Rate this book
Alize’ Bishop had her whole life planned out according to how she wanted to live it, but we all know life doesn’t go as planned. Just as everything she ever wanted was right at her fingertips, a force to be reckoned with turns her life upside down. Nita Avery simply wanted to get rich and have fun, but she realizes how hard it is when nothing goes as planned. She’ll stop at nothing to get where she wants to be. With love on the brain, Shana Smith finds it hard to stay focused. Although her life is filled with uncertainties, the one thing that she’s sure of is her love for Ethan. When you come from the bottom, there’s no way to go but up. Well at least that’s what April Scott believes. But once a certain truth is revealed it isn’t clear for her if her quest to the top is sending her up or spiraling down. Will Alize’ be able to defeat such a force and still come out on top or will she lose everything? Will Anita make it to the top or will the bridges burned cause her to drown in a sea of hopelessness? Will Shana get it together or fall victim of a love that is not her own? Will April make it out of the trenches or will she dig herself a deeper hole?

This book was well written. The story pulled me in from the start. The ladies featured had one thing or person in common and that was Alize, who was no-nonsense and a straight shooter. All of the ladies had internal enemies that needed to be fought before they completely ruined their lives. The story moved well with good character development, a good plot, unexpected "villains".I did think I was going to get confused by all the characters to keep track of but the way King wrote the story once all of the players were introduced dismissed that thought. Good job! I can't wait to see more from these characters. They all have much more to say.

D@mn Good Read

Alize' is a boss! She never let life beat her and that's why she's always going to win. I'm happy that she accepted April and Samantha. She didn't have to and in doing so she showed great strength of character. I'm glad Mike saved Shana from gold tooth and Ethan. She deserves real love that's all her own. Nita was and is a hot mess, ghetto thot that didn't deserve Alize'. I hope she she Tim rot together. I would like to read the book referenced just to see how it came about. No complaints with this book!
