This is the second wedding planning book I've read. It covers the standard traditional wedding pretty well, but seems better for couples in their twenties than in their thirties and up. It seems a bit simplistic, but as a friend of mine reminded me, it is the "Idiot's Guide", after all.

I'd give this book a 3.5. Pretty good and helpful, esp. because it is up to date. I would recommend this as a helpful guide, and if you don't have time to read the whole book, there is a small box in each chapter that tells you just the really important information, so even that would be helpful.

This book had a lot of good advise on planning a wedding. However it was written by a wedding planner and really pushed the idea of hiring one for yourself. It also made every little detail sound so significant that you would regret it the rest of your life if you didn't do it properly (aka spend a lot of money on it).

Obnoxious:
If you want an obnoxious wedding...Use this book.
This book is just obnoxious and barely helpful.
even the photos are obnoxious...
you would have to be an idiot to buy this book...
Thank goodness the library has a few copies...

Again, pretty outdated but overall some helpful information. Glad I got this book from the library and didn't pay for it. The organization of chapters was a bit confusing for me too.
