I absolutely loved this book (and the first two in the series). It was the perfect balance of adventure, mystery, moving and fun elements. This series was such a fun read and I managed to get through all three books in only a week (that's how addictive they were). I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a fun fantasy, adventure series.

I loved this trilogy and the final book was brilliant. What an adventure!! I look forward to the movie.

This is a spiritual allegory of how we can become trapped by the enticements of our flesh, from the boastful pride of life to gluttony to anger. While the characters are endearing, the realm of Medar and Tyrelia clearly portrayed, what I liked best was the message.
As Freya tells her brother Jack, “Our mistakes don’t define us. It’s the choices we make going forward that define us. Better choices. That’s one lesson I’ve learned the hard way.”
This is the third book in the series, with a cheerful ending. The losses of loved ones through bad choices, brutality and selfishness temper the happiness with the reality that our choices have consequences that can be permanent and devastating.
I like this series and recommend it as an allegory worth reading. I only gave it three stars because it isn’t gripping. However, it is a meaningful read.
