too much telling of unnecessary shit + not enough showing of crucial relationship development = one bored gal.

this felt like a Mariana Zapata book... but boring. i originally had a lot to say about this bcos while the beginning was boring and mediocre, i could see the potential this had to be amazing... but it was still pretty mediocre. there was nothing inherently bad about this... it’s just pretty forgettable.

if you’re gonna go down the route of an emotional slowburn, gotta deliver

new goal in life: get myself a DILF!!

"And trust me Stevie. If you give me a chance, I'll make sure your body, your mind, and everything in between is handled right."

Tropes: slowburn, age gap, single dad trope, teacher x student's parent, neighbors to lovers.

Stevie Foster is navigating divorce, and only now is she leaving that failed relationship in the past and finding her footing again. The last thing she needs is to develop a crush on her new neighbor, who also happens to be the father of
I've been reading some heavy books during my summer holiday. I just craved emotional stories with real feelings and real people.

And this book, my very first B. Celeste and certainly not my last, is the perfect example.

32 year old Stevie navigates the world of divorce after being married for 9 years to her high school sweetheart.
For the first time in her life, she is on a journey of self discovery and healing after coming out of a relationship that defined half her life. She slowly but surely lea

Make You Miss Me is a slow burn forbidden romance that takes you on a woman's journey of self discovery, love, independence and finding happiness in her own way again.

It's been a little over two years since Stevie was served with divorce papers and she's still trying to pick up the pieces and get her life in order. Buying a house and getting back to a job that she loves was her first step in reclaiming her independence and she's more than content with the life that she's building. When a ne

3.5 stars! I liked this one it was okay but I felt it had too much info about other people in the book instead of the main couple like the neighbor, friends, parents that was very unnecessary and just bored me. The heroine also mentioned her ex husband way too much it was annoying, I really wish this had more about the main couple and the hero’s son I loved him he was the best part of the story.

It was so perfect slow burn. I loved Stevie Foster character. She got divorced and start a new life and moving on. It is very difficult for her because she got married to her high school sweetheart and love him unconditionally. Sh

I Couldn’t put it down!

How great is it to find a new to me author and have my first experience with her work involve a story that I didn't want to end. I absolutely loved Stevie and Fletcher's story!

Stevie is recently divorced and after being with her husband for so long she finds herself a little off kilter so starting a new life without him is a little daunting but it's something she needs to do. She has moved to a new town, purchases a home and is starting to teach at the elementary school. T

I enjoyed watching the growth of the h as she was rediscovering herself after being married to her ex since she was 19 and with him for a few years more than that. She is now 32 and 3 years have passed since being served divorce papers and being told that he’d fallen out of love with her years prior.

The h has moved in across the street from her ex’s ex CO. He is 10 years her senior and is divorced with a son who ends up in the h’s class.

Their relationship is a slow burn one but it

Oh my military wife heart! MAKE YOU MISS ME is a powerful and passionate friends-to-lovers romance that brings the feels. The perfect blend of romantic and real that touches everywhere while sweeping you away.

Told through a strong and stunning teacher who is rebuilding her life, and featuring an all alpha, former soldier hero, Make You Miss Me delves into the value of life and love, and wh

I’m so torn about how to review this one - I’ve read books by B Celeste before and they’ve been slightly hit or miss for me. I was really excited by the premise of the story and high hopes for it, but in some places it fell a little flat.
There was a slight age-gap between the main characters, but because Stevie was in her 30’s it didn’t feel all that taboo (the age difference was 10 years)
I absolutely loved Fletcher and swooned hard over him. He was grumpy, protective, respectful and sinfully

I went back and forth on how to rate this one; 3 or 4 stars, and settled on 3.5 stars. It just seemed too short I guess is why I was having a hard time. I really wasn’t the biggest fan of either main character either. But, I did like their love story. If that makes any sense. Stevie comes across as somewhat of a goodie goodie, but drinks and swears. And, Fletcher who was a caring and patient dad to his autistic son, was attracted to Stevie way too quickly I thought. He was the qui

Make You Miss Me is an intriguing story with characters that have flaws yet feel perfect together.

B. Celeste never fails in writing a story that makes you feel for the characters and the emotions they go through. I absolutely loved the way Stevie’s character was written. She’s so strong even in the moments that make her feel weak but she’s way more than that. She’s everything I love in a character. The moments she had with Fletcher were my absolute favorite fo

This was a very beautiful story full of self-discovery and second chances...
It is about to move on from things that you used to know and things that were pulling you under without even realizing it...
It was about grab life from its horns and make her your bitch...

I loved this book! I completely and utterly with my whole heart loved this book. I wish I had the right words, the perfect words, but mine would pale in comparison to the words that make up this exceptional book. I had no idea of the magnitude this story would have on me, it impacted me in way I never thought possible. I honestly can’t explain it, but it’s a feeling I only get when reading a poem that really speaks to me and pierces my soul and no matter how much time passes when I read it again ...more

4.5 slowburn excellency ⭐️‘s

This book, man this book. Where do I even start? For one all the tropes; slowburn, teacher x parent, single dad, neighbours to lovers, age gap, ex military man? Yes yes yes! This ticked all the boxes for me.

I’ve read a few B. Celeste books now and she never fails to tell beautiful stories and tug at the heartstrings. I was completely hooked from start to finish with this book, because for one... who doesn’t love an absolute DILF. Because Fletcher Miller was making me
****A s-l-o-w burn romance, a VERY honest review and, meh, a few SPOILERS.
OMG! I wanted to smack that Stevie sooooo many times. Grrrrr. And all that crying and feeling sorry for herself throughout so much of this story.....UGH! I get that she's divorced (and SERIOUSLY needs a good therapist) but it's been 2 years already and she's still so effing whiney about "Hunter"/the ex getting his way during their marriage and all she gave up. I wanted to scream it takes two sister! If you gave over all c

I’ve never read anything from this author before and now I’m raging with myself as this book was such a treat.

I especially loved the fact that the main characters are honest and flawed. They portray real sentiments, mistakes and concerns.
Stevie is divorced from her high school sweetheart and trying to find her way back to herself. She has bought a house and found a job she loves. Her return to her own personality is slow yet steady as she learns to love herself again.

But seriously there was something about this story that it just felt so real and relatable for so many people. Like Stevie is more of an introvert but can be social and she is really good with people. She might not open up with her own struggles but she’s always trying to make others feel better and happy about themselves. Fletcher is so down to earth and his words are everything a woman wants to hear. He’s

It’s been a while since I read a second chance romance so I’m so glad I took a chance on this as I absolutely loved it.

Stevie is a lovely likeable character so I was rooting for her from the start. Wanting a fresh start after her divorce Stevie moves to a new town and a new job. Fletcher is the ideal book boyfriend. He is everything that Stevie needs and more.

Fantastic storyline with very likeable characters. I love how this pulled me through so many emotions. The feels, oh the feels.. I adore

I am just absolutely head over heels in love with this authors work. I tend to crave the darker side of romance. But there are certain authors that just satisfy my needs in the general contemporary romance way and B Celeste is one of those authors. The way Fletcher and Stevie connected had me weak in the knees and had my heart aching. The growth from beginning to end just UGHHH I LOVED IT ALL. And speaking of growth, I have noticed a difference in the growth of this authors writing style and I L ...more

Make You Miss Me is a wonderful second chance at love story with characters that learn that there is life after. Life after divorce. Life after the military. I could not put this book down - I was obsessed with the next chapter, the next step in Stevie's journey.

Stevie's growth through the story was good to see because she did slightly annoy me in the beginning but after reflection she is a character I think many can relate to. I know I can. Finding oneself again after a long relationship ending
