Remington Kane is an American author that writes action-packed thrillers. The author might be unfamiliar to some people because Remington Kane is actually a pseudonym for Donald Wells.

Donald Wells has garnered a reputation for writing darker and somewhat serious novels about killers. The author was born in New Jersey. He never really left and has since made a home there. Like most of his peers, Donald Wells was an avid reader as a child.

He spent many an hour devouring every book he came across. And it wasn’t long before he began to yearn for the chance to write. Like many aspiring authors, Donald Wells knew he had the capacity to tell stories. However, he was a little hesitant to venture into such uncharted waters, not only because he didn’t know where to start with regards to writing a book but also because he didn’t have confidence in his own ability to produce compelling fiction.

Again, like most notable authors, Donald meandered about for a while. Rather than going into publishing the first chance he got, Donald tried his hand at various odd jobs. He worked as an insurance salesman, a Real Estate Sales person, and even a Retail manager.

The jobs, though seemingly meaningless in the grand scheme of things, did wonders for the author’s writing capabilities. Whether he was driving trucks or cleaning floors, Donald gained insight into the workings of the world.

He met unexpected people and heard their intriguing stories. He came across numerous strange encounters and even participated in some of them. He essentially dipped into so many unique aspects of life that it came as no surprise that he had more than enough stories rattling around his head when it finally came time to write his first novel.

Not that many authors can claim to have been offered a chance to act as bodyguard to a drug dealer. Since getting his first book sold, though, Donald has finally settled in his career. The author loves writing novels and there is nothing he else he would rather be doing. The fact that he has found a way to make money out of his passion makes him one of the luckier individuals in the world.

By the time Donald Wells began writing as Remington Kane, he had already become established as a novelist with numerous thrillers under his name. However, writing as Remington practically took over his life.

This is because Donald has achieved more success writing as Remington Kane than he did producing novels under his real name. Kane is best known for the Tanner series of novels. Tanner is a hit man who accepts a job to take out a mob boss.

When he is betrayed and thrown into prison, Tanner thinks of little else besides getting revenge. And once he finally gets his freedom, the hit man becomes a one man army, engaging in a brutal way against a crime organization known as the Conglomerate.

Each new book sees Tanner raising the stakes by finding a new target that will sting the Conglomerate in ways they couldn’t possibly fathom.

Remington Kane has been praised for the Tanner novels because Tanner is such a refreshing hero. The protagonist is so average physically, devoid of the exaggerated traits that most action heroes seem to bear. If not for his natural fighting and survival instincts, one would be hard pressed to tell Tanner apart from any other ordinary man on the street.

One would think that over 40 Tanner, or Tanner related, novels, that Kane would be able to come up with decent dialogue for the characters. Instead he seems to be getting worse.

Basic Tanner plot with a high body count. And worst of all, a damn cliff hanger ending.

Tanner, Romeo, & Henry are in NYC with Pullo, up against new gang threats, a sicario, a mole, and a family member of an old threat in the wings. Decent story, quick read, some of the normal awkward cheesy dialogue, and a couple of loose threads left at the end.

It's book #40, along with the Tanner: Year 1-4 and 8 Young Guns stories, it's amazing that Remington Kane still bangs these fun books out.

While taking a family trip to NYC, Tanner faces a variety of foes. Gangs and a variety of would-be Tanner killers line up for their turns to face the elite assassin. Alliances, plots, and betrayals abound to create a quick-paced welcomed addition to the series. I received an advanced digital copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.

Tanner, Romeo, Henry & Pullo

As always this one didn't disappoint in all the different ways to trick a killer. Henry's learning to become Tanner Eight and it's a good thing he's doing what Cody's teaching him. It's saved his life once again. I love the surprises that Duke always has for Tanner. It's great reading more about Romeo and Joe Pullo. It's like the gangs all back together. I loved this one too and as usual I'll be anxiously waiting for Tanners next exploits and those that try to kill him and Pullo. Thank you for another great book that I really had trouble leaving unread for very long and not able to put it down until I finished it!

Tanner Seven and Henry are back with old friends in NEW YORK trying to keep the mafia boss alive.

Tanner, Henry, and Romeo are in New York to take care of business and have some pleasure. But someone is out to kill Tanner. Then someone else is trying to kill Tanner and mob boss Puolo. Then someone is trying to kill Henry. So there is lots of action and reaction. Great story keeps you on edge right to end.

The Hits keep coming!!!!

Another great story by Mr. Kane. I really enjoy the progress on the Henry story line. The only bad thing about this book is that it only lasted me a day of reading and now I have to wait until the next chapter. But believe me, it will be well worth the wait.
Thank You Mr. Kane

I’m deleting all the Tanner books

These books center on a character named Tanner, a name used by 6 predecessor assassins. The amount of killing in this book was disgusting; the characters have no remorse and are generally paid to kill someone, almost anyone; innocents are killed along with enemy’s. Can’t take the disgusting narrative any longer. Adios Remington Kane.

Stalking Horse: Book 40

Tanner find himself in New York, taking a vacation only to find himself in the midst of a power struggle between Joe and the Crips. Before you know it, there is an enemy from within and multiple others not just attempting to gain power, but to read the planet of Tanner, Joe Pullo and Romeo.

It's Just Awful!!!

The ONLY drawback to the Kane Tanner books is that they end - and that's just Awful. Now I have to go through withdrawal until the next in the series comes out. Just awful.

As always, I couldn't put it down.

The characters are all different. The plots are well scripted and flow efffortlessly. As usually, I can't wait for next chapter in the Tanner series. Thanks again!!

Tanner remains the number one.

This novel was complete with many narratives of entertaining situations that were requiring Tanner to use his abilities to out last his adversaries. The theme of this book was true to the ongoing of the Tanner exposes.

Folks still messing with Pullo

Folks still messing with Pullo thinking they'll be able to beat Tanner first so they can then go after New York.

Aptly titled and amazing with all the plans to kill Tanner to no avail. Serial approach to the series works well and leaves you waiting for the next installment.

Not as good as previous but

Still a good read. Nothing really fleshed out. Maybe it’s me having grown up near MAFIA homes and seeing the damage caused along with the blatant hypocrisy of the Catholic Church because of the generous donations. I guess Salvation can be bought from the church if you have enough money.
