Well, this one caught me off-guard since it is a story about new beginnings and reincarnation that is directed at middle-grade readers. It is a bit of fantasy and a unique take on what happens to us after we leave Earth and how our soul transforms into a new identity, one that might not be in a human form. Rain is waiting for her new life and is told by a distant voice to be patient and that it will come.

Hidden Wings is an adorable middle grades story that shows you do not have to fit in to be happy.
The story follows Rain, who is a soul set on choosing a “form” for Earth that is very uncommon. She comes across animals who are very unforgiving yet finds a way to stay true to herself. I love her story and how she consistently tries to press on regardless of tough times.
