This book was really good you should make a third book
I think you should really make a third book because with the new map and everything I would like to see the new characters that they would do or if they would stay with their same characters!!!

Miles and Rhys' are back and are trying to defeat the final level in Mecha Quest, but each time they lose, they have to wait a full week to try again. There's real life challenges too, from navigating middle school to limiting screen time to choosing friends over winning. I really like the 1-week breaks, which force them to really plan their next attempt. There's some stuff that's not fully resolved, which is disappointing because another book isn't scheduled. Easy to pick up #2 without having read #1. For fans of video games, especially battle royale ones, like Fortnite.

I just got a copy of this from the publisher, to review for purchase consideration. Our library will be buying it.
The writing was a little better than the art. The art wasn't bad, just not as good as the writing.
That said, this story was fun and interesting. There were two major plot threads, one involving video games and the other involving the use of "vigilante" action to fight against bullying. The thing is, the vigilante was a little too off-center to be a hero, and the point of that part is that it's easy to become another bully if you fight bullying the wrong way.
The video game plot was really good, and I enjoyed the way that one of the characters had fun teaching his younger sister to play the game. The side story of taking a family trip was a distraction from the main story, but it also showed the readers a few things about the family dynamics involved. Oddly, we didn't see anything similar about the other family, but maybe I missed something in the earlier story about these characters. I believe the previous volume was called "Power Up," so I will take a look for that.

Read this book with G. We’d trade off sections to read. We didn’t know this was a part 2 and he wasn’t as motivated to read it, but then would laugh at several parts. G didn’t like it when I asked him his guess for what’s going to happen…haha.
