Spider-Man swings into action with Gwen Stacy and Miles Morales in this action-packed Little Golden Book based on the new hit pre-school show Marvel's Spider-man And His Amazing Friends!
Miles Morales and Gwen Stacy team up with Peter Parker to fight no-good villains as an amazing group of friends who know how to save the day. Based on the hit pre-school animated series Marvel's Spider-man And His Amazing Friends airing on Disney Junior, this Little Golden Book captures the show's fun, action, and life lessons that are just right for little heroes ages 2 to 5 years old. In The Power of Three, Spider-Man and his fellow heroes learn that teamwork is the best way to bring down the bad guys.
This was cute, especially since Peter isn't usually shown as being the same age as Miles and Gwen. Light with an important lesson about working together.
Marvel Spidey and His Amazing Friends: The Power of Three by Steve Behling is an engaging story for young readers who love Spidey. The story teaches the three main heroes, Spidey, Ghost Spider, and Spin, to work together as a team to stop Rhino when he robs a bank. The book is based on the Disney series episode, so young readers may be familiar with the setting and action. The story is engaging, fun, and accessible to a younger audience.
Similar titles: Even Superheroes Get Scared by Shelly Becker and The Top Secret List to Becoming a Superhero by Adison Books. Becker’s book shows young readers how to overcome fear and tackle a challenge. Book’s story shows young readers that anyone can be a superhero and bravely take on the world.
All three titles can be used to show young readers and students how to tackle a challenge, be brave, and learn from fear. They can be incorporated into a classroom lesson by having students reflect on their own fears and challenges, or by having them draw what a hero looks like in their lives.
Miles, Peter, & Gwen are called to the scene when the Rhino robs a bank vault. But when Miles and Gwen are impatient to get into action, will their lack of planning let Rhino escape?
Cute illustrations. I have no awareness of the cartoon, but the ill. look like they’re based on computer generated graphics. Very bright, and cute character designs.
I thought they did a decent job with the story. While not something I loved as an adult, I think younger kids would find it entertaining. The author did a good job of working the lesson about working together into the story without making it feel overly preachy, or like you’re being lectured, which I really liked. I think it’s a great read for little superhero fans!
This is a Disney Junior tie-in story for "Spidey And His Amazing Friends." It's a cute story about team work, and how to use each person's unique talents to accomplish a common goal.
