Rate this book
Someone is killing lawyers, but a particular vampire lawyer won’t stay dead.Donovan Trait is a marked man. He is flamboyant, stunningly handsome, and notoriously insatiable, but his attitude and style belie his skills in the courtroom. No one survives a cross-examination at Donovan’s hands. His knowledge of the law and trial practice has accumulated over the years… and years, of experience. More than three hundred years. You see, when Donovan isn’t seducing judges and juries, he’s a creature of the night. And now that someone has decided that it’s time to kill all lawyers, his lust for attention has set him in the murderer’s sights. The problem is that vampires don’t die. Not easily, anyway. That’s good news for Donovan, not so much for his very human lady love, also a target of the serial killer. Will several unsuccessful attempts on his life expose Donovan’s true nature? Will the killer learn the secret that will guarantee a permanent death? Or will Donovan finally manage to put an end to the killer’s murderous spree and live happily ever after, with his lady love?

First, We Kill All the Lawyers is the first book in the Donovan Trait series by Seelie Kay and it really was such a fun read. This is a little different than the other books of hers that I have read- but just as intriguing, clever, and well-woven. This is a paranormal romantic suspense- a great murder mystery with vampires, lawyers, crime and investigation, a serial killer, hidden agendas, revenge, shifters, politics, and all woven with a very original take on vampire lore.
Donovan Trait is a highly respected lawyer- a superstar in courtroom circles, but there is more to him than meets the eye. For one, he’s a vampire who's over 300 years-old. Things take a dangerous and suspenseful turn when someone attempts to murder him. Luckily vampires are hard to kill, or this story would have ended rather quickly. Who has got him in their crosshairs and why? Then other lawyers begin to meet their ‘sticky ends’- and everything points to a serial killer obsessed with lawyers. But apart from all the victims being lawyers, nothing about the case connects or makes sense to Donovan and his ‘team’. The bodies are piling up, with no idea who could be targeted next. Donovan will need to do something to draw out the killer, especially if he is to protect those he cares about. What ensues makes for a gripping and suspenseful read. Add in the intriguing vampire lore details, the other paranormal elements, and a sweet romance- and I was hooked, reading it all in one sitting so I wouldn’t miss a moment.
The ending leaves an opening for more- with some tantalizing threads that I hope we get to explore more in future instalments. I hope the next book isn’t too far away, because I can’t wait to continue this series.

Thank you, Seelie Kay!

First, We Kill All the Lawyers (Donovan Trait Series)
By Seelie Kay
5 out of 5 stars

I loved reading the book First, We Kill All the Lawyers (Donovan Trait Series) by Seelie Kay. It’s a story that pulled me in from the very beginning and I was hooked. I loved the character of Donovan Trait. He is charming, handsome, confident, and the target of a murderer. He is also a vampire. Donovan is a wonderful character that is well-developed and one that I loved to read about. What does the future hold for Donovan? Will the murder that has set his sights on not only Donovan but other lawyers as well be caught? This story does have romance and it also had me on the edge of my seat wondering what was going to happen next. I also enjoyed reading about the other additional characters that are introduced. Some of them had me wondering what their motives are and others that have an agenda. This is an amazing story that will have you not wanting to put it down until the final page. It is an entertaining and exciting read. I highly recommend reading it.

First, We Kill All the Lawyers by Seelie Kay a fantastic five-star read. This is the first novel in the Donovan Trait series, and I am so excited for the rest, I have enjoyed reading this author previously, but this one just had the extra magic, it made me chuckle, but most of all it kept me hooked. This has an original quality to the story, and the characters are just sublime, the snark, the quirks, and the smoothness, all create this great story.

We first meet Donovan Trait, a handsome, dashing and confident lawyer who has never lost a case and is known to many as the hottest lawyer in Chicago, he knows his legislation and he also knows his ways around a judge and jury, he is also a three hundred year old vampire. The case in question this time is the illegal seizure of goods and harassment by law enforcement of his clients, he wins again of course, but as he is heading away from the courtroom, a brief tryst with a judge afterwards and through the lunchtime rush in the streets surrounding it, he receives a text message which is out of the ordinary, but believes that it is just a friend playing one of their usual pranks, that is until he ends up in hospital after receiving a stab wound to the side and collapses in the street. He wakes up in the hospital and on an IV blood transfusion and to the dulcet tones of his secretary pretending to be his fiancee in order to access his hospital room to get his sorted and out, at least once he has spoken to the police first, luckily for him, the first one on the scene is one he knows and won’t ask too many questions about how he is already healing after receiving a wound which would kill a human.

Next we meet the mystery killer and find out that they are very disturbed by the fact that Donovan Tate isn’t dead and that there is no mention of this in the newspapers at all, she then decides to give it another try because her plan would not succeed unless he was the first one to die. After that, it would seem random as they would all be killed in different ways and by seemingly different people, she had written her list out and was determined to follow through with it and kill all the lawyers who had wronged her and her family in the past.

A couple of days later and Donovan is back in the courtroom and cross examining another witness, he again succeeds in this and after a visit to his sister, who discusses his behaviour both inside and outside the courtroom to try to glean some information about his latest conquest and why this one might be the one he settles down with, this as well as who may have it in for him within the professional boundaries. After he leaves another night of passion with his very human lady love, he gets in a taxi to go to court, but he is unnerved by the behaviour of his driver and so calls his friend in law enforcement to subtly check it out while he is being driven to work, it is just before his appearance that he decides to go to the bathroom to straighten out his suit when he is shot by a mystery woman and is again awoken by the dulcet tones of his secretary.

It is after this that he decides to stay out of the spotlight and lay low as this is being investigated and the killer is made to believe that he is at death's door and in a private facility, this encourages her to move onto the next names on her list and as the bodies pile up and there are no more leads that things get more serious for everyone involved.

Will the dead lawyers stay dead or will the true nature of the victims come to light? Will the killer be found and caught, or will they do as they say and “Kill all the lawyers!”? This is a thriller with a dash of romance which will leave you guessing until the end and wanting to see who is committing all these dastardly deeds in Chicago, but the only way to find out who it is is to read on and find out.

Donovan Trait is a very good lawyer, practicing his chosen profession in downtown Chicago courts. He's also so gorgeous he's won covers on local magazines as the most eligible bachelor, and the best-looking lawyer in town. He's known to be insatiable, and has thousands of conquests under his belt--and those are just in recent years. Because he's also a vampire who's been alive for 3 centuries, and in all of that time, he's never met a woman he considered an equal who he might like in his bed more than once.

Now someone is hunting lawyers--sending them messages with Shakespeare's quote, which is the title of this book. Following the text, an attempt is made on that lawyer's life. While successful with other lawyers, unfortunately for the killer, vampires are almost impossible to kill. All of the usual ways mentioned in fiction are just myths. There is only one way to finally end a vampire's existence, and of course, it's a closely-guarded secret known only to them.

I didn't like Donovan much. He's a very alpha male, who thinks everything he does is right because he does it. He does have an altruistic streak that amuses other vampires. Apparently none of them need to feed directly from humans anymore, so they either live amongst themselves exclusively, or participate in human society until their non-aging becomes an issue--then they move. But still, he agrees with the Vampire Council, whose members include his father, that females don't belong on the council. His sister, a judge, has been fighting to change this for many, many years. But as his mother explains to his current paramour, also a judge who has tried many of his cases, (conflict of interest?), vampire society is even slower to change, and even more resistant. If his sister would just be more feminine in her approach--instead of being so belligerent--she might get further with her requests for change. To me, that kind of attitude is patronizing. If the "little ladies" want to be considered equals, they need to be overly-feminine, using honey to get what they want. Sigh.

Much of the lore surrounding vampires is upended in this book. But I didn't find that as off-putting as the hero, who "suddenly" realizes he's fallen in love with the judge he's been shagging lately, and asks her to marry him--which will require her agreeing to a procedure that will erase her humanity and change her into a vampire--all done in a supervised, sterile medical facility. I've always found the idea of immortality to be worth the unpleasantness of blood-drinking--and the way most other stories make new vampires to be fascinating. I didn't like this new, modern way.

But if you like alpha vampires, you'll probably like this book. BTW, there's an open-ended conclusion to the story, leaving the possibility of a sequel.

First We Kill All The Lawyers is Book One in The Donovan Trait Series by author Seelie Kay. Donovan Trait is a charismatic and drop-dead gorgeous lawyer that ladies fawn over and that everyone wants to be like. His charm and good looks, combined with his knowledge of the law has kept him winning cases in the court room for over three hundred years. A little seduction of judges and juries along the way has not hurt his court cases either and his appetite is insatiable both in and out of the courtroom.

Donovan Trait is unstoppable and untouchable, or so he thinks, until someone sets their sights on him and marks him for murder. Luckily for him, Vampires do not die. The problem is, after several hundred years he has finally met the love of his life who is a human. Shirley is a Judge that Donovan met during one of his cases who turns out to be a match for Donovan both in and out of the courtroom. She is beautiful, vivacious, and smart. However, she is merely mortal and marked for death. They now must battle for their lives as they are hunted like prey by an unknown killer whose motives are unbeknown to them. Donovan and his lady love must combine their skills and their knowledge to save their lives and catch the killer that has set their sights on them and marked them both for death.

First We Kill All The Lawyers had me on edge throughout as I became immersed in Donovan’s life. I felt his pain as he clung to life after several attempts on his life. I waited with bated breath to see if his lady love would survive the attempt on her life. I anxiously turned the pages to see if this man would find his happily ever after or if fate would intervene. I recommend this book and cannot wait to read more books in this series.

I am hooked!
Mystery ✔️
Suspense ✔️
Comedy ✔️
Snarky Characters ✔️
Romance ✔️
Vamps, Weres, and Humans ✔️✔️
An absolutely entertaining read with a bit of a cozy mystery feels to it.

Donovan, a very old and very handsome vamp, is targeted for death -Normally he would laugh off such an absurd threat
(*note* The author came up with such a creative way to ensure the death of a vamp first time I recall this method)
but after a few failed attempts, it does get a bit tiring.
So what to do?
Why fake it till you capture it
The only problem there is other attorneys are dying
And the woman he loves, who is human, is also a target
Can our band of mismatched heroes thwart out who-done-it before it's too late?

The cast for this series is quite colorful and extremely loveable -
from the weres to the humans I found myself quickly loving or loathing them.
The storyline was easy to follow and definitely kept me on my toes. It had a smooth 'ebb and flow' feel to it. Along with the main storyline, there are a few smaller stories that are also unveiling in the background.
Our protagonist was a bit unhinged but in some ways, I can't blame her - her other half was yuck! (a story within the story)
The romance(s) side of this tale falls into so many categories - from smexy as heck to sickly sweet even a budding one that is a bit comedic.

If you enjoy a touch of the eccentric doused in a bit of mystery sprinkled with the paranormal all shrouded in an urban setting
Then I highly recommend
Added to my must-read series list

Wow, First We Kill All the Lawyers by Seelie Kay is a fantastic read. The book has everything I love all rolled into one story: Vampires, mystery, sex, & witty. How could you go wrong with those aspects?
Donovan is handsome, debonair, and has the air of old world charm of someone from ages ago. And with good reason since he is a centuries old vampire! He can sweet talk and charm the pants off of anyone, which comes in handy since he is a lawyer.
As you can tell by the title, someone is trying to kill Donovan along with other lawyers and judicial folks. The plot develops quickly and has enough twists and turns to keep me reading late into the night! Who will be next, will/or when will Donovan solve the murders? What happens between him and his love? Will they take things a step further and will there be a happier ever after? Read this book to find out all the thrilling details!
Ms. Kay sets the scene in a clear way and really brings the characters to life. Her background in the law comes through so there is a sense of reality in the underlying theme of the story. Kudos to Ms. Kay for weaving such an intriguing story into such a page turner!
Suspense, vampires, sex, fun, it doesn't get much better than this and I know that you will enjoy First We Kill All the Lawyers. I look forward to reading the next book in the series.

Donovan Trait is a defense attorney in Chicago and also a three-hundred-year-old vampire. He has been searching for his soulmate for a long time. He starts a relationship with Judge Shirley Magnusen. She’s everything he has been looking for, but he has his doubts about a future with her.

One morning while walking to the courthouse, Donovan is stabbed after receiving the text “The first thing we do, let’s kill all the lawyers! Starting with you!” He thinks nothing of it, to begin with, but when he is shot in the bathroom of the courthouse several days later, he knows he is being hunted by a killer.

Molly, Donovan’s secretary and also a werebear, elicits help from The Lynx, a private eye and hacker when another attorney is killed. Can they use connections between the lawyers to discover who the killer is before another attorney is killed?

After reading the synopsis of the book, I thought, “Oh, it’s just another vampire book.” Was I ever wrong? This book goes beyond any other vampire book and looks at the scientific discoveries that have helped vampires evolve and into the hierarchy of the vampire world. This story of love and mystery will astound you.

Seelie Kay wrote an interesting story with First We Kill All the Lawyers. I’m obsessed with everything vampire, so I couldn’t resist jumping into this book. I loved it! Vampires, murder, humor, oh my!
Donovan is intriguing, a 300+ year old vampire turned lawyer for the little guy in the human world. Unfortunately for him, someone tried to kill him twice. Not realizing it wouldn’t be as easy as she assumed it would be.
Shirley Magnusen, a judge in the Chicago Courts circuit also becomes a victim when an attempt by the same person is made on her life. She’s also in love with Donovan.
This story explores the trials and tribulations of trying to find this person who is killing lawyers and threatening their lives.
Not your typical go round with vampire fiction. The vampires don’t feed on humans, they evolved to be able to tolerate the sun. Some have even had children. It’s an interesting take on an area of fiction that has evolved rapidly over the past 25 years. Which I love and accept who heartedly. If Vampires are your thing, I beg you to take a gander for yourself. I’m sure it will be intriguing!

First of all, I LOVED this book. The main character, Donovan, is written beautifully. He is gorgeous, polite, a little cocky and sometime talks like he is from the olden days.. which being a few hundred year old vampire, makes sense.

This book has everything! Vampires, were-bears, were-lynx, romance, law, mystery, murder, etc. Everything I love all in one!

Someone is going around killing a bunch of lawyers and no one knows why. Donovan, being a gorgeous play boy and a kick ass lawyer can bring many enemies so finding out who is doing this, takes a lot of investigation including some by magical beings. Donovan also becomes smitten with a human which makes things even more difficult for him.

One thing I loved about this book is that, the author also touched base with the other side of the book. We get a glimpse into the murderers life and motive.

Assuming the book's title has Donovan Trait 1 on it, there might be a sequel! I will definitely be looking into more books written by Seelie Kay!

First, We Kill All the Lawyers (Donovan Trait Series) by Seelie Kay. This is not my first book by this author but it has become one of my very favorite. Its the story of vampire/attorney Donovan Trait who is an amazing attorney. There isn't a judge, jury, defendant or another attorney he can't sweet talk. A charmer and handsome to boot he has life by the tails and is living his best life. He has a beautiful lady he's in love with who is human and doesn't know his secret of being a vampire. When someone starts to try and kill all the lawyers Donovan isn't worried because he can't die! The only problem is his girlfriend is human and she's on the hit list. Can Donovan save her as well as keep his secret protected? Trying to keep the human world and the vampire world happy is beginning to overlap and Donovan doesn't know how much longer he can keep it all in control! Read Kill all the Lawyers to find out if Donovan will succeed in not only surviving but winning!

This is the first book in the series and follows vampire lawyer Donovan as he tries to avoid being killed by a serial killer. There is suspense, humour and romance.
Someone is killing lawyers one by one but nobody knows why or who is next.
I loved the writing style of this book, the dialogue between the characters was entertaining. Donovan's character was very charming and easy to like. The insight into his vampire world was interesting to read and I imagine his sister will be a huge part of a later book in the series.
I struggled a little with the relationship between Donovan and Shirley, the story just didn't seem to show the build up of their love.
The suspense of the investigation into the serial killer was a page turner and it was great to read all the different routes an investigation might take, it certainly keep me turning the pages. Although the investigation did seem to end quite abruptly.

First, We Kill All the Lawyers by Seelie Kay was a great 5 star read.
I was pulled in right from the beginning.

Donovan is a highly respected lawyer in Chicago with a secret, he’s a vampire. When things take a serious twist after a case and someone attempts to take his life Donovan needs to find out who is after him and why? When other lawyers start to die it becomes very obvious that someone is focusing on lawyers.

Overall I really enjoyed this thrilling read. I really liked Donovan, he was handsome, smart and so much more. The additional characters also added a great element to the story. We also get the killers POV which allows us to see the person's thoughts and craziness. I was on the edge of my seat trying to guess who the killer was and their motive. If you're looking for a thrilling read that pulls you right in, 1-click and get started today on this one. I look forward to reading more from this author.

There is only one way to start a vampire story. Make it Spicy! And author Seelie Kay did not disappoint in this wonderful book First, We Kill All The Lawyers.
There is no denying Donovan Trait, one of the best lawyers in town, knows what he is doing in the courtroom and in the bedroom! He is a vampire after all, they have been around the block a time or two. 300 years to be exact.
Donovan might have seen a thing or two, but never found a true love. Until now. And she is Human.
If all that wasn't enough to keep him on his toes. Why not add a killer on the loose that wants to kill all the lawyers?
Donovan has his hands full after he is one of the first lawyers to be attacked. He has to keep his "life style" hidden since he can't die from normal human things like being stabbed and shot.
It's a whirlwind of emotions and crazy ups and downs. But this book is at the top of my list. I can't wait to read more from this author!

First, We Kill All the Lawyers by Seelie Kay is the first book to the Donovan Trait series. The confident, handsome Donovan Trait is a vampire casanova that chose to stop aging at 35 years old, but has been around since the late 1700s. Needless to say, he is very well versed with law… and the judges. But suddenly, someone is killing off lawyers and he has to stop whoever this serial killer is and protect himself and the ones he holds dear. Especially his newfound love, Judge Shirley Magnusen.

This was a very fun read for me and I was pulled in from the very beginning of the story by Donovan’s charm. While I love a good vampire romance, this one struck with me differently. It was unique from any other I had read before. These are not your typical vampires, so don’t expect this to be similar to anything you’ve ever encountered, regardless of how many vampire books you’ve read. Definitely recommend if you love vampires, romance and suspense!

I have read other books by Seelie Kay, but I have to say this one is my favorite one so far. This is not your normal vampire book. The storyline is interesting and fun. There are some points that I had to go back and reread because I did not see the twist coming right at me. The characters are complex and interesting. The characters really bring the story to life. Donavan is a lawyer by day and a vampire by night. He has stumbled across a case in which someone is killing the lawyers. This is not a problem for Donavan as he is already dead. However, Donavan’s duo life is not public knowledge. The lawyer killer is out there but who will be the killer’s target since Donavan can not be killed? Can Donavan find the killer's identity before it is too late? I highly recommend this story to find out the answers to these questions and more.

I always know I am in for one heck of a read when I pick up anything by Seelie Kay. She has a way of weaving stories that keep me engaged and well on the edge of my seat as I read. I was excited to see this new series, Donovan Trait, and the first book this one, was something with a bit of a twist to her other works. This has a heavy paranormal side to it with vampires and all the lore that goes with them. I loved how this wove a typical plot line but kept things interesting with interweaving the vampire storyline as well. I was constantly wondering if I had things figured out only to find out I was wrong lol, those are the best books to me personally. I loved every moment of this one and I cannot wait to get my hands on the next book in the series and to see where this new storyline will go.

First, We Kill All the Lawyers (Donovan Trait Book 1)
By Seelie Kay

This book was an unexpected gem. I found it to be original, full of suspense, twists and turns, vampires, and so much more. This wasn't just another vampire story, there were so many other elements going on all while there is a serial killer trying to kill lawyers and Donovan can't figure out the connection between the lawyers that are being murdered. Donovan is a smooth talker and a bit of a ladies man until he starts seeing Judge Shirley Magnusen. I had a hard time putting this book down because I needed to know what was going to happen next. Who would be the next victim? Would they figure out who the killer is? To find these things out you need to read this book. This isn't the first book I have read by this author and it won't be my last. I suggest reading this story, you won't regret it.

Seelie Kay knows how to tell a story! This story is original, funny, and unpredictable. Its my first time exploring one of her books, and I picked a great one to start!
We are introduced to Donovan Trait who is a Vampire, lawyer, and Alpha to the extreme. An expert and legend both in and out of the courtroom which may due to his 300 years of existence. Donovan himself could charm the blood straight from your body. When lawyers start to become targets for a murder Donovan is
high on that list, but what happens when you can't kill a vampire? While he can handle his own he still has fears for his lady love who is a Judge, human, and as big a target as himself. He and his team work around the clock for answers as time continues to run out. A very interesting game of cat and mouse and by no means your typical Vampire book.

It starts with an odd text, “The first thing we do, let’s kill all lawyers! Starting with you!”, thinking it is nothing but a bad joke lawyer Donovan Trait brushes it off. Soon after Trait finds himself in a hospital bed recovering from a stab wound that should have killed him. Trait has a secret though….he is a vampire and not that easy to kill. Even after being stabbed Trait does not really think there is much of a threat, that is until another attempt is made on his life. Now Trait is faking his demise in order to try to discover what is happening. Soon others in the legal field are murdered as well. Why is this happening? Who wants him dead? Why kill the others? Are those he cares about being targeted as well?

This is the first book I have read by Kay. I enjoyed the characters and can’t wait to see what comes next! I would recommend this book.

This is not my first book by this author but it is one of my favorites by her yet. This is a paranormal story that kept me turning pages to the last page. I was pulled in right from the beginning. The characters are connectable and made the story easy to read. This is a story about Donavan. He is a lawyer by day and a vampire by night. There is someone who has decided to kill all the lawyers but the problem with that is Donavan can’t die. Will the killer find out the truth and will that truth be revealed? Will Donavan find out who is behind the killings? I loved his character and that he has a lady love. He really makes the story for me. I highly recommend this book and this author.

I have been following this author for a while and she never disappoints! "First, We Kill All the Lawyers" is a charming tale of a Chicago lawyer who is also a vampire. Someone is killing lawyers and he is first on the list. Unfortunately, so is his human lady love. He can't die, because he's a vampire--but she can. The resulting tale simply dazzles! Donovan Trait faces challenges on all fronts--protecting himself and his love from a serial killer, revealing his true nature (his GF thinks he's joking), falling in love with a human, and dealing with a very evolved vampire world. By the end, you truly believe that this man could be named one of Chicago's hottest lawyers. God, he's hot! I think I may be in love! :)

First, We Kill All the Lawyers (Donovan Trait Series) by Seelie Kay

First, We Kill All the Lawyers by Seelie Kay is a Paranormal Romance suspense that I literally read in one sitting . Once I started reading I couldn’t stop. I’ve read other books by this author but this one is my favorite yet. Donovan Trait is an amazing Lawyer who is highly respected in the courtroom but there’s more than meets the eyes when it comes to him. He’s a vampire who’s over 300 years old. What happens when someone attempts to murder him? But what they don’t know is he’s a vampire and they don’t die easily. Find out what happens next in this on the edge of your seat must read. First, let me say that I really enjoyed the actual story of this book, however there was not enough setup of the actual characters. A number of characters were introduced in a very short amount of time, making it a bit confusing at first, but once you settle in the book is really good! I loved that you have a vampire that has chosen to become a lawyer in a rather large city in the United States. I do believe that a little more time spent on each of the characters would be awesome, and I’m hoping that in future novels the author will spend time developing the characters as much as they developed the story. I went around in circles trying to figure out the who-dun-it of this book, and in the end, well, you’ll see! All in all, an excellent book!

So Donovan Trait is a tall dark and handsome vampire bachelor. Someone is out to kill him and a bunch of other lawyers/judges but is not doing such a great job. The killer does not know the secret way of killing vampires. Donovan falls in love with Shirley a judge that almost dies by the hands of the killer and they go in hiding for a little bit to wait it out. They end up having a long discussion of turning her so they can get married. They have to bring it to the counsel to have the final say. Who could the killer be a crazy ex lover or someone coming back with a grudge from a past trial? What do all the victims have in common? Kay knows just how to write to keep you on edge and wanting more.

Donovan Trait is a very successful lawyer, unbeknownst to most of the world, he is also a vampire. So when there are two attempts on his life, he is more annoyed than wounded until other lawyers begin to die. Will he be able to search out the killer while courting a human who also seems to be on the hit list?
This was a very enjoyable read. I liked reading along to try to work out the mystery of who was killing the lawyers. Donovan was a likeable character and I liked the concept of weres and vamps living amongst the human population with their heightened senses. The ending was a bit anti-climatic for me but I can see that it was to intrigue the reader to have questions for the second instalment. I received a free copy of this book from Voracious Readers in exchange for an honest review.

This was a great story that kept me gripped from the beginning. It is a faced paced paranormal story. I loved the characters. They are very easy to connect to and well written.

Donovan is a well known lawyer. Not only is he well know but he is the best in the business. No one stands a chance against him in a court room, but Donovan has a secret. He's a 300 year old vampire.

There is someone out to kill all the lawyers to write a wrong. The first one on their hit list is Donovan but after several attempts Donovan won't die.

Why won't he die? Will the killer figure out his secret and reveal just who he is? Or will Donovan figure out who is trying to kill him and end this persons plans?

First We Kill All The Lawyers by Seelie Kay is the first book on the Donovan Trait series. This is quite a suspenseful story and it one that will absolutely grab your attention from page one!
The author has really managed to keep this book interesting the whole way through. She throws in so many twists and turns that you are racing to get through it to find out how it will all end. I loved the main character as well. I thought he was such a well developed character it was so easy to connect with him. I wanted to read more about him even after thy r book had finished.
This is a strong start to a new series and I am already excited to see what will be next!
