The best playdates include sharing! Clever opposites narrate a busy toddler playdate full of playing, taking turns, sharing and more, in this charming companion to Up, Up, Up, Down!
From the moment his friends arrive, this energetic boy and his dad are ready for a day full of adventure and opposites. They giggle through a game of hide, hide, hide--find! Taking turns on the slide means stop, stop, stop--go! And of course there's sharing with mine, mine, mine--yours and then more generous yours, yours, yours--mine! Dad is close by supervising all the fun, until it's time to say bye, bye, bye--come again!
Kimberly Gee's expressive illustrations emphasize the playful fun between a boy, his friends, and his father in this clever concept book about playdate dynamics that are sure to entertain little (and big!) members of the family.
This is a perfect book for toddlers! It's time for a play date! Two friends come over and the fun begins. Some of the opposites represented in the book are conventional - like over and under. But some are more abstract concepts like jump and bump; mine and yours; and sorry and that's OK. I think that is what sets the book apart. Plus the dad as stay at home caregiver is a nice touch. This would be a great book to read out loud for a baby or toddler story time.
I started to not review this book because I didn’t want it counting towards my yearly reading goal on here, but I have quite literally read this book with my daughter at least 4 times a day for the last several months so I talked myself into giving myself credit. Thank you, Dolly Parton Imagination Library, for mailing us a book I probably would have never known about otherwise. 10/10 stars and taking every review that doesn’t give this book a perfect rating personally!
From "Come in, Come in, come in, go out!" to "Sorry, Sorry, Sorry, That's Okay," this book shares familiar phrases for toddlers and emphasizes learning to get along with others. An Imagination Library book for 2 year olds.
