All Lumie wants to see is Goldie’s beautiful smile, but the only expression he ever shows Lumie is tears. When Goldie asks him for a favor, Lumie leaps at the chance to finally see Goldie happy.

Goldie wants to live a life free of the fear that has chained him for so long, but breaking free once and for all may come with a higher price than he and Lumie are prepared to pay.

Lummie's finally all grown up.

He still holds a special place in my heart, I adore him.

A sweet quick dragon fix.

A heartwarming and exciting, but also humorous series about a family of dragons working to make their supernatural world a safer place even as they figure out life and love with family togetherness. I'm addicted to the series and get a spark of glee for each new release.

Dragon Lesson is the sixth novella in the series and thrill of all, for me, it's Lumie's story. As the stories progressed from book one, Lumie has been the most unique and curious of Dane and Mercury's dragon kits. Now he's all g

I just found out that Dragon Lesson by Mell Eight is the seventh book in a series called Supernatural Consultant. Although I feel like I may be missing things, I felt it was very easy to follow and it is SO GOOD. It is one of my favorite science fiction books in 2020 - 2021. I love the concept of a supernatural investigator looking into a dragon sighting - wholesome, humourous, and clever. Plus there is a romance and backstories it seems like. It was easy to follow as I felt like I didn't miss m ...more

A fun short read with dragons. The characters are well developed for such a short read.

The plot is also interesting and comes to well rounded off conclusion, that will lead to a sequel from here.

If you are looking for short and sweet with a dash of cute this one is for you.

This series reads with the feels of a lifetime movie, only I'm awake at the end. What I love about this is the author took an original concept--a supernatural consultant investigates a dragon sighting--and has spun it into an extended universe that is as believable as it is fluffy. It's not easy to write a sweet romance that doesn't devolve into saccharine nausea, but time and time again this series has delivered. I also want to note how much I appreciate the world building, especially with resp ...more

My long-running grumble about this cute series has always been “needs more Lumie”, so imagine my delight when I discovered that not only was this Lumie’s book, but that he also wasn’t about to be romantically paired up with Alloy. (Goldie? Who is Goldie? Did I miss something?) Then imagine my horror when I found out that Lumie was all grown up, whiny and lazy, and I didn’t like him much at all!

Thankfully this doesn’t last long. Yes, he’s a bit whiny and is very lazy, but he’s still cheeky little

This is the sixth book in the Supernatural Consultant series and likely best enjoyed when read in order–but can be enjoyed on its own.

Lumie (short for Aluminum) is an 18 year old fire dragon kit, just maturing enough to be striking out on his own, but he’s not really keen on it. It’s nice living home with his foster fathers, Dane and Mercury. Dane is a half-god who controls the supernatural creature realm in the northeast US, and Mercury is a precious copper dragon with magic of his own. Lumie w

“Dragon Lesson” by Mell Eight is part of the ‘Supernatural Consultant’ series and centers on Lumi and Goldie as their relationship evolves and they begin to take on professional responsibilities for the government. Their adventures force them outside of their comfort zones, but it also helps them learn about their abilities and each other’s role in their relationship.

This gay fantasy story is part of a fun series that features several types of dragons who have different abilities, depending on t

Dragon Lesson is the 7th book in the Supernatural Consultant series by Mell Eight. Originally released in 2017, this reformat and re-release by NineStar Press is out 30th Nov 2020. It's a novella length short read at 99 pages and available in ebook format.

All of the books in the series are fun and quick reads full of romance and romantic drama. It's been entertaining to watch the dragon kits grow up and find their ways into young adulthood. Thi

4.5 stars!

Lumie has been my favourite character in this series and I'm glad we've finally reached his story. Time really flew forward considering he's 19 in this book though his general character of being lazy (something I can relate to) was still there. I loved seeing things from his point of view and how his magic worked, a mystery that was solved in this book.

From that review: " We're now up to book six in the Supernatural Consultant series by Mell Eight and she's still running strong and not out of dragon kits yet.  In Dragon Lesson, it's one of my favorite of Dane and Mercury's odd children or dragon kits as it were.  Lumie, a dragon of mixed elements the result of heinous scientific experiments, he's been something of an adorable en

This book cannot be read as a standalone, but it's worth reading the rest of the series before hand, as it's really well written and fun to read. This one was another quick and easy addition to the main series and concentrated on Lumie and Goldie, with the occasional piece from other characters point of view. I really liked finding out about Lumie and what made him so different from the others in his magic (and no I'm not telling you what that is), I also enjoyed how Goldie grew and learnt to d ...more

Absolutely adorable! All the stories in this series so far have been entertaining and cute, what with all the shenanigans the dragon kits got into as they were growing up, but now that they are college-age and discovering their mates, I am becoming even more of a fan. But ‘Dragon Lesson’ offers not only Lumie finding his mate amid lots of adventure, it also finally gave me an explanation of Lumie’s somewhat mysterious powers. Add the heartbreaking story of Goldie and his liberation from his past ...more

Lumie has been reaching out to Goldie as carefully as he can. Goldie is still traumatized from being experimented on and everything terrifies him. Lumie agrees to go to college so that Goldie can go too, of course where Lumie goes, disaster usually follows.

I loved the beginning of Lumie and Goldie’s romantic relationship. Lumie has always been my favorite of Mercury and Dane’s kits. Even though Lumie has always been a walking disaster (usually of his own making) he’s matured enough to make someo

Lumie has grown up in this book 15 years and he’s in love with Goldie a dragon rescued when they were young.
Lumie gets flashes of future happenings and in one Goldie is smiling at him, he does everything in his power to bring that about even if it’ll cause him to stop being lazy and learn more!
A lovely story of the boys growing up.
I adore this series watching each character find their own special someone is wonderful thank you Mell Eight keep writing

Aww, Lumie… he may be all grown up, but he’s still a handful. 😉

Dragon Lesson was a book of discovery for the most part. Lumie discovered where his unique brand of magic came from and Goldie discovered why his fear was so intense. The two of them helped each other.

This story was adorable. For as self-assured as Lumie was, that flew out the window when it came to Goldie. He’s known him for years, but he’s kept his distance and limited his in person visits to what he thought Goldie could handle. Go

3.5* upped as it is Lumie’s story
Not as mischievous now he is a bit older but fun all the same.
We get a bit more on the evil people experimenting on dragon kits.
We get a development for Lumie and Goldie though it did come along quite quickly despite the years building up to.
Both Lumie and Goldie learn more about their magic too.

This series was, in one word, adorable. Very teenage-meet-new-adult. I don't think I've ever read a book that used the words "evil", "scientists", "enemy" and "kit" so much and often in the same sentence. It was pretty annoying. Like reading a children's book that reinforces certain words kids that age need to learn.
The side stories (books 5.1 and 5.2) were very childish, it was just like reading a book aimed at preteens. The best one was the first, it pretty much went downhill from there. I did

Even though it's short it still packs a lot of enjoyment and wonderful characters in it's few pages. Short and sweet, it's another great addition to the series.
