I had been so giddy to get my hands on Lucca’s story to get the answers I was looking for after the events that happened in Savage Beginnings. His story was quite the ride. Broken Beginnings happens simultaneously to the action taking place in Savage Beginnings and Violent Beginnings, but it can totally be read as a standalone.

Claire and Lucca...we start out with give and take, will they won't they...more like SHould they or SHOULDn't they??? But then tension breaks and incomes the steaming teakettle, whistle-a-blowin'! Claire has grown up just outside of the danger zone and fiercely protected but when she is too old to be a mere witness she falls in deep. I did enjoy this book however if I had to pick a genre for this book, I would pick dark romance. Yes, there was a bit of the mafia lifestyle throughout, however it made up about 10% of the book. Now, I'm not saying that's a bad thing, I did enjoy the storyline.
