Really excellent choices to pick T, D, and N sounds for this one. You can definitely tell the author has experience in speech therapy because those sounds all use a lot of the same front tongue movement.

Cute story about their Dad taking them to get a new pet! What kid wouldn't enjoy thinking about that? Which, now that I think of it, I suppose could be a small problem - just be prepared to deal with questions about pets. After evaluating lots of animal options, they decide on a kitten (or maybe a cat).

The illustrations are beautifully done, and I loved the cat room at the shelter and the way they were all hanging out up high when they could. The story is captivating and I think kids will want to read this one over and over to see the different cats, and it will give them more exposure to those sounds.

A fun story to learn phonetic sounds

This is a short and simple story about two siblings who want to adopt a kitten and teaches how to make the T, D and N sounds. It's a fun way to teach young developing readers how to produce and recognize the sounds. Great for kindergarten or preschool children or struggling readers.

My youngest is a Kindergartner who is loud and opinionated and has a slight speech issue. He'd enjoyed the first book in this series, 'Wendy's Winter Walk', so I bought 'Ted and Tina Adopt a Kitten' to expand our collection. Totally worth it!

As my opinion matters less than the intended audience, here's what my child's review:
"The kittens are so cute!"

Okay, so parents may need more than that. 'Ted and Tina' weaves in the directions of mouth movements as well as incorporating the usage of the sounds, encouraging the child to repeat the sounds aloud. For an impatient six-year-old, my son giggled and delighted at making the sounds. Unlike with most books, he gets more practice and without realizing it, his speech is making improvements.

I highly recommend 'Ted and Tina Adopt a Kitten' for any young reader.

Fun and Educational

The kindle version was difficult to read on my device but I managed to get through the book. Its a fun story designed to help kids pronounce the sounds for t, d and n. Amazingly, many opportunities to do this are weaved into this story so its a great learning tool for kids.

Another hit out of the park for Cass Kim!!! This second book (first is Wendy's Winter Walk) in her children's series is a great little story and, again, beautifully illustrated! A VERY useful developmental tool for lil ones that struggle with speech.

This fun, playful story about two children selecting the perfect pet is sure to be a hit with kids and their parents! Cass Kim presents another adorable installment in her Speech Sound Series, designed to help kids work on practicing targeted speech sounds within the context of a favorite book (here she focuses on the t, d, and n sounds). The delightful story of Ted and Tina is so much fun that kids won’t even realize they’re working on speech sounds. Instead, they’ll be focused on the many different cats our main characters meet, all beautifully drawn in lovely illustrations integrated with the text. As a Speech-Language Pathologist specializing in early intervention, I feel this book would be a great addition to any family’s collection, especially for parents looking for a good way to encourage speech sound practice at home.
