I have just started reading the book. Beauty and wholeness seem to flow throughout the writing. With its reassuring tone, I immediately felt invited to engage with the proposed 7 -minute writing practice. In fact, I was hooked by the first writing prompt on page 23. It’s like the author was saying early on in the book: “Don’t take my word for it, try it and see for yourself.” I did, and like I said, I am hooked, and so looking forward to what liberation and revelation the other prompts will brin

With great happiness I recommend this book to anyone who longs to write unencumbered by an imposing inner critic, or is in search of a way to bring their authentic voice into their writing and their life. For these two reasons, among many others, you will find the freedom you have always wanted by following the wisdom and guidance offered in this book.

My writing life has been enriched and changed by many books about writing. Now I come across 7 Minutes to Freedom... While I haven't yet had a chance to free write to Natalya Androsova's entire book of writing prompts (there is a wide array here)--I've done some of them. And, I've been able to read the rest.

Being still a beginner to meditation, I am very thankful to find good books that might help me to go deeper and see more. This book clearly is one of those. I have been pulled in by its optimistic cover showing a perfect image of freedom. When I started to read it, I found my expectations at once perfectly fulfilled. From the first page on, the book fascinated me by the joyful clarity of the author’s language and by the enormous variety of encouraging exercises. I enjoy doing them and love writi

Reading this book is like being wrapped in a warm blanket. You don't have to be a writer, or even an aspiring writer, to take something away from these pages. Its lessons are deeply meaningful and inspiring, and so personal to the author that it's easy to form an instant connection with her words. Each writing prompt not only allows you to contemplate who you are as a human being but gives you the time and permission to do the soul searching you've been longing to do your whole life—even for jus

I got the suggestion to read this book from a teacher at my school, after an unexpected break-up with my long-term boyfriend. I had the feeling of falling into a deep, dark hole and drifting away from everything good in life. I wasn't able to think clearly about what happened, my and his decisions and school - not helpful in graduation year. Honestly I wasn't sure in the beginning, if a book can make it less worse or help, but I tried it. I had no expectations , hopes or wishes, when I started r

"7 Minutes to Freedom" is a guide to using writing as an aid in introspection and personal understanding. But the general ideas and encouragements here could easily apply to non-writers as well. For writers, thoughtful and succinct prompts aim to help them overcome the intimidation of a blank page and then navigate the universal roadblocks and hesitations everyone encounters when trying to express themselves.

I have been lucky enough to write with Natalya in person, with other writer friends, in a little cafe down by the lake in Toronto. We order coffee and pastries and get set up at our customary table (at the back, surrounded by the work of local artists). And as we finish hugging and catching up, a peaceful inspiration settles over us, and we turn to our pages.

This is a timeless book that gently encourages you to be simply honest with yourself. And it gives you the tool to do just that - by focusing on your own thoughts for 7 minutes a day (not necessarily every day) and pouring them out in freewriting. Why be honest with oneself? Many reasons but primarily because humans are so complex and ever-changing - to sort out who you really are at this moment, what you really want, and what is it inside you that does not allow you to see what you want and nee

I think anybody, aspiring author or not, should read this book. The author enables the reader to examine themselves through writing.
I have to say, it's an emotional read, once you start the freewriting exercises within the book. The exercise that hit me the most was called Talking With A Mirror. For the simple fact that this chapter made the reader see themselves from the mirror's point of view. The reader had to write down what they truly thought of the reflection they saw. This is a book for those who want to move deeper into not only their relationship with writing but also their relationship with themselves, others, and life itself. From the first page Natalya inspires us to explore these relationships not by dictating a rigid routine or lists of well-meaning tips but through a series of gentle writing invitations that are as clearly informed by an expertise in teaching writing as they are grounded in a deeply rooted compassion. As someone who writes a great dea

Natalya uses the wisdom that she has acquired from her own life challenges to present the reader with a beautiful and comprehensive book of topics and prompts to help us explore our own lives and more importantly to open our hearts fearlessly through the medium of writing. Natalya's love for writing was felt as I embraced this exercise feeling inspired and supported. As parts of me were challenged to open up, I felt motivated to keep going as this is a fascinating inner journey.

This book keeps on giving. Natalya’s love of writing is inspirational. I have been interested in meditation for a long time but have to admit that as a non-writer I had never considered writing as a form of meditation. I started by choosing a prompt that “spoke” to me (Talking with a Mirror), turned the timer on and wrote for more than 7 minutes. I just let it flow and was amazed at the words that appeared on the page… where did they all come from? I found it so liberating that I had given mysel

Unexpected and provoking are two words I would use to describe this book. I did not expect to be challenged to critically reflect and engage with myself as a part of a new writing practice. This book encourages me to engage in a personal journey -that was truly unexpected. Each chapter starts with a quote that perfectly sets the stage. The encouraging hook at the beginning of each chapter provides the right amount of coaching and guidance to prepare you for the writing challenge to come. I did n

This book is not a weekend read! It’s an opportunity to sit down with yourself and do a little (or a lot) of self discovery through thought provoking prompts to journal. It has been enlightening to write freely from prompts given. The questions are well thought out and have a little written with them so that you can understand the angle or intuition of the author in giving the prompts. I like the flow and order of the suggested writing and anyone who is interested in journaling, writing and self

What a deliciously sweet addition to any toolkit of self understanding, people understanding, self actualization, and sitting still - for just a little bit. Androsova writes easily, feels like a buddy, keeps it short and offers prompts and an invitation to take a minute (well, 7) to look inwards.
For anyone who struggles with the discipline to sit still and meditate, or put their cell phone down, this is a gentle way to grow and explore, before the everyday creeps in and takes over again.

These soul-prompts get us reflecting in ways that surprise, unearth, uplift, and nourish. I use Dr. Androsova's prompts with my students, offer them to my clients, weave them into my practice, share them with my beloveds, and turn to them myself for guidance, inspiration, and wonder. Indeed, you will write, you will go deep, and you will soar!

As writers, we're a very self-deprecating bunch. 7 Minutes to Freedom provides tons of writing meditations ("prompts" would not do them justice) for you to write in a reflective, therapeutic, or creative way. What I like about this book is that there is no judgement; no one is going to critique your writing, not the author, not yourself. This book will help you to just let your writing BE. And you might discover something great about yourself along the way. Highly recommend!

I find myself eagerly anticipating the next of my ongoing engagements with 7 Minutes to Freedom. Those writing sessions stand out with vivid clarity amidst the business of the rest of my day, and I'm often astonished by what I accomplish. Dr. Androsova's book is indeed a gift of freedom. It offers freedom to write without judgement, freedom of self-discovery, and freedom to allow one's authentic voice to emerge and shine. What joy!

As I pondered the whole book, I was particularly taken with the "Repacking your Suitcase" and this led to writing and reflecting. This is truly a book, while for anyone wanting to think about life, is perfect for those times when you want to reflect-and not necessarily write anything down. I like to think of it as a reflection of life-not only for someone who wants to write, also for those that simply want to reflect on their own life, in 7 minute increments-though personally, I never set that

Writing can be an uplifting experience, with our efforts rewarded by increased understanding and appreciation of the world. As a writing coach, I’ve worked with many people for whom writing became an ordeal after they lost sight of the positive side of their work. _7_Minutes_to_Freedom_ is filled with excellent writing exercises to help find the passion and insight that make writing a positive experience.

So excited to report that because of you, the book has reached #1 on 4 Goodreads lists. Thank you for your generous reviews and for voting if you did. Blessed by your support!
