Titan Termination #3

Monster Hunting 301

We did it! Mulrand has been defeated. Together with my fellow Venators, we have finally managed to take back the surface and install a Fort for all the new recruits to train and get elevated.

But that doesn’t mean that life is any easier now, oh no. Killing that Titan was only the first step in colonizing that strange world up there that remains as deadly and as mysterious as ever. In fact, while I still recover from the ferocious battle of Gloriana Valley, I get the disturbing report that a team of Venators—more than a dozen strong—has been killed in action while scouting the area surrounding Mt. Hessua.

It is now up to me, the Huntmaster, to investigate. Accompanied by Lily-Verna—the split personality of Elder Verna, possessed by an ancient spirit—I make the journey to the top of the mountain. On the way, we make contact with a horrific beast, but also strange creatures that might hold secrets to help us. On the way, we stumble upon an old armory containing Legacy Weapons that used to belong to the former generation of Venators. Maybe that’s the edge we so desperately needed and that will help us in our mission…

But it’s a big world out there, much bigger than the Zinoss Jungle we claimed as our own. And if we want to expand our territory and make it truly safe for the villagers still living underground, we will have to hunt down to the last monster. Titans included.

Book three

Mistakes: I only found one mistake and it could have just been a speech pattern, but I doubt it.

Plot: More monster killing. Some political stuff. Finally we see a hint to maybe getting some answers for why everything happened.

Characters: Some interesting new characters joining the cast.

Too short, I want more!

I loved it! The storyline was very good and the growth of the MC is a new thing to see. You did a great job!

Rediscovering the secrets of the past has consequences, good and bad

Avery’s determination, luck, and focus on saving humanity is a big torch to carry. She definitely struggles with it at times, as we would expect, but while her husband has struggled with his infirmity, he hasn’t given up yet.
Now he gives an ultimatum. They lose the only other veteran team they have, and Avery must go investigate.
She also needs to create more venators, so some hunts are in order.
Stories within stories, but even though there are setbacks. There are losses, and some huge gains in this one. The monsters are stronger outside their little corner, where they have been training new venators on the local kinru population. Avery knows she needs help, but should she consider the long term ramifications or just get the muscle onboard? Read on to find out that and more, like if Susie and Todd (dating couple) can survive a hunting trip with Avery to become Venators in truth. Oh and we see another cool skill tree that I hope to see more of!

Lessons learned

Another excellent book in the series. Fast paced action oriented nice mechanics you really can’t complain about it. I only have two issues really. First the main character is coming upon a lot of skills and when it comes time to pick something the author list everything that can become cumbersome to read through. We need a better way to shrink this down and only highlight the skills she picks and why. The next issue is this story got a little bit discombobulated in the new area let’s call it that you’ll know what it is when you get there. There’s just a small section of the story that while it’s entertaining it doesn’t quite click. Everything before and after this point makes sense but this new group of people that are discovered I understand why they have to be discovered but where they are discovered how they are discovered doesn’t quite add up.

Also not to spoil anything but people do die in the series it just sucks.

Ugh, here we go. As normal with this author, things start getting a little disjointed, the longer the series goes on. He does a better job here than in some of the other series, but we're starting to lose track of the overall story and the books are starting to feel very serialized.

It can still be entertaining, but make sure that the suspension of disbelief and detailed focus need to be relaxed.

Hard Choices

Book 3 of the Titan Termination series. Our heroine keeps getting more and more powerful even as she reunites the remains of human civilization. This book deals with the big topic of cowardice and what it means when lives are on the line. We get a hint of what is really happening although just a hint and something new about titans. The next book is the last in the series and this wild ride is nearly over. Excited to see how this one ends.

Fading fast

I liked the first book. It had issues, but was interesting.
This is the 3rd and... too messy. It is LitRPG, but this time those that help, former venators, just seem messy. We start with getting mystic weapons and an explanation of how the can grow with leveling. The story never really get up to the promise of the first book.

Amazing

This series is pretty amazing. Its one of the only game lit books I've read with a female protagonist. Honestly this is a must read for me. One of the most entertaining series I've read recently.

Exciting

Thoroughly enjoyed reading this series. Read all three books in three days. You have to finish the story, when is the next book coming out?
