The gardener and the lady. This is set in modern-day England which took me a few pages to work out.

Lady Gabriella Hastings wants to learn about gardening. The problem is her father wishes she was looking for a husband. The gardener of their estate, Miles is trying his hardest to stay away from the beautiful upper-class lady, and this family has a few hidden secrets. Can the family be happy with modern life, or will traditions dampen their aspirations?

As with all of Hart's rom coms, this was a low angst, fun read with plenty of banter. It was definitely lacking in the romance department for me, but makes a solid series starter for what could be an interesting series of standalones. This is technically written in British English, but I honestly didn't notice much of a difference, so don't let that hold you back from reading. This lighthearted read is sweet and playful, with a little bit of forced proximity and a little bit of opposites attract ...more

ARC kindly received for an honest review.

This one took me a while to get into, and I'm, not really too sure how I feel about the characters. They were likeable enough, and they had some great discussions, but I'm just not sure. My frame of mind at the moment with personal things may be affecting my reading, so don't take too much stock into this review, as I'm not sure it would be the same as my normal reviews.

The main character had some great values and opinions and wasn't afraid

5 star review Love Language (The Aristocrat Diaries #1) by Emma Hart

If Love Language is anything to go by, Emma Hart has a winning series on her hands. From the first chapter I was fully immersed in the story Ms.Hart wove. This was a fun story that was entertaining with characters who I found easy to relate to.

All it takes is one kiss; it was entertaining to watch as Lady Gabriella Hastings and the gardener at her family’s estate Miles Kingsley cross the line. Her father wants her to marry a man

Hart’s new romantic comedy, Love Language, is the first book in The Aristocrat Diaries. A series that takes place within the British aristocracy and gives us a more witty and entertaining look into this upper-class.

At the beginning of the story we get to meet twenty-seven year old, Lady Gabriella Hastings, whose father wants her to get married and is constantly trying to set her up with eligible bachelors. But that’s not what Gabriella wa

"Love Language" had a slightly different feel and tone than Emma Hart's last several books, which makes sense since it's set in England and written in British English, but it still contained every bit of the wit and charm I've come to expect from Hart's writing, and I absolutely adored it.

Lady Gabriella Hastings, daughter of the Duke of Bath, is expected to marry well and let her husband take care of her for the rest of her life, but she'd much prefer to spend her time doing the things she love

I was a tiny bit leery due to the last part of the synopsis, sometimes the British English can be a bit confusing for me when I’m reading just a fun story. But other than one or two words I had to Google, I didn’t have any issues with this in that way! The image above my review kind of is perfect to go along with one of the quotes that I had to save from the book.

“Stop Queen Victoria! She’s going on a rampage!”

So the hilarious aunt in this story had two goats, the names in the excerpt above, Que

If you are looking for a fun, entertaining read look no further than Miles and Gabriella’s story. Coming from England I adored the typical English snarky humour and it was a story that captivated me from the first page to the last line. It’s a wonderful start to Emma Hart’s new series and I highly recommend it to all rom com lovers.

ARC kindly provided in exchange for an honest opinion.

Love Language is the first book in Emma Hart’s new series The Aristocrat Diaries and follows Gabriella and Miles.

Gabriella comes, unlike Miles, from high society and is being expected to marry someone in the near future from the same social status. But instead of following those „orders“, Gabriella is studying horticulture and does not like to think about marrying anyone any soon.

Love Language is book 1 in the newest series "The Aristocrat Diaries " by Emma Hart. This is Gabriella and Miles's story. This is a modern day slow burn twist on the Pride And Prejudice style writing. It's a romcom with more biting humor. Gabriella is an aristocrat, while Miles is the family gardener. It's opposite attract yet It's how they get to that attraction and how they start off vs how they end up is night and day. This is a charming foray into upperclass England with quite a lot of humorous over exaggeration….a very lighthearted romp through the English countryside!
A bit too much Downton that could have done with a bit more Lady Chaterley’s but otherwise some fun characters and it made me chuckle!!

.An aristocrat and a gardener walk into a bar, and the barman says—never mind. They walked into a shed, and they’re kissing. Oops.

As always with a book by Emma Hart, the female character is fun, quirky and the plot isn't without its moments that will make you titter a laugh to yourself.

A new style of writing for this author, Ms. Hart has embarked on writing British English instead of the many books she has previously written in American English and of course, the characters and the lo

I was provided an ARC via the author, all opinions are my own.

This is a new series from Emma Hart following aristocrats in a small English town. This follows Lady Gabriella Hastings, who is not what you'd expect. She wants to go to college, get a job, and play in the dirt. She loves plants and wants to design gardens as a career. You wouldn't expect that from someone with a fancy royal title, but she is pretty down to Earth, loves the people of the town and her goal is to get a job doing somethi

If her father could have his way Lady Gabriella Hastings would have already been married of to a respectful man but alas Gabi has other plans which most definitely dont include marrying one of the boring men from their circle. Gabi has her heart set on learning more about gardening and all that goes into creating these little wonderlands, however getting a foot in the estate gardens are proving a lot harder with their head gardener Miles being so standoffish with here every time!

If you’re a fan of the Jane Austin novels, then this series might be for you.
I’m a huge fan of Pride And Prejudice, so when I saw that this book was similar to the writing to it I was just super excited to give this a try. Everything that I’ve read of Emma Hart’s has just been incredible, there is always something for everyone when it comes to her writing. However, this book is so much different to her other books, but even with the setting completely different, I still enjoyed every

Gabriella is a British aristocrat, the daughter of a Duke, and lives on a huge estate. But she’s not your typical Lady.

She has a love of gardening and is secretly taking a horticulture class at the local college. When she gets stuck on an assignment, she considers asking Miles, the head gardener at the estate, for his guidance, but Miles seemingly dislikes Gabi very much. He has only ever been short with her, rude to her, never friendly despite her best efforts to be nice to him. Gabi knows she

So. Much. Fun.

And I have this unexpected need to get plants, or at least go and look at some pretty ones and contemplate buying never knows.

But, I thoroughly enjoyed this book and am totally looking forward to reading the rest of the series!

Ok, I gotta admit, I adored Gabi. She is an aristocrat. She has been brought up with certain privileges, but she is a really good person. She’s sweet, has a huge heart and has no issue standing up for herself ~ though

Emma Hart gives readers a glimpse into the British aristocracy with a swoony romantic comedy between the Lady of the estate and the gardener.

Gabriella Hastings may have been born a Lady, but she is happiest when she is either helping others or puttering in a garden. She isn’t interested in the titled men her father has tried to set her up with, but instead wants to find her own way by taking university courses in garden design. She’s also got an interesting undercover hobby, but we’ll let you se

As I’ve come to expect from Emma Hart books, Love Language had little drama and a ton of fun antics. I adored this story and especially the character. This story is written in what’s called British English but I’ll be real, there wasn’t much that was amiss for me but maybe some phrases and some key words… so don’t let that put you off… I imagine the audiobook would be amazing! I received this free eARC novel from the author. This is my honest review.

Emma Hart is an automatic author I read and I seriously adored this novel! Because it's written in British English (and I am American), I was worried I wouldn't catch a lot of things - but that's not the case! In fact, in my head I was hearing it like Downton Abbey characters talking, only for Gabriella to mention Downton Abbey a few times, so that was fun :)

I've really enjoyed reading this book. A funny, light and entertaining read that'll keep you on your toes. I adored both Miles and Gabriella but damn the aunt was just sooo funny while reading this story, kept me laughing out loud. I'm actually not really familiar with British English style of writing, I noticed something different but never bothered me, maybe has to do with having so many British friends that I'm used to the language in general but it was nice to have something diffe

What a cute and fun read this is. A different book than the ones Ms. Hart usually writes. It is set in the UK and has the same humor as Ms. Hart is known for, just with a new twist.

Lady Gabriella is tired of her father’s match making. The aristocrats are such a bore. She just wants him to let her live her life her way. In a garden. She loves the gardens in her family home. She is even taking a class. All she needs now is to convince her father and get over her crush on the gardener, Miles.

This is the first book in Emma's new series...... this was a fun, sweet read, full of banter and some craziness that is a common theme in Emma's books, that added to the wit and humour and left me with a smile on my face.

Set in modern day England, Lady Gabriella is a loving, kind hearted soul, who wants to learn about gardening. Her father is after her marrying someone with a title ensuring she is happy and cared for, in his eyes. But Gabriella has a crush on the gardener......

Lady Gabriella Hastings isn't interested in finding a husband she wants to map out her own path. She wants to learn about gardening.  Miles is the gardener on their estate and she has so many questions to ask him about the subject of gardening. She also has a tad crush on him.  Gabby doesn't think Miles likes her because he is always rude to her and seems bothered by her presence.  Gabby has no idea that Miles is trying to keep her at arm's length because he finds her

A slowburn romantic comedy with an Upstairs Downstairs meets Lady Chattersley’s Lover vibe albeit without the naughty bits in it as Duke’s daughter Lady Gabriella Hastings falls the handsome gardener who would definitely give Mellors a run for his money in the broody category, Miles Kingsley.

This was a quick and fun read with no drama, just basically an old fashioned love story with witty dialogue and a few laugh out loud moments namely involving animals which I’ve noticed is a bit of a recurrin

What do a Lady and a gardener have in common? Well, according to Love Language, quite a bit actually. Lady Gabriella is her own woman. While her husband wishes for her to find a husband, she’s on her own schedule. She has plans and ideas that she wants to see through. Although, she can’t help but to have an eye for the gardener. Miles Kingsley has his own agenda. Stay disconnected and detached so as to not know the Lady and all will be well. He figures that if he can keep her at a distance then ...more

This was another fun read by Emma Hart!

This is the beginning of a new series - The Aristocrat Diaries. You meet Lady Gabriella who is obviously of aristocratic status (if that's how you say it). Her dad is trying to set her up with someone of equal status (or better) because he wants her to be taken care of. Her brother (who you don't hear much about) is off being the typical rich playboy but he will inherit the castle that she lives in and adores. He gets it because he's male and that's how thi

First, I have to say I didn't know this book was set in England till right before I read it and my lord that makes this book fantastic. I loved the aristocracy theme and showing modern makings of an old system.

This royal-commoner relationship in this book between Miles and Gabi was original and super fun. I loved that while the titles were there and the tension that comes with the titles, the tension between Miles and Gabi was something else entirely. I loved their enemies to lovers story and h
