The book begins with the early days during the settlement of Halifax and leads to how the outbreak of WWI resulted in an economic boom for the city. Then disaster struck. The author includes interviews she obtained from a number of individuals who survived the horrific event. An easy enjoyable read which adds to the background information of this historic event in Canadian history.
