To the outside world, Caroline Wentworth is the new cold and cutthroat CEO of the struggling Wentworth Hotel chain. Always dutiful, Caroline lived by her father's constraints, squeezing into the suffocating mold of the perfect southern socialite. Since his death, she runs the show and makes the hard calls he refused to face, earning her the title of 'Ice Queen' from her employees.
FBI Agent Isaac Rivera is used to assertive people, but he's met his match with Caroline. Convincing this driven and overworked woman that she's in danger is his hardest mission yet. Just when he thinks he has her where he wants her, Caroline blindsides him again with her determined independence. Refusing to back down, Caroline has a hotel to save, and can't possibly get sidetracked by an irresistible FBI agent. With danger looming and his heart burning, can this Knight thaw the fiery Ice Queen?

I liked that we get Caroline's story. She really did get shafted in Liam's book so I love seeing her find someone else who can truly love her. Caroline's and Isaac's story started out a bit slow for me. I know we needed the story to get set up and Caroline is so cautious after everything that happened before, so I get it. It just made the first part slow to read. I loved Isaac. Tall, dark and tatted? Yes please. I really loved how protective he was of Caroline and how hot he was for her. Plus give me a guy who's good with kids and I'm gonna love him.
This is first MF I’ve read and it was an interesting story apart from the MF relationship aspect. The Queen in the story being Caroline Wentworth, heiress of a big hotel chain. After a bitter breakup from fiancé she is determined never to get involved with another man.
Wanting desperately to become a mother she enlists with a top notch fertility clinic to go it alone.
Isaac Rivera is an FBI agent, divorced. He’s been dispatched to the Luxe Hotel in San Diego to check up on a client who is on a hit list.
After a battle of wits with a Secretary he eventually forces a face to face meeting with the possible target.
Lots of Sherlock Holmes activities going on at the Luxe during the week of its opening after a complete revamp. Drug smuggling, ancient artefacts smuggling, human trafficking, all in a days work for Isaac, the Knight without armour against the formidable Caroline Wentworth.
Plenty of steamy activity for this FBI agent and the Queen.
I'd been in love with Liam from the first book I read that had him in it, so it felt a little strange to want to hate him for being the man that had hurt Caroline. But that's how quickly I became invested in her; her thoughts and feelings. Since I've always been a sucker for an alpha protector, I adored Isaac almost from the word “go”. Their romance is a fairly slow burn. There's instant lust, but it took time for both of them to get over the emotional wounds of their pasts. I thought I had the mystery of the threat against Caroline all figured out. I was throwing hissy fits that the characters weren't putting the puzzle pieces together the same way I had. Then the author had to go and throw an extra twist in there that left my jaw hanging open. I may have only just finished reading this book, but already I'm desperate to dive into the next one in the series.
FBI Agent sent to be a bodyguard for a Queen of a very wealthy Hotel chain. One look and he was sunk , he knew she would be come his one way or another! Queen bee of the Hotel of course could care less about the guy until he made his move. He was there to protect her from a smuggling ring and trafficking! It's a great story with lots of mystery, sexy steamy romance and just fun filled characters. I recommend you read this book and I give it a 5 Stars review
Isaac is a sexy FBI agent who is good at his job, but not at love. Marrying his childhood sweetheart, he now has a divorce behind him, and wants to find happiness. He is assigned to a case where he meets Caroline, a hotel heiress known for her business-like demeanour and iciness. She has a failed engagement in her past. Can he melt her heart with his charm, or will she be just another case that he'll move on from, and never look back?
Caroline's life is in danger. Isaac is the FBI agent assigned to keep her safe and find who's threatening her. Things are slow getting going then she thaws a little and things heat up. He needs to protect her, find the threat, convince her to give him a chance, and help her make a baby.
This was so good. Isaac is investigating a threat to Caroline's safety and any possible link her hotel has to the bad guys. Life threatening and life altering events bring them closer. Nice to see some old friends from the rest of the series.
One of my favorite books. I’ve reread it several times. Caroline and Isaac’s relationship is beautiful and there’s just enough suspense to make it interesting.
These #RoguesandRescuers by #LucyLeroux just keep getting better! #KnighttakesQueen is the third in the series and the best so far imho! 😉
Caroline and Issac are inevitable and I love the almost insta-love from our swoony AF #alphahero! Our heroine takes a bit longer to accept what our hero is offering but once she does, it’s 🌋🌋🌋! These two battle through all sorts of hijinks and trouble, with the help of his awesome mostly female family and other supporting characters, to get their #hea. Loved every second of this #romanticsuspensenovel. ❤️
But the book needs a good edit. Which is really surprising given my love of the Singular Obsession series, and now the spin-off books.
We have been introduced to Caroline's character previously and our intrepid FBI agent Isaac is the perfect bad boy for the uptight hotel heiress. A bit of slow suspense together with a longer romance made for good reading. I loved the characters and they were well developed, but the book pace was somewhat slow. And,as mentioned, editing issues did detract from my enjoyment of the story.
