Camilla didn’t know anything could feel like This Hurt…

Camilla thought she’d left her past behind. Leaving public school for the elite halls she walks now should have been her fresh start. Her chance to be the girl she wants to be, not the girl other people think she is—most of all, to be the girl for Hunter Beck.

But she can’t seem to outrun the rumors that chase her, and she’s starting to lose hope she ever will.

The year is quickly drawing to a close. The future she’s been working towards seems farther away than ever before. Hunter and his father wield the power, she’s always known that. Her mother never misses an opportunity to remind her, either. Fighting for what she wants while staying true to her heart seems impossible.

As her past and her future rush toward a collision, Camilla is no longer sure what her heart wants.

Should she leave everything behind and live the life she’s been dreaming of for years?

Or should she throw it all away for the love of a boy she shouldn't trust—Hunter Beck?

It was a one time read for me! Due to lack of major twists and connection between the characters , I am DNF-ing this series.

Milla and Hunter’s story picks up right from the end of This Boy and it’s brutal. This is just the kind of teenage angst I love.

There’s lies, misunderstandings and mistakes galore. These two are the epitome of a delicious NA drama filled love story and I’m hooked!

That ending though - had me yelling at my iPad. Can’t wait for book 3.

I received an arc of this book.

This Hurt is book 2 in the This Boy series by Jenna Scott. It starts right from the cliffhanger in the first book This Boy .

I had some of the same issues again with this book that I did with the first book. The overly slow pace to the story, but also this time I felt like there was just too much about Camilla and her emotions. I get she was going through a lot at the time. But honestly it felt like not only was she repeating herself with saying how she felt. It felt so long reading it, because it seemed overly descriptive and normally I don’t mind that. However in this case I felt it was unnecessary and not needed, especially when it seemed like the same thing again and again. With Camilla just going around in circles over again repetitively.

Bringing me to my main point about love, how it not only makes you blind, but makes you do stupid things and in Camilla’s case it was true! I thought she was stupid for the fact that she easily and willingly forgave Hunter after what he did to her. Like seriously?! He ruined your future, but no it’s okay because I love him. Really?!
They had barely been a couple and already she was in love with him. Are you kidding me?!

OMG Hunter definitely didn’t redeem himself from how I felt about him in This Boy. He annoyed the hell out of me in this book with his clinginess and constant need to be attached to Milla. Like I get it you love her and your scared of losing her, but there is love and then there is constantly holding on, wanting her, needing her, taking up all her time, stalker-ish love which is what his love for her seemed like. It was clear to see he had abandonment issues and having not got over that, he projected it by attaching on to Milla too much and in a unhealthy way.

It was a decent book overall, I mean I loved Camilla’s friendship with Isabel and Emmett. I loved that they both supported her and helped her so much, regardless of whether they were happy with some of her decisions. They were definitely a true definition of great friendship. It helped me continue on with reading. Jenna definitely managed to reel me in with that last chapter. Though it wasn’t really a cliffhanger ending (like in This Boy), it was still an OMG moment which had me wanting to know what will happen next between Camilla and Hunter.

I will definitely be reading the next book, especially because there are still some questions that have yet to be answered. And with the hints of something going on with some characters and my need to know what, it is safe to say I will be back for book 3, This Love!

What an emotional journey. Camilla is still reeling from what Hunter did but she is determined to stay strong. This gets difficult when her mom turns on her while Hunter refuses to give up. Thankfully her BFF is in her corner. Makes for a roller coaster of feelings both highs and lows as it plays out all the way to the cliff hanger ending that has you dying to see how it will all play out. Makes for a great read. I really liked it so I give it 4/5 stars.

This Boy ended on a cliffhanger and I was looking forward to finding out what was going to happen with this couple. This Hurt starts exactly where This Boy finished and continues the tale of all the ups and downs of the relationship between Hunter Beck and Camilla Hanson. This series must be read in order as the story is told over a trilogy and you won’t get the final conclusion until book 3. This review has no spoilers for This Boy.

Hunter has thrown a spanner in the works and done something unforgivable but totally justified in his eyes. I was interested to see how Camilla was going to react and if their relationship would survive. He works really hard at their relationship and will do anything to keep her.

Milla is settling into life at Oak Academy but struggling to make sense of all that happened at the end of This Boy. She thought Hunter was different but had always questioned how someone like him wanted someone like her. She determined to put the past behind her, but just like her old school, there are mean girls who won’t let her forget her roots. Milla has always felt she will never be good enough, is inferior and the trash like they treat her. She has done nothing to warrant the bad reputation that follows her, mainly due to her mum.

Milla is constantly fighting for her future, while overcoming adversity but also trying to make Hunter see he is enough for her and is who she wants. The college problem looms over both them throughout the book. The nearer it gets to graduation and her having to decide which college, the stress increases as she doesn’t just have herself to consider anymore. Milla still hopes for Stanford but would be happy going to UCSD to stay close to Hunter.

For a smart lad, Hunter is certainly thick at times. To me he really needs to think before he opens his mouth and is often selfish when he wants something. He doesn’t want her to leave but he won’t tell her all the reasons why he wants to stay home and not go to college. Hunter knows she loves him but can’t see how she can mean it when she wants to leave him for college.

“Fighting the force between us is like fighting gravity. Impossible.”

As a couple they are great in their bubble, it’s just all the people around them that makes life so difficult for them both. It really is a story of the haves and the have nots. Rich versus poor and their attitudes. Loved the support Emmett and Isabel continued to give her even if Hunter found it hard to accept. Hillary was such a bitch again so I hope she gets her comeuppance.

There is lots of drama with many highs and lows. The reader gets some of the answers to the questions left over from This Boy. We hear more about ‘the incident’ and I felt so sorry for what Milla went through. We also knew Hunter was damaged and had a bad relationship with his father, but will still don’t get all the details behind his problems. The author has left enough loose ends for the last book.

My heart goes out to Camilla and all she goes through yet again. She seems a little naive and I did hope she would hold out a bit longer at the start. I can understand how she accepts some of his behaviour so easily because he is her first love and she’s experienced so many firsts with Hunter.
I am so glad she stands up for herself and her dreams because at times I felt her love for him was pure and innocent but his was obsessive and toxic. He a real Jekyll and Hyde character and we see the very best of him but also the worse of him during this book. Personally I now think she’d be better of without him and feel he is holding her back for his own reasons.

I do actually think this series may have been better as a duet than a trilogy as it did start to drag a bit, however, there is a good twist at the end to throw everything back up in the air. It is going to be interesting to see which way the author takes the story and find out more about why Hunter is the way he is and what becomes of Camilla’s dreams and aspirations of a better life. We will have to wait and see if they have the HEA readers will be looking forward to?

Wow…my mind is whirling from the ending. It’s a doozy. I know that there is one more book so I am guessing there will be more to the story. It’s like Camilla and Hunter both have issues and without dealing with them they ultimately end up hurting each other and themselves (not physically) by not trusting each other. I can see how telling only partial truths can cause mistrust but I also want to tell both Camilla and Hunter where they went wrong, for example, Hunter knows that Camilla was an innocent when they started having sex together (not just a virgin but how he could tell she was inexperienced) but I know it’s easy to say when you are on the outside looking in especially in the moment. I would also say consider the source. Then I would want to tell Camilla that she should have gave full disclosure not just bits and pieces. I just don’t know how they can move on from here. So I guess that will be the biggest question in This Love, book 3 of the This Boy Series. Jenna Scott, author, did a fantastic job with capturing my attention and keeping it from the very beginning till the end. Jenna is able to engage your emotions and to create characters that you (readers) can relate to and empathize with. It’s a big part of how she draws you into the story and keeps your attention. This Hurt is also seriously hot🔥🔥. This Hurt has twists, turns, things going sideways, heat, emotion, and draws you in to the point you don’t want to put the book 📖 or in my case iPad 📱 down. I really can’t wait for This Love to see what happens next and if Hunter and Camilla can overcome their issues both as individuals and as a couple or if this is the end and they both find someone else. I, also, think that both Emmet and Isabel are not going to be so forgiving a second time but we will see how it all plays put in This Love. I totally and completely recommend reading This Hurt. It is book 2 in the This Boy series and they can’t be read as a stand-alone (well, technically it could be you might miss key elements). Anyway, I think that Jenna did a fantastic job and will definitely be checking out other books she has written while waiting for This Love. Enjoy!!

Her time at public school was a distant memory, she closed the book on it months ago and was really hoping to keep it at bay. But as with all dark little secrets, there is always someone just waiting to help them see the light of day.

Camilla has everything she could want right now, Hunter and her found their way back to one another and are really happy. She never expected being the center of someone's world could be so good. Their future looks bright as school nears it's end and college plans are being made. But as with all good things, there is always something bad to follow. And in her case it is the tragic past she thought she left behind...

The moment my eyes found the words I was pulled right back into Camilla and Hunter's passionate little world and completely taken with them all over again! The reunion started off a little shaky, as Hunter had done something unforgivable and Camilla had shut him out, wanting nothing to do him. But Hunter wasn't ready to walk away from what they had, he was desperate to have her back. He knew he screwed up royally and was willing to do whatever it took to earn her attention and love again. The push and pull this incited was tough on the ticker, but all was repaired soon enough. Or so I thought! Just when things were headed in the right direction tragedy reared it's ugly head and now I am left dying to know how things will end for our young lovebirds.

The drama is high between the pages of this one, one moment your riding the happiest of highs, and then BAM! the lowest of heartbreaking lows hits! This one is bound to have you drowning in feels from beginning to end. My poor heart barely survived it, but I am still holding out hope that Camilla will finally find her happy! Highly recommend you get your hands on this series, it is bound to wreck your heart in the best possible way!

I requested an advanced copy of this title from the publisher, and I am voluntarily leaving my honest and unbiased opinion.

The This Boy series and/or trilogy is very hard to put down even when I have so many issues with Hunter (Oh you HAVE TO read the first book, This Boy before This Hurt). It's probably because I LOVE Camilla, and am trying to scream loud enough so she can hear me to find someone else. I still have BIG issues with Hunter, and dying for him to actually develop into a decent hero for me because I'm about to unleash my crazy soon. Now just because I'm not even close to being #TEAMHUNTER, Jenna Scott is so talented & addictive that I keep reading when in other stories I may or may not have actually stopped reading it. I do NEED the conclusion because I need to know if this boy can be redeemed in my eyes along with the answers to my questions, plus there's another cliffy. Remember this is only my opinion & not a fact so decide for yourselves. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

This Hurt was a complete rollercoaster from beginning to end. It starts right from the cliffhanger This Boy left us off at which I heavily appreciated. I was just dying to know why Hunter did what he did and his reasoning was so sad yet cruel. This book really highlights Hunter's insecurities and how strong his love is for Camila. I loved how even though Camila loves Hunter, this situation was not brushed off. Camila made sure Hunter knew what he did was wrong and earn back her love and trust. The question is, "is the love they have for each other strong enough to survive all of the miscommunication and doubts in their relationship?" I can not wait to find out in the final installment This love after the huge cliffhanger we got left off on in This Hurt.

THIS HURT is the follow up to This Boy and releases January 19. The second I finished This Boy I couldn’t wait for the next book to come out as it left off on an intense cliffhanger. THIS HURT picked up right where the first left off without any unnecessary rehashing of events.

The last chapter here doesn’t leave readers on as much of a cliffhanger, but it’s definitely an “omg what’s going to happen now” kind of moment.

I highly recommend fans of YA romance read this trilogy - note they have to be read in order and not as standalone.

This Hurt picks right up where This Boy leaves off. With this being said prepare yourselves for another emotional roller coaster. Hunter and Camilla may have found their way back to each other. Happiness is something they both need and deserve. Their love shines through and Camilla has finally found out what it feels like to be number 1 to someone. As this school year ends plans are being made for their futures. The big question is what happens when something from the past sneaks up and threatens that happiness?

All the drama.....

So we pick up where book one ends and oh boy, what a rollercoaster ride we are on. Camilla is devastated and Hunter is begging for forgiveness. These two have a very turmoil relationship. And as much as I really love Hunter he really needs to grow up. Camilla is a fantastic, strong and smart girl that doesn’t get her worth.
I enjoy these two and I am really enjoying their story. So excited to see where we go in book three. Totally recommend this trilogy.

Hunter and Camilla’s story picks right up from the last book and even though there connection is fierce Hunter has to work hard to get back in Camilla’s good graces after he did the last thing you’d think but he loves her so much he’s willing to put in the work. These two are sweet together and I’m hoping what’s to come in last book will answer the major question lurking for me!?

This Hurt is the second book in the This Boy series by Jenna Scott. This book picks up where This Boy leaves off.

After falling in love, Hunter and Camilla called it quits. Their love was intense, but Hunter betrayed Camilla in a horrific way.

As the story goes on, we learn about Hunter's motivation and come to understand him better. His abandonment issues are easy to understand.

Talk about family issues. Omg. I hate Camilla's mother. She was a complete ass in the first book and she just keeps getting worse. But, oh how I adore Isabel's family. I truly love them.

This is a tale with a lot of emotion. Pain. Need. Want. Fears. Hesitation. Lust.

As the two form a truce, the sex continues to be steamy. They clearly connect well in the bedroom.

I find this story to be riveting, but damn, I definitely want to smack Hunter at times. He certainly doesn't make things easier on himself. I often wanted to kick him in the ass. I also struggled with Camilla constantly forgiving him.

But, overall, This Hurt had me consumed and I couldn't put this Jenna Scott book down. This series is a must read the next time you're in the mood for an angsty romance. It's one of those stories you will both love and hate at the same time.

"Life finally feels like it's getting on track. I feel like I have a path."

Now we continue straight away from This Boy cliffhanger. I love the pace of if their relationship getting back together. It does not happen over night. My heart broke when you see Hunter in a broken state of what he has done. My heart broke for Camilla too because he dreams were distroyed by the man she thought cared for her.

However they have learnt they need to talk to each other. Then I thought yes they are going down the mature until 4 idiots get involved which I won't spoil and yes I still hate Camilla's mam and Hunter's dad & step mam are no better.

Ahhhh I was mad everything was perfect more romance then BANG that one line and someone else action that helped Camilla to get her dream college....no spoilers who. Hunter wants to help her with her dreams...

📚 book one This Boy is currently FREE!

Now if you want a steamy and forbidden love story read this trilogy. OH a adorable little boy called Harrison a.k.a Harry who willet your heart. A character redeemed themselves and we learn a family secret. I read these in 2 days I couldn't stop !!

Family is created with love not blood. Which is why I love this trilogy it has everything for me

'This Hurt' is the perfect title for this book because if anything hurt me more than experiencing Milla's struggles between balancing school and her faux anger at Hunter Beck, it was forcing myself to finish this drawn out mess.

This story is so boring at times, but this is my takeaway from 'This Hurt'. Milla is still a pushover when it comes to Hunter. Hunter is still a selfish tool when it comes to Milla. Both of their families are disgusting and more involved in their relationship than any normal parent should ever be. With all of this minutia, the one interesting part of Milla's past is used in such a horrible way that I rushed through the ending just to escape this sadly predictable plot point.

Maybe I'm a glutton for punishment, but I need to know if there is a happily ever after for Milla and Hunter's rollercoaster of a 'love story'. I'm one book down from finishing this series and I couldn't be happier!

As a side note, I think this series could have been different if it was one book instead of three separate, wasted stories. The price of two of the books alone is ridiculous and is unfair to the readers.

I absolutely couldn't wait to start reading this book after finishing up This Boy, I was so invested in knowing exactly what would happen next in Hunter and Camilia's story.

I must say I got quite angry with theses characters a few times in this story, the push and pull became a lot and the miscommunication between them made me frustrated to no other. That also made for one hell of a story! Yes! As these two worked out there stuff you could feel the emotions from them both, just how much they loved each other. Hunter is more frustrating to no end, boy does he have a lot of growing up to do for sure and Camilia i love how no matter what she is not giving up her dreams for no one and she is willing to fight for the future she wants.

I am diving directly into This Love because I want to know more on Hunter and Camilia.

Ok, with Book #2, This Hurt, I'm admittedly more into this story. These two young people are growing on me. I enjoyed this book a bit more than Book 1. The continuing angst and back and forth grabbed me this time and by the end I felt more invested in whether or not these two teenagers were going to be able to work through their problems and find the happiness they so want and deserve. Of course, just when I thought they had a chance, jealousy, rumors and lies rear their ugly head and threaten to blow their world apart. NOW, I'm really gasping as I finish this book, hanging by my fingernails wondering if I will survive, if THEY will survive this tumultuous turn of events! Bring on Book 3, please!!!

This Hurt is the second book in the This series. Camilla is dealing with the fallout of Hunter's secret that could derail her future. This Hurt definitely continued the drama and push and pull that these two find themselves in. Hunter isn't the most healthy relationship for Camilla at this point but he has genuine feelings for her. Camilla is still facing obstacles left and right and we finally learn her secret though there's still more to Hunter than we realize. Ultimately though the big issue of college that started all this is right around the corner and can't be showed to the side forever. I did enjoy this book and series so far and can't wait to finish the third

This Hurt starts off where This Boy left off. Camilla is reeling from a devasting blow and ultimate betrayal. Hunter is struggling with the thought of being alone when Camilla goes to college. As book two progresses, we get a better insight into the past Camilla is so desperate to escape and how it set her on her path, looking to college to escape. I liked book two, but Hunter's insecurities controlled his behavior in ways that really ticked me off. Once again, I ended book two with the same thought I had after book 1, Hunter, what did you do? On to book 3. Camilla has to have the patience of a saint at this point.

THIS HURT BY JENNA SCOTT

After what Hunter did to Camila, in a selfish act to keep her, I did not see how they could go forward. Camila has made the decision to follow her dreams and pursue her original plan. Camila and Hunter get closer beyond the attraction, she slowly learns about his past and what made him this way. Reading this book felt like a car crash waiting to happen, we know the end result for the characters we just don't know what will happen. Hunter is not what I expected for a playboy, he cares for two people in his life and lives for them. Camila has kept her past a secret of why she left her previous school, what happens when Hunter finds out the truth?

I love teen angst! So sue me. I feel for Hunter, even though I don’t want to. His “role models” regarding love and relationships are nonexistent. It feels like he’s self sabotaging simply because that’s all he knows how to do. Once again, I really admire Milla’s strength and perseverance, especially when her mom keeps encouraging her to take the easy way out. Borderline obsessed with the trio that is Milla, Emmett, and Isabel. Their friendship and support of one another really shines through in this book and comes at a time when Milla needs it most. Another ending that blew me away! Already onto the third book. *I received a copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

This picks up where the first book ended. I'm not feeling this. I think Camilla caved and forgave Hunter to fast, he really didn't show he was sorry or he regrets what he did. Somethings get dragged out, I didn't need two chapters on her studying for a math test. Then I don't understand how she got expelled from her last school when what is revealed makes her a victim, even more so when the little more that is revealed at the end. Then Hunter's persona seems to come off annoying now. Then the second cliffhanger just seems ridiculous. Hoping the third book picks up.

This Hurt by Jenna Scott

This is the continuation to Camilla and Hunter’s story. It picks up where the cliffhanger left is on This Boy. I must be completely honest but this book I kinda had a bit of a problem with. I thought it was to dragged on dot get me wrong the story line was great but I felt like it was a bit dragged out. Not all was bad though I loved the relationships between Camilla and Isabel as well as Emmett. Oh and let’s not forget Jenna she sure grabs your attention. Again it ends leaving me with so much more questions so I am definitely reading the conclusion.

After how the first book ended, I was really hoping the second book would be a little more interesting but was let down even more with this book than the first. I’m all for second chances, if deserved that is, but I honestly don’t feel like Hunter deserved one but yet Milla dives head first again.

The book lacked depth along with the ability to grasp the reader’s attention. I had to literally force myself through the book because of the commitment made but there are absolutely no intentions of reading again.

Camilla is strong despite events that would tear most people down. I was less of a fan of Hunter in this book. He was entitled, controlling, and toxic when it came to Camilla.

I did like that this book picked up right where This Boy ended. It just fell short for me because of the toxic relationship the main characters had.

I might read the next book as this one ends in a cliffhanger with unanswered questions. I want to see how Camilla and Hunter's story ends.
