This is a mystery, sci-fi, thriller, and romance, all rolled up into one! I couldn't put this one down! The characters have become like family and I am always so excited to see what they get themselves into. How in the world are they going to get out of this one? It keeps getting worse! lol I guess the best authors know how to torture both their readers and their characters then make it all right in the end. I think I'm going to have a heart attack first! lol
Heart-pounding 4th installment of the exciting UF saga
After his capture Daegan gets offered a deal by a new player on the scene. Seeing no other way out of the bind he finds himself in and under a time constraint to help the Beladors that rely on him, he agrees to it. But there is a price to pay, and Daegan is not sure whether he can pay it, but as his life is also in the balance he can’t afford not to take the deal.
As previous books in the series this is very fast-moving and action-driven.
So why then did I only give it 4 stars? Because of the totally irrational and incomprehensible bevavior of one of the female progagonists. She has been told her whole life that there is this guy who is the enemy and who has allegedly committed horrible acts. But then she meets him and he turns out to be rather different from the way he was described. They even go on a quest together, during which she comes to realize that he is actually quite decent and honorable and they even start to develop feelings for each other. At one point she even prides herself that she doesn’t judge people on the basis of other people’s opinion. So they have spent hours, if not days together and have gone thru some harrowing experiences. Then they are separated and the guy doesn’t immediately get back to her like he promised (because he has been unavoidably detained). The female protagonist then gets captured and abducted by a crazy, but powerful sorceress who forces our heroine to work for her. The heroine is quite unwilling, so the sorceress tells her that she saw the guy and he wasn’t at all interested in saving our heroine and had only been interested in her because she could help with his quest. And our heroine without question believes every word the crazy sorceress – who she doesn’t know and who keeps her prisoner against her will – tells her about this guy who was nice to her and whom she has known for days, only pages after she proclaimed that she always judges people on their own merit, at which point I wanted to smack her really bad…
In the fight to keep humans and honorable immortals safe, two individuals must face enemies and a number of difficult challenges. Daegan has to battle foes who see the dragon-shifter as a monster, while Casidhe seeks answers to the many questions that plague their quest to find three grimoires. When Daegan is in danger of not completing his crucial mission and may even lose his life, he is granted a choice which could alter even more of his future and that of others. Making matters worse is the fact several Beladors will not survive much longer if he does not follow through with a request from the VIPER Tribunal. As Daegan and those loyal to him along with Casidhe try to come up with any solutions which would keep the Imortiks and other opponents from wreaking havoc, both will be tested like never before.
The trials that Daegan and Casidhe have to overcome in this story are once again extremely tough, as the consequences could affect not only them but others. As I watched these two work through the options from which they had to choose, I was definitely very glad that I would never have to make such a critical selection and then live with the possibly dire repercussions. There are some new feelings going on between this couple in the latest installment, and I liked how they tried to analyze what was being felt after an unexpected event. A few other beloved characters are also going through some trying times, and one situation has really caught my attention and has me wondering what might occur next.
As in all the books in the Treoir Dragon Chronicles of the Belador World series, adventures can be found all throughout the story, where peril is frequently evident and a toll is taken on the emotional health of the characters involved in whatever is happening at that particular moment. Dianna Love has made this Urban Fantasy series continuously riveting with shocking developments plus suspenseful incidents, and the fourth book in the TREOIR DRAGON CHRONICLES OF THE BELADOR WORLD certainly continues the pattern.
Treoir Dragon Chronicles of the Belador World by Dianna Love is the 4th book in this 9-book arc. I am a big fan of Dianna Love, as I have read all of her series. Refresher: Daegan and his team are attacked by Immortiks, who were supposed dead many years ago. Many of his Belador team are being held prisoners, with the threat of death if Daegan can’t find the missing ‘grimoire’ volumes. The information on the Immortiks and the grimoire is difficult to find, as it dates back thousands of years ago.
As the story continues, Daegan has been captured and unable to use his powers due to being poisoned. He is also concerned about Casidhe, whom he promised to come back to her, not knowing that Queen Maeve has now captured her. In his desperation to get free, he makes a deal with an entity, who needs his help to find something; and slowly Daegan begins to heal. Tristan is now free, and he and Daegan make plans to try to find Casidhe. Quinn is acting for Daegan at the Tribunal, to try and save the imprisoned Beladors, whose lives are on the line, and Evalle is forced to take over for Quinn. When Daegan makes a quick appearance at the Tribunal, he pushes for Maeve’s appearance and learns exactly where Casidhe is. Will he be able to rescue her? Does she trust him now after Maeve’s misguided influence?
Reese, who is pregnant and trying to hide, is thrown for a loop, when the one person she thought would help her refuses. This brings her back to Atlanta, and the danger of the demons who desperately want her. It was great to have glimpses of many of our favorites again, such as Evalle, Tristan, Adrianna, Quinn, Reese, Tzader, Brina, just to name a few.
What follows is a non-stop action filled, pulse pounding story, with each chapter wild and exciting. I am not going to tell too much more, since I do not want to give spoilers, as these are short stories and saying too much would be too revealing; not mention each book ends in a cliffhanger. Since this is a 9-book series arc, you truly do need to read these books in cohesion. If you are new and love paranormal, urban fantasy, suspense, romance, great characters, you should be reading Dianna Love.
The Treoir Dragon Chronicle of the Bedalor World Book 4 delivers more challenges, more surprises and more intrigue in a fast paced, exciting read. Daegan can’t seem to catch a break and it causes him to form a questionable alliance. He needs his freedom to achieve his goals. He is doing everything in his power to save his people, humans and other preternaturals, but there are so many obstacles to overcome. In addition, to having Immortak poison in his system that impairs his abilities and full access to his powers, he has limited time to appease the Tribunal who want the infected Beladors terminated, find the Books of the Grimoire to send the Immortaks back to confinement and find Casidhe who has been kidnapped by Queen Maeve, who kept him imprisoned as her throne for over 2000 years. He also knows his feelings for Casidhe skew his perception and he only knows he has a driving need to find and free her. The reader is introduced to even more worlds and new characters and all play a vital role in the story progression. In true, Diana Love fashion there is intrigue and mystery at many levels. Questions remain as to what Reese will do, will she finally trust Quinn to protect her? Will we learn more about Sen and his background. Each book continues to share more, offer more and weaves the story to together seamlessly making the reader crave more and follow the series to it’s final conclusion. It is not too late to get caught up in Belador Chronicles. You will be glad you did.
I love this series, sometimes it seems too short and I want more. Love is doing an excellent job getting all of these out in a timely manner as their linked and we're on book 4 of 9. It's a struggle sometimes to wait, but also there's anxiousness for our Belador and what's happening with everyone.
Deagan is trying to save his Belador, that may just end up dead by the tribunal. He still has the poison in his system and is robbing him of his full powers and his feeling for Casidhe is making things worse. He hasn't sorted them out other than he needs to find her and get her away from Medb. It's frustrating for him that he's coming all this way and he maybe helpless once again as he was when Medb had captured him.
While I love the characters Casidhe bothers me. Her growth isn't as pleasing as I thought it would be, in fact I feel like we fell back a few spaces. Like we were in the previous book or further, which is a bit annoying. But I have faith because Love hasn't disappointed me with her female characters before and I doubt she'll disappoint me now.
We also get to see more of Reese and Quinn and I'm thrilled. I want more of Reese finally trusting Quinn and him being there for her. My heart loves Quinn dearly and I really want him happy.
We get to see so many worlds and characters open up as we continue to explore the Belador world and it's huge. I'm so excited to see more characters and more of what there is that we get to see/play with. I'm thrilled for book 5 that will be coming out soon!
I was provided an ARC via the author in exchange for an honest review.
This is book 4 in the novella series and Daegan and the gang are still fighting frantically against the Imortik invasion. This installment moves several of the storylines ahead and introduces a few new ones. The players are all still searching for the grimoires for different means, but Daegan hasn't given up on his Beladors and he has formed a new bond with Casidhe. As the clock runs out, the Beladors must also continue to fight off demons in Atlanta while also staying hidden to the humans who are anxious to eliminate anything supernatural.
Much like the previous installments, there is alot going on in this book. This leaves you wanting the next book right away because this sets up so many events to come. We learn a bit more about what all the characters are up both on both sides and get a glimpse of where things are heading as the series progresses. I'm really enjoying this monthly release, but if you are more of a novel person, I'd wait for the bigger bind ups or until the series is finished later in 2021.
I'd like to see Cashidhe's character mature a bit as the series progresses. She acts very immaturely in this book. I thought we were past that in the last book, but I'm hoping events in the future books will be more than enough to teach her who she should actually trust going forward. As for the other characters, I'm intrigued by Lanna and I'm excited we are getting to know her more and what is in store for her. I'm really looking forward to seeing where the rest of this adventure takes us.
I voluntarily reviewed a copy of "TREOIR DRAGON CHRONICLES OF THE BELADOR WORLD" This is book 4 in this amazing series full of mystery, intrigue, suspense, angst, twists that have you turning the pages. Daegan is still fighting the venom that's taking his power still looking for the grimoires not giving up on his Beladors he fights to survive an attack by sartyr. Daegan is given a chance to live by a preturnatural being but a very price to pay for someone who's dying Atlanta is overtaken by Demons being created by unknown supernatural with their own agenda for doing so. Three Beladors locked away beneath the Viper Headquarters Daegan & Quinn race to try to save them in time while staying hidden from the humans who want to destroy anything supernatural so much happens. I definitely recommend to get this book so much mystery, excitement, magic, the adventure grabs hold won't let go til the end the characters are growing becoming more engaging so well worth the read Dianna Love never DISAPPOINTS I so can't wait for book #5.
I love traveling to the Belador world Ms. Love has created, it's definitely an original as so far in my reading years I don't recall anything similar. I fell in love with the characters and into the story.
Daegan has already begun losing his magic to an Immortic poison but that doesn't stop him in his quest nor falling in love with Casidhe and the need to protect her and his people but can he do both or must he choose between them.
Casidhe is not sure she knows Daegan as well as she thinks nor herself really as she has begun to fall for Daegan and wonders just what that kiss meant.
That is all I am telling you as I don't want to spoil the story for those of you who follow the story and those intrigued by it. I voluntarily chose to read this advance copy and it would be in my personal library if my budget allowed it. This opinion is totally my own and no compensation has been paid.
As expected, this author delivers another outstanding addition in Treoir Dragon Chronicles of the Belador World. Book 4 is definitely not lacking for anything. There’s romance, intrigue, mythology, gods, goddesses, dragons and magic. I absolutely love this series. I get so involved that when it comes to the last page I’m surprised every time. This world is visual and magical with the real world twisted throughout. I find the characters to be full of depth, heart, courage and yes… character. The adventure is exciting, mysterious and engaging. When reading this book, I completely lost track of time and reality, I was so “in” the book. The villains are villainous and the heroes are heroic. As the mystery evolves, I am definitely waiting with bated breath for the next installation of this series. Highly recommend.
This is another amazing book. Dianna, you have outdone yourself again. I can't wait for the next one to be released.
Daegan was captured after he lost the grimoire box over the sea. He was spit on by Satyrs that caused him to have a very hard "shell" over him. He is then taken to a location where he comes across an unlikely ally, that helps him to remove the "shell".
Casidhe is left alone and wonders what happened to Daegan when she ends up on the cliff top alone after they leave the world where they found the grimoire box and Daegan was chased by Satyrs.
Quinn has to be called in to the tribunal with the deities blaming Daegan for the missing Grimoire in the VIPER vault. Evalle is the temporary North American Maistir of the Beladors while Quinn is dealing with the tribunal.
This is a very good book, yes it leaves you wanting and hoping for the next book to be released.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book and didn’t want to put it down. Since it starts where the last one ended we see Daegan trying to figure out a way to escape his captors and still save Casidhe. As the storyline develops he finds himself with more and more obstacles and things to do in a limited period of time. He is also at the weakest he has ever been with the venom still ravaging his powers. We get to see into a few characters’ storylines in this book and it was great. Though I thought Casidhe was an idiot for believing anything her kidnapper Queen Maeve would say to her. Jeez. How dumb. Besides that I found the book enjoyable and really want the next one! *I received an ARC for an honest review*
I really enjoyed this page turning story that’s filled with unique and fascinating characters. Daegan is captured and in danger, Casidhe is left alone on the mountain, Reese is trying to find a safe place away from Demons sensing her, VIPER dictates Daegan has 12 hours to return the grimoire stolen from VIPER that he didn’t take, and queen Maeve is stirring up trouble! It’s fun to read a captivating story and take my mind off all the crazy going on! Every book is better than the last in this engaging series! This book is action-packed, with danger, demons, Beladors, witches, Imortiks, dragons, mystery, suspense, tribunal, druid, Faetheen, magic, grimoires, gods, goddesses, a druid and so much more! I can’t wait to read book 5!!
This series just gets more engaging with each additional book. The characters and world continue to draw in the reader. I can’t emphasize enough how important it will be for readers to read each book in order to fully enjoy the series. Dianna Love does a stellar job of building on the Belador world and brings new characters and characters from the previous books together very smoothly. The progression of Daegan and Casidhe’s characters and relationship continues to grow and I avidly await the next installment. Reader be warned there are cliffhangers at the end of each book but the books are being released in rapid succession so the wait is not long. I thank the author for the opportunity to receive ARC copies of the books in exchange for an honest review.
Per the usual, Dianna has done it again! Book 4 in the Dragon Chronicles keeps you enthralled. There is a lot going on with Daegan being captured, Tristan getting hurt and Casidhe being kidnapped by Queen Maeve and I have to admit that its was so satisfactory to have Sen out of play for a while. (He's such a villian sometimes!!! ) The best part of the book is although Daegan is the main focus you still know what is happening with the other characters in Belador world. Although this installment in the series isn't as action packed as the last book, it does a good job of building up the story. I can't wait to read what happens next!
Ms. Love takes us back to her Beladors. Daegan just can't seem to catch a break. Everything it seems is going against him. He is attacked by the Satyr's, then captured.. He enters into a deal with Joavan which doesn't quite work out. And gives him more to accomplish. Casidhe finds herself captured by Queen Maeve, now he must save her as well. Reese is on the run to save her unborn child and stay away from Quinn. Kleio is searching for her destiny as well. And the search for the 3 parts of the grimoire continues. So many stories to wrap up in this series. Can't wait for the next book in this awesome series.
The nonstop action continues as Daegan gets picked up by an unidentified paramilitary organization, Reese seeks help with her "baby" problem, Casidhe gets abducted and the time for Brina's delivery grows closer. I've always loved the way Dianna Love's Belador tales combine military tactics with classic magic and mythology and the introduction of Daegon and the other dragon folk in this one adds a whole new level of unexpected. I can't wait until the inevitable reunion of the families ... an event with such explosive potential it should be stamped with the Acme-Warner label. I love the way the suspense is building in this serial and can't wait to find out how it all comes together.
I highly recommend this series to anyone who likes exciting and intriguing stories. This addition to the Chronicles is one filled with action and suspense. There are plots occurring on many fronts as the search for the grimoire goes on by so many who desire it for their own purposes. Dianna Love is able to take you from one story line to the next with smooth precision, allowing the reader to experience the chaos happening in the Belador world without getting lost or confused. Looking forward with great excitement to more in the series to see how Dianna weaves all the story lines together to the conclusion.
What another great addition to this amazing series! Book 4 in the Treoir Dragon Chronicles was such a great read, it took it's main characters down separate paths letting them start to loose the faith and mistrust in each other. There's little bit of everything thrown in this part of the story from kidnap and mayhem to finding out that all is not what it at first appeared to be. I am really enjoying reading these books and so glad that there is not a big wait for the next book of the series to be released. As always when reading books by this author the writing is very good and it's so easy to find yourself lost amongst the pages of her stories.
How are we only 4 books in? So much has happened in such a short amount of time. I feel like I've been through the up and down thrill ride of at least 8 books already. If this were a series written by any other author, I'd wonder when things would start to run out of steam, and start dragging. But since it's written by Dianna Love, I KNOW I am not going to be disappointed. However, surviving all of the intensity and havoc she puts my favorite characters through, might be a different story, but you can bet your bottom dollar that I'm in this series for the long haul. I wouldn't miss one second of Treoir Dragon Chronicles for anything, and you shouldn't either.
Dianna Love has created a world that has so much happening that I literally stayed up till 2 am reading. I couldn’t seem to stop reading. I loved the action and intrigue. Hoo Ha I loved reading how Deagan gets into and out of trouble. Amazing! And Zing another character to add to the mix. Their is so much happening and wonderful stories blooming right and left. I can’t seem to get enough. This series hooks you and keeps on giving. Ms. Love, you have a marvelous gift! Thank you!
The story continues right where the previous book left off. It will keep you glued to the pages and wanting more.
Time is running out as Daegan and Tristan search for the one thing that will save his people and protect humans while the Beladors discover a new supernatural being and battle more demons in Atlanta.
There are new characters and unexpected surprises I didn't see coming. Ms. Love has created an ongoing storyline that gets better with each book.
I received a copy of this book from the author. My review is honest and voluntary.
Dianna keeps us on a fast paced chase through Europe in search of Grimoires that can save the world. Imagine a modern day world with all the tech and cell phones we take for granted matched against dragons and griffins and fae folk. In the middle put one loyal group who are trying to keep the peace between humans and non humans. Sprinkle in a good helping of the good the bad and the evil and you have a great recipe for an entertaining ride. This is book 4 in a 9 book series that lets you get to know your characters deeply. I love it!
I have submitted this review after listening to the audiobook of this title within the box set. (Audible Membership)
Being captured in human form, covered in cuts and bruises, as well as a goup that the satars had spat at him, which was hardening by the minute, makes Dagon appear in real strife. However, with a little help from friends and a bartered assistance, his to-do list does appear to being shortened, but he hasn't really touched base with home as yet, so there now appears a lot more items to be added.
I know I’m invested in the characters when I’m angry on their behalf! Actions speak louder than words. How can Casidhe not believe in Deagon after all he’s done. My only complaint with this series is the length of the books, they are more novellas than stand alone novels. Luckily they are being released in quick succession and I don’t have to wait too long for Book 5. Once again Dianna Love has drawn me in to the Belador world. Thank-you I love it here!
While Daegan struggles against his imprisonment by humans and the satyr venom encasing his body, Casidhe finds herself captured by Queen Maeve. The search for the grimoire intensifies with more and more riding on the outcome of the locations. Time in running out quickly with the threats from Loki, mysterious musings from Brynhild and frantic negotions by Quinn. Just how will the next few hours play out with so much dependent on cooperation? Book 4 in a 9 volume series.
OMG…Book 4 continues our journey…Daegan is in even more hot water! Casidhe finds her world turned upside down and sideways. Reese hoping to find aid where she has in the past and is upset, to put it mildly, to find out she doesn't have it! The developing friendship between Daegan and Tristen is wonderful to see. Parts of the book make me laugh and a lot of it had me cursing at Dianna Love…lol I can’t wait for Book 5 to see what happens next.
Book 4 picks up right where book 3 ended and the story just gets better and better. Along with some new characters that are added, the book also provides additional background and details into some of the characters from the Belador world. There are a lot of twists and turns that keeps the book very interesting and once you begin, you won’t want to put it down until you have finished.
I love the series and can’t wait until the next book is released.
4.5 Stars We are back with book 4 in the Treoir Dragon Chronicles of the Belador and Daegan is still looking for the grimoires. There are so many things going on but it’s not hard to follow the many threads. It sure makes for an anxious read. We have a new character, Joavan, and I haven’t quite figured him out yet. We are left with quite a cliffhanger as Joavan is forcing Daegan to make an impossible choice.
Book 4 is action packed from start to finish. Deagan makes a deal with a new player, but what will it costs him? Queen Maeve tricks Casidhe into disbelieving everything she's learned about Deagan, and Reece finds herself returned to Atlanta by the the one being she thought would help her. The plots thicken with each new novella and draws the reader along with every twist and turn. Eagerly awaiting book 5 to see what new developments befall our heroes!
