"We are like islands in the sea, separate on the surface but connected in the deep." -William James.

Watch Me.

Friends, Mia, Scarlett, Sammy, and Riley are off to Whisper Island where they will concentrate on their artwork and enjoy some time away from it all. But they are not alone, Sammy's brother Rob and his new girlfriend, Opal are there. Which makes things uncomfortable for some. So much for a girl's time away.

Then one of them is found dead. But that is only the beginning. They

Great mash-up of popular teen horror series and movies including Harper’s Island, Blumhouse’s Fantasy Island meet Cabin in the woods and first movie of Friday 13th series without Jason Voorhees and its disturbing music at the scenes when he is about to attack.

What a delicious, wild, scream charmer, nail biter, blood freezer, jaw dropper combination ! I felt like I watched an action packed, fast pacing, thrilling , edgy, twisty movie which is rated on IMDb around 6.2 ( meta score might be around

This was a quick and fun read- I finished it over a period of a few hours. It centers on 4 friends who take a trip to a remote island in Alaska together in order to take a break from stuff going on in their respective lives as well as concentrate on their art. Riley, Scarlett, Sammy, and Mia are all in art college together and jump at the opportunity to get away on a free trip. Things almost immediately go astray, with Sammy's brother Rob and his girlfriend Opal showing up, and something happeni ...more

Whisper Island has my favorite type of trope: a locked room mystery. If anyone has ever met me they'd probably know that an instant selling point for basically any novel would be a set of characters in an abandoned location trying to figure out who the killer is before they all get picked off. It's a scenario so perfect for great plotting and having a great atmosphere, and Whisper Island has just that.

In this reiteration, we get a group of friends heading off to an island for an isolated retreat

With vibes of And Then There Were None by Agatha Christie Whisper Island had a wonderful setting for a creepy mystery...a run down house on a desolate island. BUT...If you're gonna write an updated version of an Agatha Christie plot you better make sure it is done exactly right. Unfortunately this book didn't hit its mark and wasn't for me.

Despite having each chapter from a single character's perspective, which I love, they all seemed one dimensional and all were extremely
Four young women set out on an island adventure. Only one will return.

Whisper Island certainly sounds like my kind of book!

Thank you so much, One More Chapter, for providing me with a copy of this to read and review!!

I appreciate the opportunity to get to this one a little early.

"This," I pointed at the map, "is Whisper Island."

A chance for a group of college kids to get away for the summer and really explore their art. It's to an island off Alaska - one only accessible by boat. But it's free rent and all the art time they can manage - a time to really explore themselves.

Which sounds great until they arrive. The house isn't what they expect and their spooked by the arrival of another girl's brother and girlfriend. It doesn't take long for the murders to start. It's a fu

Four college girlfriends set off on a trip to a remote Alaskan island to work on their artistic endeavors. But this is no Bachelorettes in Paradise and things turn deadly very quickly as one is murdered in the forest. What's the motive and who are the intended victims? Told from alternating points of view, the novel focuses on sins and secrets of the past as we see flawed and unlikable characters attempt to run from the truth. Its creepy but what thrill ride isn't? I raced through this one!

“Watch me.”

“Killing you softly and slowly, one day at a time…”

This was a fast and gripping who-done-it kind of thriller. It took me a bit to really get into the story, but by the time they started planning their summer retreat on a remote Alaskan island, I was in. And when the first body showed up, I couldn’t put it down!

I loved the island setting, the short chapters and Ms. Lynch’s writing style! I was going to add her last book—She Lied She Died—to my TBR list, then I saw the cover and co

The whole time I'm reading this book, I have a horror movie soundtrack playing in my head.
There is some sinister and intense creepiness happening on Whisper Island, and (as a huge horror junkie) I'm living for it! This story is reminiscent of the tv show Harper's Island and the movies Ten: Murder Island and Fear Island. If you're a fan of any/all of these, give this book a read.

A very addicting read about 4 friends who go to Whisper Island for an adventure getaway and one by one are being killed off. The author does an excellent job with the anxiety filled atmosphere of being stranded in the middle of nowhere. I thank Netgalley for the opportunity to read and review this book.

I have received this ARC from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Whisper Island is very easy to devour in one sitting. In it, you will meet a group of people who get the opportunity to stay at a house in Alaska on an island for 3 months. Also, the entire stay is for free? So that being said, it was pretty hard to let this wonderful opportunity to pass by.

The group of people? Well, they are Riley, Sam, Mia, Scarlet, Rob, and Opal. Each person has a past and some dark secrets. With each tw

The setting is descriptive and well done, and you can imagine being on this creepy island full of secrets. However, the characters could be more developed as they felt pretty one dimensional. I can also see this being more appealing to the college-aged crowd.

Kindly received an ARC from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Mmm, I started reading this story several times, but time and again, another book came in between. Maybe those false starts didn’t help me to get into the story, or they were a sign I wouldn’t like this story as much as I expected when I requested it on NetGalley. Although I don’t read them that often as I did in the past, I do love thrillers. But this one was just not that enthralling.

The writing is good; it’s an easy and fast read (after I really started reading, I finished it quickly). At fi

From the outset - and the references to her suggest this was intentional - Whisper Island reminded me of Agatha Christie’s And Then There Were None. The remote island setting, a group thrown together, mysterious deaths and secrets. While it might not have quite lived up to that book, it was definitely a good read.
Our focus is a group of fairly unlikeable friends. We can see immediately that they each have secrets and are using this trip to Whisper Island to escape something. The lack of detail h

Whisper Island has all the ingredients one needs for a creepy thriller; an abandoned house on an isolated island and characters with sketchy pasts and dark secrets.

This is a valiant attempt at retelling Agatha Christie’s classic And Then There Were None. Christie left some massive shoes to fill; this book did not fill them. The story felt rushed. I would have liked more time spent building up a creepy atmosphere in between each murder. I figured out the twist pretty early on and spent the rest o

Disclosure: I was provided a copy of this ARC from Netgalley in exchange for a review, however all opinions are my own.

Okay, yet another book about an island, and this one had me hooked from the get-go.

This book has multiple points of view, mostly between four friends Sammy, Mia, Scarlett, and Riley - but we also get little glimpses into the heads of Sammy's brother and his girlfriend, Opal.

The book starts out innocent enough, four friends decided to spend their summer break on an island in Alas

I wanted so much to love this book. The title and description were so intriguing and it sounded like just my book.

Unfortunately, it was underwhelming.

While the setup and premise are great, the characters are so incredibly immature. It wasn’t just that I didn’t like them (though I didn’t). It got to the point that I really didn’t care if they died. I was mildly curious about the why, but the who was obvious quickly. I also spent wayyyyy too much time wondering why people were lusting after th

Yes, I have work in the morning. Yes, it is late. Yes, my eyesight is getting blurry, but I refuse to go to bed until I know, the outcome of this story...

Aah, Whisper Island (love the title) is mysterious and ominous to the very end. It is remarkably good.

Thank you to NetGalley for an early review copy.

I liked the first 30% of set up for the story, but after that I stopped caring about the characters. At first, I liked that it was told from the perspectives of all four women, but since I stopped caring, I would rather it had been just Riley's. The brother was an unwelcome addition to the story, to some of the characters and to me. I don't get why anyone liked him or thought he was attractive at all. I did like that it was a nice quick and easy thriller. If you are a fan if Agatha Christie, the ...more

I didn't read the blurb on this book, I just saw the title and the author and knew I wouldn't be disappointed and I wasn't. I don't think I will hear the words 'watch me' in the same light again.

The story is told mainly from the four girls point of view and flows without backtracking. I loved this style of writing. The girls all had secrets and they twisted around the story perfectly. I loved the creepy, thrilling and murderous plot. The ending was brilliant. Highly recommended.

This enjoyable book is about four art students on a getaway to the remote Whisper Island in Alaska that very soon turns deadly. The story is told from the point of view of the four girls along with two surprise last minute guests. Riley is the quiet timid one and the newest to this close knit group of girls. Mia is the genius painter, daughter of a celebrity artist. Scarlett is the dramatic queen of social media and Sammy is the brains of the group, stern and serious, focused on the fine details ...more

Lynch’s frightening tale speaks of how a group of school girls grew and spent college together at Monroe College of the Arts. A prestegous school for artistic students. Each of the girls had talent. Mia was a painter, as was Sammy. She also had the brains and the talent to organize and work with money. Scarlett entered with her talent as painter but her true love was photography. Riley the one who was different, not so slim and gorgeous, but she co

Besides my family, my greatest love in life is books. Reading them, writing them, holding them, smelling them…well, you get the idea. I’ve always loved to read, and some of my earliest childhood memories are me, tucked away in my room, lost in a good book. I received a five dollar allowance each week, and I always — always — spent it on books. My love affair with writing started early, but it most ...more
