Getting Lucky is the third book in the Asheville Brewing series by Denise Grover Swank and A.R. Casella. This is Jack and Maisie’s story. I’ve been looking forward to this one because I already had an attachment to these two characters.
From the start, I loved Jack Durand, the half brother that had never been acknowledged by the Buchanan family, until now. As part owner along with his siblings of Buchanan Brewery, he is slowly forming a relationship with his two half sisters, Georgie and Addy. H ...more

This being the third book in the series, we have seen a little of Jack and Maisie in the previous instalments, and now we get their tale and HEA. I do believe they are my favourite couple to date, but I am holding out for Lee as I think he is going to wow me.
These are all standalone novels, and can be read as one, but I do recommend you read from the start as even though each book is centred on one couple, they are all present and interactive in each book at all times. So knowing the previous c ...more

What an emotional and entertaining read! It's getting better and better with each new book!
There's everything you need - a lot of laughter, comic disastrous scenes, heartstrings pulling moments, some drama, family bonds, friendship, love and those adorable dogs that makes you fall in love instantly!
Wonderful realistic loveable characters. I absolutely love aunt Dottie, even more now! Even though where's aunt Dottie involved, there's going to be some kind of disaster too.

Out of all the characters, Jack was the most intriguing one I wanted to read about. He had an air of mystery around him that I was anxious to figure out. Although when I found out Maisie was the heroine in this one, I was a bit hesitant. In previous books, her demeanor just didn’t sit we with me. But in the end I think out of the three books released so far this one was my favorite.

I really liked this book. I think Jake and Masie have stories we needed to know. Jake has a lot going on and I hope everything will work out in the end. Masie has a past she needs to over come and work out her issues. I was glad to see these two get together. They was my couple pick. I knew sparks would be there if they could get everything worked out. There is a lot of learning in this book. It seems everyone finds their place in the family by the end. There is still all the fun you expect with

A delightful Rom-com full of endearing characters and sassy banter.
After an eventful Buchanan Thanksgiving dinner, sparks fly between Jack and Maisie but they agree it's just for one night. Jack's life is beyond complicated. I am loving this series!!! Maisie and Jack’s story is fun, flirty, tender and emotional. I laughed, I cried, I oohed and aahed. I really enjoyed getting to know Jack better. He has been pretty closed off, but turns out he is funny, sweet, loving, and a pet whisperer. Maisie has always been a firecracker, but underneath it all is hurting and grieving. Maisie and Jack give in to their attraction and instantly click at the beginning of the book. They try to fight their feelings, but as they get to

Maisie and Jack's night was just a one time thing. Or at least it was supposed to be. But feelings are developing, no matter that neither is exactly in the right frame of mind for a relationship. But a relationship it is, perhaps, though, until Jack finds the real reason Maisie was holding back from starting a relationship. Maisie has grown, a ton, in a short time, and it will be up to Jack to realize this and give her the benefit of the doubt, if he wants their rela ...more

When it comes to his family Jack has always felt like he was on the outside looking in and had no parental support to ease the transition. He may come across as distant but that is a shield he has perfected to protect himself. Finding himself responsible for his sister Iris will be enough of challenge so he certainly doesn’t need to add in the complication of being attracted to Iris.

If you haven't picked up this series yet, what are you waiting for?! Getting Lucky is the 3rd installment in the Asheville Brewing series and the best book in the series so far! This book is filled with sooo much Buchanen family drama and Dottie antics it's hard not to love it!

I absolutely loved Getting Lucky. Jack and Maisie are so fun. I have loved each book of this series even more than the last, which is crazy because I have loved each book so much. Getting Lucky has the entertaining Buchanan Brewery parties that I absolutely love and find hilarious. Jack is more fun than I thought he would be based in previous book. Maisie is just as sassy and fun and I hoped. Iris is wonderful and I hope to see more of her. I love Maisie's sisters too and would love to see more

I really enjoyed getting to know more about Jack in this installment. The mystery that has surrounded Jack in the past books is finally revealed and it just opened the floodgates. It can be a emotional book for some but I found it bittersweet. There is some comedy, and angst. I don’t think I’ll ever look at a goose the same ever again. If you know, you know! 🤣

I love this series because it seems like each story gets better and better.
Each time I start a new book, it feels like I am getting another layer to get to know ALL of the characters, past and present.
I really enjoy it because other series I have read in the past doesn't include past characters like this. Maybe a blurb here and there, but that is it.
In the past, I was not sure if I even liked either one of these main characters.

With each new entry in this series, I fall more in love with the Buchanan family. Although each book stands alone, I’m so glad that we still get to see glimpses into the romantic progress of the couples in the later books. Finn might still be my pick of all the boys so far, but Jack is a VERY close second, and the love story between Maisie and Jack is definitely my favorite of all. I loved watching the two of them fall in love, and it was so nice to dive into their pasts. I was worried that the

Could Jack be any sweeter of a man!!!
Maisie O'Shea is at a bit of a crossroads in her dating life. For as long as she can remember she has loved her best friend, River, yet never told him. It doesn't help matters that her best friend is now engaged to the sister of her other friend. She has based every attempted relationship on what type of man River is and subconsciously looked for men like him.....until she met the man who wasn't like him.

This is the third book in the Asheville brewing series and must be read in order to better understand the family dynamics and underlying plots.
I was pleasantly surprised to find Maisie as the love interest of Jack. Since her name is clearly in the blurb (that I didn’t read) this isn’t a spoiler. I liked Maisie from her introduction and follow up appearances in the last two books. I wasn't quite expecting her to be Jack’s love interest due to the unrequited love she had for someone else. Getting Lucky, the third installment in the Asheville Brewing series, is my favorite so far. Jack Durand, the half Buchanan brother, is running the brewery they inherited with two of his half sisters. His life prior to joining them isn't discussed much (since he just met his siblings) in the previous installments so it was fun to learn what had been going on and why he kept leaving Asheville. He is moving his little sister, Iris, to Asheville to get her away from their mother. Maisie is one of R

Once again, I have come into a series late, but I enjoyed the book all the same. However, my TBR list just got two new additions. Getting Lucky is the third in the Asheville Brewing series. Being from NC, of course, I was going to want to read this, and in the first couple of chapters, Jack was driving to Charlotte, so I was quite happy. Plus, double-love, Maisie has a corgi named Einstein (I have a stubborn corgi and a physics-majoring daughter). From there, the story could only get better.

Just one night, that was the deal Maisie and Jack agree upon before going to her house; this is because she has way too many hang-ups about her life and Jack is way too busy with his little sister moving to Asheville with him.

I've been anxious to get my hands on this story ever since I finished the last book in the series, and it turned out to be even better than I had hoped. Main characters Maisie O'Shea and Jack Durand had fantastic chemistry, and it was tough to watch them fight their feelings for so long. They each had some things they needed to work through on their own, however, so their reasons for waiting to start a relationship were understandable. I found it very easy to root for them to overcome those obst

Finally getting to know more about Jack! In the previous two books in this series, Jack has been somewhat of a mystery, although in book 2 we get to know a little more about him although nothing from his past. Jack has had a difficult childhood with the present parent he had, and at a young age he took responsibility of his little sister. When his mother continues to be unstable, Jack ends up getting custody of his sister, which requires her to relocate to town with him during her senior year. M

I thoroughly enjoyed this addition to the series. This writing duo have found their footing and the town they've created is adorably quirky and entertaining!
Maisie's transformation is slow, but compelling to watch. Having had her life upended with the death of her parents, it's understandable that she wants to keep everything else the same. (This is how some hoarding situations start.) It was beautiful to see her friends understanding the effort it took her to change, and were patient and suppor ...more

I have to start by saying Getting Lucky had the PERFECT amount of steam! You could feel the flirting, teasing, and sexual tension through the pages! It’s perfect without being crude.
I love how this series highlights the supporting characters and gives them growth and dimension and in Getting Lucky Dottie took the stage! She starts the book with her trademark tomfoolery, orchestrates love stories seemingly invisibly, and ends up standing up to Prescott in a most heroic way!

Getting Lucky is by far my favorite book in the Asheville Brewing series (so far). We've met Jack, the fourth Buchanan sibling, in the first two books but he's been mostly a mystery. Honestly, I didn't know if he was to be trusted in the past two books but I've grown to love him! We've also been introduced to Maisie but not as a main character. I love that, in this book, we get to really know the pair. Right out of the gate we get to see the chemistry between Maisie and Jack. I appreciate that t

Oh my! I do love this series and it was GREAT to meet several more of the characters! Maisie is the great best friend to two guys who has a past that forced her to grow up before her time. She finds love and contentment from running her own dog shelter where she cares for and re-homes dogs. Jack is the illegitimate son of a family he was never allowed to be a part of caring for his nearly 18 year old sister Iris. Thankfully, DGS has a great understanding of teens and write Iris to be pretty beli

Getting Lucky is the third book in the Asheville Brewing series but it could also be read as a standalone book. This one was definitely my favorite of the series. There was so much entertainment throughout and a great balance of romance, drama, and comedy. I loved everything about the book and reading Maisie and Jack's story. Even though this book focused on Maisie and Jack, there was so much drama surrounding the entire Buchanan family. I am glad that the characters from the previous books were

I very much enjoyed this story. This is the first in the series that I have read, so now I need to go back and read the rest.
The blurb doesn't actually do it justice. Jack and Maisie are very much entrenched in the same friend group. They definitely would have run into each other often without the wedding stuff, but I still loved the wedding stuff. It was a fun twist on the trope.
