Not everyone has a hero’s welcome home.

Joseph landed in Baytown when he left the military and had nowhere else to go. Used to being a loner, he discovered the small coastal town offered friendship… but love? That wasn’t even on his radar.

Until meeting her. The infuriatingly independent veterinarian. Known to all as Sam, to him she would always be Samantha.

When danger lurks for her, Joseph privately vows to protect her. But who will protect his heart when all he wants is to love someone?

Baytown Boys…

As an Award Winning and International Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and Kobo Best Selling Author, I have always been an avid reader. I joke that I "cut my romance teeth" on the old historical romance books. I’ve written as a hobby for over 30 years. In 2014, I finally gave in to the characters in my head pleading for their story to be told. Thus, Emma's Home was created.

My first novel, Emma's Home became an Amazon Best Seller in 3 categories within the first month of publishing. Its success was followed by the rest of the Fairfield Series and then led into the Love's Series. From there I have continued with the romantic suspense Alvarez Security Series and now the Saints Protection & Investigation Series.

My books are filled with sweet romance and hot sex; mystery, suspense, real life characters and situations. My heroes are alphas, take charge men who love the strong, independent women they fall in love with.
I worked as a counselor in a high school and have been involved in education for the past 30 years. I recently retired and now can spend more time devoted to my writing.

I have been married to a wonderfully patient man for 35 years and have 2 adult, very supportive daughters.
When writing, my dog or one of my cats will usually be found in my lap!

I love to hear from readers, so please email me!

I so loved writing Joseph and Samantha's story! He's a great character... protective, caring, but manages to put his foot in his mouth around her. And she's smart, competent, and yet longs for someone to share her life with.
The two of them are not perfect... but they're perfect together!

In book 14 of the Baytown series we get the story of Joseph, the friend of Zac and Jason who is a tow truck driver and Sam, the local veterinarian. We have met them in previous books and actually saw an interaction with the two of them and just KNEW that something could be brewing between them. I was looking forward to their story from back then and was not disappointed!

Joseph is a Navy vet and once he gets out he wanders from place to place looking for something, maybe a place to belong. He is a quiet guy and doesn’t really say much, maybe a bit of a loner though his two best friends are Baytown guys, Zac and Jason, who want him to come visit. He decides to give it a chance and stays for a while with a job and place to live thanks to Jason. He has a good heart which you see in how he treats animals and an older vet that he meets at the local American Legion meeting. He sees his friends with love in their lives and doesn’t think that will ever be him because he doesn’t deserve someone. When he meets Sam with his few words, he puts his foot in his mouth and continues to do so the next few times he sees her. It’s cringeworthy because it’s so bad but funny at the same time. Sam is an Army vet and now a local veterinarian. She is a bit prickly, though you can’t blame her with how Joseph interacts with her the first few times. She loves the community she lives in but considers herself a bit of an outsider as she is now watching her friends couple off, get married and have babies. She also has a good heart but is afraid to be hurt. She wants someone in her life but is a bit reserved. Their story is about finding love and becoming brave enough to go for it. One of my favorite quotes in this story is “You deserve a chance to love someone.” Wow, so true!

What I love about Baytown Boys is that they are ‘real’ - not billionaires or anyone special, just regular Joe’s. The stories and men are people you could know or could happen to you and that gives hope sometimes, to know that something like this could happen to you or your friend. These men are real and flawed just like our boyfriends and husbands. They hold regular jobs like police, fire fighters, mechanics, investigators and artists and that just seems to appeal to me. These are like regular people - your friends or your neighbors or yourself. I would love to visit Baytown, have coffee at Jillian’s or ice cream at Rose’s and meet these wonderful characters. Joseph and Sam had such a great story. I so look forward to the next Baytown because it brings us back and let’s us revisit old friends. ❤️

To Love Someone is a standalone story in the Baytown series. Samantha as the only veterinarian for small animals in the area is always on call and kept busy since taking over the animal clinic. When Sam’s truck breaks down, tow truck driver Joseph arrives and sparks seem to fly but not in a good way. Joseph seems to say the wrong thing and “put his foot in his mouth” whenever he tries to talk to the pretty veterinarian.

“I’d hate for you to miss out on the chance to love someone because you’re uncertain of the future.”

This story starts out slow and deliberate... a lot like Joseph himself. Joseph was in no hurry to settle anywhere. After leaving the Navy, he traveled the country stopping for a while, even working different jobs as he moved about. Almost like he was trying on places to see if they fit.

“I thought roaming was who I was. But I know that I was just searching. Not always looking to leave a place, but once I discovered it wasn’t really home, I left.”

I love a story with some mystery and suspense and I was not disappointed. A touch of danger with the sweet and swoony in this story had my heart racing! I fell completely in love with Sam and Joseph. What a wonderful return visit to lovely Baytown.

"Home is where your heart is or where the person you love is"

This is book fourteen in The Baytown Boy's and it is Samantha and Joseph's story and I have really been looking forward to reading there story and I definitely wasn't disappointed. Joseph was a drifter after leaving the military but when his friend's Zac and Jason from the military talked about Baytown and asking Joseph to come and visit he decides to take them up on there offer even though he never stays in any one place for long. Samantha works as a vet at Robertson veterinary clinic in Baytown after leaving the military but after her boss decided to leave because of family problem he decides towing over the clinic to Sam and even though she is shocked and knows it will be hard work she is definitely up for the challenge. When Sam and Joseph meet there chemistry is instant but it doesn't go very well as Joseph is a man of few words and they are the total opposite of each other. As Sam and Joseph spend more time together there feeling for each other change but Sam is afraid to get in too deep in case Joseph decided to leave again. There are many twists and turns along the way but that is what makes you keep turning the pages to see what would happen next and I couldn't put this book down as it was so addictive. I love how all the Baytown families support each other and are always there for each other regardless of the situation. Will Joseph find what he is looking for in Baytown and with Sam or will it all be to much for him causing him to leave and miss out of a chance of a happy ending and a future with Sam. The characters and storyline pulled you in right from the first page and I absolutely loved this book so much and I can't wait to read more Maryann Jordan books as she is an amazing author and writer and she certainly knows how to keep her reader's attention and I definitely recommend you read this book, series and other books by her and you will definitely not be disappointed.

Another addition to the wonderful Baytown series.
Samantha is trying to find her way in setting up her veterinary practice. Joseph is looking for a home after getting out of the Navy.
Their paths cross in Baytown. A sweet romance of veterans with a touch of intrigue draws you in from the start to the very last word. The author also educates you in wolf and hybrid wolves that is very interesting. This is added to one my favorite Baytown books though I love them all.
Strong hero/heroine who pull you into their world until the very end.
Received an ARC for an honest review.

Highly recommended!
A delightful couple, a delightful story, and a delightful addition to an amazing series! Baytown was a perfect place to spend this dreary, rainy day, it's was fun spending time with Frodo, Merry and Pip as well as old and new friends.

‘Military duty called them away to war zones, but after tours overseas, the group of friends found their way back home as men, seeking the peaceful little seaside town. Now, the band of brothers, together once more, work to provide a place for less fortunate veterans to call home.’

To Love Someone is the fourteenth instalment in the Baytown Boys series by Maryann Jordan. Having seen these books pop up on social media and reading my GR friend’s reviews of the series I started collecting the books quite some time ago, but has taken me till now to finally plunge in.
Maryann Jordan’s Baytown Boys series is a 17-book romantic suspense saga that masterfully weaves together themes of camaraderie, love, healing, and personal redemption. Set in the fictional coastal town of Baytown, an idyllic seaside town, this series follows a close-knit group of former military friends who return home from service overseas and strive to create a supportive environment for themselves and less fortunate veterans. Ms. Jordan’s storytelling fuses small-town charm with emotional depth, making the setting a vivid and integral component of her storyline/s.
Each book centers around a different MC, exploring their unique struggles and romantic journeys. The veterans’ experiences and wartime scars are written with sensitivity and authenticity, adding an extra element of emotional resonance to the relationships and characters personal growth.
Ms. Jordan cleverly balances romance with mystery and suspense. From murder investigations to drug rings, each plot includes high-stakes elements that kept me engaged, all while the romantic tension sizzled. But, beyond the romance/s, intrigue, and action - the stories also show the healing power of friendship, love, and a supportive community - which created a warm and reassuring backdrop for the more intense elements.
This series is ideal for readers of contemporary romantic suspense with a military element and small-town setting.
Happy Reading…

After leaving the Navy and his two new friends behind, Joseph traveled the country. He’s a wanderer, never staying in one place too long. Never putting down roots, forming lasting relationships, or having a place to call home. He’s quiet, highly intelligent, and a hard worker. A jack of all trades, master of none. Now, he finds himself on the other end of the bridge that will take him into Baytown and back to his friends...

Samantha, aka Sam, is the area veterinarian. She’s a hard worker, is sentimental, but tough as nails. She’s mighty, but petite. When called out to assist her friends on a possible poisoning, she hops in her old trusty truck and heads out—barely making it there. When her truck won’t start, a tow truck is called in to assist. Joseph, the new tow truck driver, arrives only to stick his foot in his mouth when assuming Sam is a teen and not the vet. They get off to a rocky start—especially when he insults her again at the American Legion meeting. But there’s something about her “fire” that draws Joseph in. He finds the longer he’s around her, the less he wants to move on. He actually wants to settle in Baytown! First, he has to get her on board with his plan. There’s also a little rescue in the mix—just to keep things interesting.

I truly enjoyed learning about wolf-hybrids and the banning of such animals, activity. I love that there’s always a topic to be learned when reading a Maryann Jordan novel. This is an insta-love story with pets! I loved that Joseph was able to realize he didn’t want to live the overindulgent life as his parents. I’m glad he wanted to do something worthwhile and beneficial to society. Joseph’s respectful actions with elderly vets was extremely touching. I liked how Sam was able to “calm the giant” and bring him out of his shell. The twist at the end was surprising! I read a gifted copy and all opinions stated are my own.

This is book 14 in the Baytown Boys series and it can absolutely be read as a stand alone although I recommend reading the previous books as see those characters in this one, along with events that also happen in those stories. With that being said, we get Joseph and Sam's story in this one! Joseph has wandered since getting out of the military. He is used to being the loner with no ties, and he really doesn't have anyone or anything waiting for me. When he makes the choice to come to Baytown and reconnect with his military friends, he doesn't anything other than their friendship. And certainly not love. And definitely not for the independent veterinarian Samantha. But the more time he spends with her, the more he wants to. And when she finds herself in danger-he will do everything he can to keep her safe.

I absolutely loved this one!! I was curious about Joseph from the previous books, especially about his background. And his story in no way disappoints! He is definitely a quiet one, but I love that when he finds the person he can connect to-he isn't afraid to have conversations. This man has a heart of gold and isn't afraid to admit to his own faults, all while still being the stand up human being he really is. Sam was great from the start-but then I love anyone who loves animals as much as she does! She has this pure heart but she can also be snarky, and I loved that! She isn't afraid to stand up for herself and for people (or animals) that can stand up for themselves. These two are absolutely perfect for each other, even if they themselves aren't perfect. They compliment in ways that I wasn't expecting, but it drew me in and left me never wanting it to end! And I have to say, as a HUGE LOTR fan-I absolutely loved those tidbits!! Completely awesome! Loved every minute of this one!

To Love Someone by MaryAnn Jordan. I did receive this. ARC for my honest review.

A romantic suspense about a veterinarian named Samantha or "Sam" and a Navy vet named Joseph. Joseph has always been on the move and on a whim decided to visit friends in Baytown. He didn't leave a great first or second impression with Sam but they were finally able to look past that and have their relationship grow. Their relationship build up and character build was wonderfully done. I swooned over Joseph and adored his character. Once Joseph and Sam started their relationship, it did seem to go at warp speed which was a switch from the organic way it built but it wasn't enough to turn me away from the story. The book was 80% romance with the suspense mainly done towards the end of the book, though you could tell there was something that was going to happen; you just had to be patient until towards the end to get into any of the action. The book was told from both sides, which I enjoy. If you haven't read any of the other Baytown books, that's ok. This book can be read on its own. Though there are a lot of characters that come into play in this book so it does help and it can be a little confusing as to who is who but Ms Jordan does make sure to let us know who the person is. But it can be challenging to keep all the names straight. Though, there was something that happened during the course of the book that I thought would be more in the story but we never did get a conclusion to it; we never found out the results of Bosco's lab results. Just kind of odd that there were a couple scenes about it but never an outcome. Not a huge issues, but it is a question that I wished was answered. Otherwise another great story from Ms Jordan.

I “discovered” and fell in love with this author’s writing back in 2016 with her book , Class of Love. Ever since , this fan awaits anxiously to the next book this talented author writes because I know I will love it. This one was no exception.
For those of you not familiar with the Baytown Boys, it revolves around former military men and women who were willing to sacrifice their lives to keep us safe, and have either returned home or whose friends come to visit and end up staying .
Joseph Hernandez is one of those men . A loner and a rolling stone, he decides to visit his friends Zac and Jason who have made their homes in Baytown. The short visit extends as he comes to enjoy not only the town, but also the veterinarian in town, Sam/Samantha. A woman he unintentionally insults not once , when he couldn’t believe she was the vet, but twice when he informs her that the meeting of the American Legion is not for vets but for veterans. Little does he realize she is one as well.
As the relationship develops, there is also some danger in the horizon. Will Joseph be able to keep her safe? If he does, will he continue to be a rolling stone or will Sam be the anchor he never knew he wanted and needed?
As engaging and touching as the plot was, the story is more than that. It’s a story about how our past and our parents affect us as adults. It’s a story about friendships, about finding a family that is not made up by blood, and finally It’s a story about finding that special person that makes one realize that love is not only worth taking a chance , it’s also home.
I was entrusted a copy of this book . The opinions expressed are solely my own.

I love every book Maryann Jordan has written, so I fully expected to be a fan of this one as well, although how much this one drew me in is unparalleled. At the risk of sounding dramatic, this book spoke to me in so many ways. When Joseph quoted the poem by Robert Service, my heart turned over. Just like the man, it was deep, tragic, yet quietly honorable.

"And they roam the world at will. They range the field, and they rove the flood, And they climb the mountain's crest; theirs is the curse of the gypsy blood, and they don't know how to rest."

My heart broke for Joseph because as he quotes this poem to Sam, I can tell he believes he is beyond repair. I wondered if his life before the military made it to where he couldn't trust someone enough to love them, but all it took was Sam and her capacity to accept him like he was and love him. I think her reply to his poem encompasses just how much she cares.

"Not all those who wander are lost."

With those words, I felt Samantha let Joseph know she understood him, and more importantly, he wasn't broken. She let him know his heart was safe with her, which is what Joseph had been searching for through all his time as a drifter.

I could go on and on, but I don't want to give a lot away. To Love Someone is a 5+ star read, and I recommend everyone to one-click this book and read it. You'll want to go back and read the entire series. Congratulations, Ms. Jordan, on a beautifully written book. I look forward to more Baytown books in the future.

Since he left the military, Joseph has wandered the US. Working different jobs in different areas trying to find a place that feels like home. Although he's not sure what the definition of home might be. After a stint at the Norfolk VA hospital, he's having a meal at a restaurant with a gorgeous view of the sunset over the bay. The Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel grabs his attention and he recalls the emails he's gotten from Zac and Jason. Perhaps it's time for a visit.

Samantha aka Sam, gets a shock at the beginning of this book as the owner of the Veterinary Clinic leaves giving her the business no strings attached. However that makes her the only small animal vet in the area. She's just grateful for the staff she has and the imminent arrival of an intern.

When Sam's truck breaks down while examining and collecting her friend Lizzie's dead goats, it's Joseph who's driving the tow truck for Jason. It's also the first time of many Joseph will put his foot in his mouth.

There is definitely attraction on both sides but Joseph just can't seem to help messing it up. Of course fate and her old truck keeps throwing them together as well.

There's also the curiosity of missing vaccines from the clinic, and possible wolf or wolf dog sightings.

Lots of suspense and intrigue as Joseph realizes he just might have found 'home'. He just needs to convince Sam he's worth the chance.

'Not all those who wander are lost'

Ahh! I love the mental running commentary we get throughout this book...it begins with Sam's thoughts 'A great ass doesn't make up for an aloof, brooding personality.....although that ass? Almost!' Seeing the usually unflappable Sam being distracted by increasingly dirty thoughts is lovely - she can be so serious and has a tendency to get lost in her work, the distracted, ruffled Sam is a welcome change and hilarious!
Joseph is a bit of enigma, he has been running for so long it has become habit. But even his walls are not tall enough to keep the Baytown Boys and their better halves out! Baytown along with Sam, Frodo, Pippin and Merry (yes really!!!) Worm their way into his heart and make him realise he has more to stay for than to run from.
I love every visit to Baytown and this one was no different, some of the scenes here were also featured in other books and it is great to see them from another perspective, aswell as seeing the story's and lives of all the Baytown residents weaving together.
Sam and Joseph are awesome together - a fantastic book!

Another beautiful story!

Joseph and Sam's story was absolutely amazing! This one really was my favorite, I really loved them together. Definitely had a shaky start but oh man they were amazing! I loved the idea of how Joseph just just wondered until he felt at home. I really love how Maryann's books the deeper you get into it the characters get more and more fascinating. I also enjoy whatever asde story is going on I always learn about some subject I've never thought much about, this time dog breeding. I always love catching up with the rest of Baytown and the American Legion. Bringing attention to veterans and issues regarding to veterans is important to me and I enjoy that aspect of all of this series.
I thought the whole book was great! Joseph and Sam were good together and when they allowed themselves to fall it was H. O. T! Get ready fpr a great atory, a beautiful love story amd the normal fan yourself hotness you've come to expect. Superb writing keeps the pages turning, my only disappointment was when I finished the book and have to wait for the next in the series! Enjoy!

Joseph has been a rolling stone since he joined the military, now that he is out he has drifted from place to place, job to job, never settling. He takes up the offer of visiting his friends in Baytown, and while there wondering when that itch to pack up and move will come. Samantha is the town veterinarian and her first meet with the aloof Joseph isn’t a great first meet. The next one doesn’t go so well either, but it doesn’t stop her attraction to the mysterious, quiet, handsome bike riding man. Their attraction boils over and they connect but can Samantha let him in completely, especially since he is a rolling stone and will Joseph finally put down roots and find his home in Samantha.
Another great read with steam, a bit of suspense and great characters that I can’t get enough of. I LOVE the no drama, no o/w, the honesty, trust and the build up to their HEA. I LOVED Joseph, his intensity and when he was in, he was all in. The mystery has a bit of a twist and I loved the animals with Frodo and the kittens.

Maryann Jordan gives us the newest installment of the Baytown Boys. We have Joseph and Samantha and their first few meetings you are left for something to be desired. Joseph seems to continually put his foot in his mouth whenever Sam is concerned and he isn't quite sure why. He is a man that is unsettled and has been roaming since he got out of the series, but comes to Baytown because his friends Zac and Jason (who we meet in previous books) are settled there. For the first time he is considering staying, he ins't feeling the instinct to leave. Sam has been pushing forward in her Vet practice, and dealing with the changes around her. Jordan give us her usual formula where the couple comes together and then there are outside forces that create a tension in the characters. I enjoyed this one, but I didn't feel as much of a connection as I have to previous characters in this book. I love the emphasis that Jordan continually gives us on the life of veterans in their civilian lives and the journeys that they take. Another good addition to the Baytown Boys.

Baytown and the surrounding area is full of fascinating characters with colourful lives and Joseph and Samantha fit right in. Joseph has been drawn there almost accidentally after two friends from his time in the navy settled and invited him to visit. Sam is a small animal vet who settled there after serving in the army. Each are attracted to the other but Joseph finds he suffers from foot in mouth syndrome around Sam and she feels she is too overwhelmed with work.
Theirs is a slow burning love story that makes it all the more poignant especially as they soon find themselves embroiled in vaccine thefts, dog fighting rings and the illegal breeding of wolf- dog hybrids.
As usual Maryann builds the romance and suspense beautifully. I highly recommend this book and received this copy as an ARC in return for an honest review.

To Love Someone is the latest in Maryann Jordan’s Baytown Boys series and it did not disappoint! This is the story of Joseph Hernandez, Jason and Zac’s Navy friend, and Samantha Collins the local vet. I absolutely loved these two, especially when Joseph inserts his foot and it gets him in trouble and their interactions over Samantha’s truck. Joseph has finally landed in Baytown and ends up having several run ins with Samantha. He’s usually saying the wrong thing and she’s trying to figure him out, especially when he rarely says anything and when he does, it usually gets her stirred up. Eventually the two click and I loved seeing their relationship develop and learning about Joseph’s past. As with all Baytown books, the two are pulled into a mystery. Their story will grab you from the start and leave you wanting more! I received an author’s copy and I have left an honest review.

Back to Baytown we go for Joseph and Samantha's story. This is another story to fall in love with. Joseph is a quiet man who leads a simple life even though he doesn't have to. He is a wanderer who hasn't yet found what he is looking for so when he arrived in Baytown he wasn't planning to stay forever. Plans change when he meets Sam, the local veterinarian with a lot of spunk and a strong independent streak or and a hound dog named Frodo! If you ask me, Frodo steals the show.

Ms. Jordan transports you through the pages to Baytown and the surrounding towns and tells a story of finding love that you won't want to put down. The characters are wonderful and well, real. I find myself wishing I had a love story like her characters do. Baytown is the place to be and I hope the sun never sets on the Baytown Boys.

What a beautiful read. Well written, as always and hooks you from the first word. Joseph is such a beautiful character. Although I didn’t know whether to laugh or cry as he put his foot in his mouth time and again.
He’s a man, who after years of being made to feel like a disappointment just wants someone to see inside to the gentle, loving man who just wants to find somewhere and someone to belong to. Samantha is a hard working, open and easy going character. Having succeeded in her professional life she just wants what we all aspire to in our personal lives. A life full of happiness and children - a happy ever after with someone who truly loves her. Add in a little suspense and danger and you’re so in love you don’t ever want to leave.
Fantastic love story. Beautifully written and would highly recommend. Thankyou for another glance back into Baytown life again

I love visiting Maryann Jordan's Baytown and the myriad of fascinating characters she's conjured up who have become like friends with each successive addition to the series. Joseph Hernandez and Samantha Collins are just so darn likeable. They're not flashy or overly dramatic but opposite in many ways. But you know the old saying...opposites attract. She's put down roots, successful and dedicated to the animals she treats. He's a vagabond, a jack of all trades and has yet to find a place to call home. While intensely and secretly attracted in each other, they get off to a slow start but things more than heat up as they finally get to know one another. Suddenly he finds that he no longer has one foot out the door and Baytown along with Samantha have settled into his soul. It will take some powerful persuasion to prove to her that he can be trusted with her heart.

Joseph spent his life after the Navy drifting here and there across the country, never staying in one place too long, never believing he would find a home. Drawn to the Eastern Shore by emails from his friends, Baytown starts to work its magic on Joseph. Could this be the home he longed for? Could the local veterinarian Samantha be the one to make him stay? Maybe if he could stop opening mouth and inserting foot every time he runs into her. Although they finally give in to their mutual attraction, Joseph makes it clear that he isn’t sticking around long term which makes Samantha pull back fearing a broken heart. Will Joseph find the home and purpose he longs for or will he lose everything?

Maryann Jordan makes the Baytown series blend together seamlessly, book by book and character by character. I especially loved Frodo, Pip and Merry in this book!

I do not know about others but we were taught that the silent types sometimes are the ones to watch. In here we see one very strong silent type who decides to see his way to Baytown. Joseph finds things to do soon enough but then comes across one Sam the vet who he seems to rub the wrong way with words right from the start. Even so though you can feel the chemistry of the two. As time goes on though they become something else with him realizing he might have found the place to be. What just might be a reason to call home is the love that is there. Anyways there is a under story in this involving illegal wolfs and the like. Also he finds his place in buying the shelter. The two together make a great sleuthing team. This will have you turning those pages with you stuck like glue to see where they go and who are the bad guys.

What a wonderful story. Two unforgettable people, a fantastic journey. Joseph considers himself a drifter, Sam is a very dedicated veterinarian. Joseph comes to Baytown to visit friends and is persuaded to stay a while. Sam is an overworked vet without a lot of time for romance.

We are treated to the ups and downs of their relationship and how they work through them. The story has all the signature of Ms. Jordans wonderful style we love. I love the Baytown stories with their home town vib, wonderfully written, keeps you glued to the pages with all the twists and turns you expect from Ms. Jordan’s adventures. I enjoy catching up with the other people we’ve meet in the Baytown series. I look forward to the next adventure. Well worth your time.

Finding love home

This is the first book of this series that I have read and I love how Maryann written how a two people who are a little different by one shy and wandering around looking for something... and the other, being thrown into a business that she didn't expect to run add in a little mystery to wild dogs/wolves/ hybrids, you will be hooked. Maryann has you falling for the characters and even loving the other characters, seeing how they interact and how they seem a real town and people that have you wanting to go and visit the fictional town of Baytown.
As in all Maryland's books you're going to love them and then have like me, go and get the other books not just in the series but her other wonderful books❤

Joseph & Sam

I adore Maryann Jordan, and I love her Baytown Boys series! And with every series, especially one that has many books as this one, you wonder if you will start getting disappointed. Well, let me tell you, there is NO disappointment here, To Love Someone is AWESOME! Joseph has gotten out of the Navy and is a bit of a wanderer, never staying in one place, but heads to Baytown to visit a couple of buddies he served with who live there and keep inviting him. Samantha, or Sam, is the veterinarian there, and also an Army vet, and someone who makes Joseph start feeling like maybe he’s found a home. And he is all in to protect her when some hinky stuff starts happening. I loved this book, it was wonderful!!

Written by an educator

This is overall a good read in the Baytown Boys series, but there are a few issues. First, I find it a little disingenuous that someone who has never been around or expressed interest in animals would suddenly decide to run an animal shelter. Support, yes, take over, no. Second, while I appreciate the research that goes into bringing up wolf and wolf hybrid breeding, the insertion of detailed information into casual conversations definitely feels an educational treatise. And lastly, with such a lengthy series, it feels cumbersome to include every previous main character by name in every book. I have a real fondness for this series and the characters but the more recent books seem clunky.

Jason and Samantha

Another great one in this series! Jason is a rolling stone that rumbled into Baytown to reconnect with Zac and Jason. He ends up staying in Jason’s empty apartment and driving his tow truck and becoming the tattoo artist in the shop. Sam is a Army vet and the only veterinarian in the area. She has an old clunker truck and Jason comes to tow her…more than once. The two are attracted to each other but he ends up pissing her off every time they meet. Can these two learn to communicate and will he finally put down roots? This book has a bloodhound named Frodo, two cut kittens, wolves being bread with dogs, someone stealing vaccines from the vet, an animal shelter, friends, steam and love.

This was definitely another heartwarming story in the Baytown Boys series. Joseph was such an honorable hero and Samantha was a perfect match for him. I loved the way their respect for each other’s circumstances allowed their relationship to grow. There was a good mystery weaved into the story and definitely a good romance. I really enjoy how the series includes other characters from previous books, however each book can still be read as a standalone as well. Thank you Ms Jordan for giving me the opportunity to be one of the first to read this wonderful story. I have no hesitation in recommending it whatsoever.
