to live up to those that you, the readers, have compared me to.
Through a bizarre series of events, I ended up in Fairbanks, Alaska. I never expected to retire to a place where golf courses are only open for four months out of the year. But that's the way it is. It is off the beaten path. My wife and I get to watch the northern lights from our driveway. Our dog has lots of room to run. And temperatures reach fifty below zero. We have from three and a half hours of daylight in the winter to twenty-four hours in the summer.
It's all part of the give and take of life. If we didn't have those extremes, then everyone would live in the sub-arctic.
TH and family are back and ready to help in their own special way
Terry Henry is in space now. He's been given all the upgrades he needs to fit in with his new place in The Queen's special project, Bad Company. Nathan has been given a blank check to use righting wrongs that can be done in a way that traces back to The Queen. TH and his crew will become Bad Company's Direct Action branch. Meaning, they're going to be kicking butt for them on a whole new scale.
I just finished reading last book in this series and I highly recommend it. I miss the struggle of survival that TH had on Earth, but his new mission to bring justice to the universe is something special too.
I wonder why it took me so long to finish up on this series. I read the Nomad series a couple of years ago but went on to other books and left this on in my TBR pile. During a recent health scare I found myself with tons of time on my hands and decided to read this series, all seven books in a row. So glad I made the time. Great series! Glad I took the time! I went ahead and pulled up the reading list and have found a few more books I missed. I'll be reading them next. Thanks for always having something to do. To sum it up, great read!
This last book is packing a lot of action as it involves not only the Bad Company but Marcie and Kae forming the nucleus of a major military force that can not only project power but also is capable to take ground and to hold it. While this is going on, the Bad Company has asked Ted to help them go back to Benitus to deal with the resurgence of the Skrima. Both of these threads are full of the kind of action that the reader will enjoy while at the same time we see the dedication to duty shown by a character that observes that they are many different things, but at the core they are soldiers who complete their mission so that others who depend on them can do their own. Honor, Courage and Commitment will remain the core values! This is a great finish for an excellent story arc!
Give it a try I did, it's got a story line I like but the type of characters for me I could not work with. There was vampires werewolves and all had a human form which was among other forms and I personally struggled with. The story line I had read was the sort of thing I read but could not get the characters. Personally I have it a go why don't you try something different to what you normally read.
There should be 10 stars! The action, well developed characters and really humorous dialogue just has you reading longer than you should. I had read the books that came before with Bethany Anne as the protagonist and so the story of The Bad Company was this amazing, sometime parallel journey. Andersen and Martelle are a go to when I want to have a series that gets a grip on me and is hard to put down. Char and Terry Henry and their family- love them all!
This set of books was just as expected! It finished out Terry Henry and Chad's series perfectly! The new characters and the old friends melded well and the plots were compelling and easy to follow! Hopefully, there will be other series involving the Waltons and all of their friends!! On to the next adventures created by these capable, imaginative and wonderful authors! Catch you on the far side!!
Follow their Queen and reach for the stars to take on the evil in outer space. Terry Henry Walton , his wife Charamuti and her pack and the FDG are requested by BA to work for The Bad Company. Bad intel, squirmishes, an unexpected death and battles to end all battles, TH leads the group to help the Federation without others realising they are helping. A definite must read that is hard to put down until the very last page.
Just finished reading all 7 books in the series and could not stop reading them until I had finished all of the books. If you like outstanding military science fiction with lots of action and really good characters then you must read this series it is one of the best that I have ever had the pleasure of reading.
What a great follow-up to the Terry Henry Whalton Chronicles
Taking a great story of an honorbound marine surviving the end of normal life on Earth in an engaging the unreal life after world's worst day ever then following him as he had in the space to bring his honour bound duty and courage two different situations on different planets such a fun read
I cannot recommend this series enough. It's full of action and humor. The characters are so well written. By the end, you wish you could meet them and spend some time with them. You will have trouble putting the book (or Kindle in my case) down, and will be a little sad when it's over.
I loved every story on the boxset, they were full of humour, action and drama. A former marine, Terry Henry (TH) Walton, leads a rag-tag group of family members, werewolves, vampires, shifters, humans, enhanced pets and aliens in his quest to troubleshoot the minor uprisings of the galaxy. This is sci-fi at its best!
I've read and reread all the Terry Walton books and love them more every time. From his introduction early with Bethany Anne I wanted to know more and Craig knocks it out of the park. The FDG in space gives the characters a chance to grow. Definitely read this series
What with Bethany -Ann enhancing Terry Henry and him working to make Earth a better place to live, to sending him and his group into the Universe to expand his brand of Justice. TH joins the Bad Company and dispenses Justice to all in his way.
Great series, could have almost stopped before the last book
Love the characters and story. The last book was two okay storylines that didn't make for one great book. It did set up the next series, but at the cost of what could have been a great ending.
We definitely need a television series based on this series! I read a lot, but there are not many that feel my attention like these have. I can't wait to see what you come up with in the future. Thank you so much
It kept me wanting to read more and more. I starting reading the Kutherian Gambit series starting with Death Becomes Her and have been intrigued in the series ever since.
I have read a lot of fantasy books, with the latest in the future with space travel. The pace was fast and furious and that I enjoyed. A lot of swearing though!
