I loved this book at start, but I truly hated this book in the middle, I had my suspicions about the ending, but it went on for a long time, and not going to lie I cried and got pretty mad.... but luckily it still had a HEA, thank goodness. I was a little heartbroken for a bit.
I don't want to give too much away, but if you liked the other books in the series, this one is just as good, just stick with it through the rough sad parts haha.
I'm really hoping Hedori and Race get a follow up book!

I've read all the books in this series...more like devoured them. Hunter has this gift to ride out the tension and build character relationships with ease. Im not just telling about the couples. She patiently grows the friendships between Guardians in this series so you forget they aren't human. In Shattered, the reader is introduced more to Nikkos, the grumpy Guardian who normally lives in Romania. He has also come from the hell that is Tartarus, and he came back with a devastating secret he keeps from all but the Angel Michael. A curse that could kill millions.
You will ache for him right away. Hunter created a fully formed emotional man scarred by his years in Tartarus but fierce in his fighting.
"Nik prowled through the dank underground tunnel, heavy with musty air in the early hours of the morning, passing the area where the demon fight happened two nights ago. Frustration still torqued him, and the malevolent riot within ramped up, tearing at his mind. The latter he’d lived with for millennia and endured, but the former gouged out chunks of his frozen heart."
"His lips pressed together, and that single dimple she rarely saw and adored appeared. He sat on the coffee table, his leathers creaking, knees caging hers. “Then, together, we’ll handle whatever abilities arise, but you need to tell me the moment you sense any changes. As to your soul, yours isn’t dark like those of the demons, agápi. You’re like a blaze of light inside here.” He tapped his chest. “I would know if you weren’t. We are one. We share a soul now.” His gaze swept tenderly over her face. “And if you do become a demoness, it doesn’t matter. Because you are the flame that warmed this cold heart of mine. Nothing will take you away from me.”"
When he collides with Shadow, they both combust with chemistry. Shadow has her own secrets, and Nik finds that he can't stop wanting to save her. There are seemingly a lot of storylines in this book, but Hunter deftly links them all together. The best scenes are when the Guardians work together. They anchor the story and keep you riveted.
"He stepped into a recessed doorway on the side street and dematerialized, Týr at his side as he followed the human. They coasted through the building’s elegant foyer in their invisible state and entered the private elevator with Enzo Argo and his two human bodyguards. They stood there like statues with no idea they weren’t alone. Don’t care for the bastard’s beady eyes. I’d want to kill him just for that, Týr telepathed him. Nik appreciated the try for lightheartedness, but he was wound too tight to snort."
The above is just one example of the easy camaraderie Hunter has created among these very different Guardians. And lets talk about Shadow, the most complex female character I've read from Hunter. She is a powerhouse, badass fighter who discovered she was different a few years ago. She also doesn't remember anything before five years ago. So what happened? Her story needed to breathe like fine wine...no rush necessary in this long book. There are bits and pieces of answers to everything dropped every chapter, going towards a magnificently paced finale. There's a fight that will leave you breathless, and a takedown that will make you smile. If you haven't read this series yet...what are you waiting for? There's nothing like it on the market that I know of. Shattered Dawn definitely lived up to its very high expectations.

“Shattered Dawn” is book five in the Fallen Guardians series and it doesn’t disappoint. I loved being back with the guardians and I do believe Nik has become my favorite, sorry Baez. I fell in love with Nik and Shadow immediately, their story was an intense one and you will feel all the feels while reading it, but in the end it will be worth it. “Shattered Dawn” is well written as are all the characters, you feel like you know them all. I fully recommend this book and the rest of the Fallen Guardian and Warlords of Empryea books.

What a Wild, Hell of a Ride!!
Georgia Lyn Hunter is a powerful writer, just like her Guardian Series! Who doesn't love virile, sublimely gorgeous Guardians, and Nik is made of pure steel. His mate, Shadow is strong and snarky right from the beginning. Nik and Shadow form quite a formidable union the escalates throughout the book. Troubling battle scenes erupt, causing intrigue and suspicion on all sides pushing the plot forward.
There was a point in the story that took my breath away. I couldn't believe it! It was one of the moments while you're reading and shaking your head saying, "No! This can't happen!"
LOL!! I never leave spoilers and highly recommend Shattered Dawn.

Great long read
I love Georgia's books and this one was not a disappointment. The length may be too much for others but I thought it was perfect. Lots of action,love, and surprises. Loved seeing old characters from past books and can't wait for the next one.

I think I'm in love with this Author! 🤫 hubby doesn't need to know🤣 I can say 100% that Miss Georgia lyn is my #1 Author so for this book to be absolutely the best read by far of all in this series! The main characters did this beautiful dance of a pull and tug...it is sexy!! You definitely will not want to put down until its finished! This book and series is a must get and read!! Amazing job once again Miss Georgia lyn hunter🥰👏👏 if I could rate higher I would've!

This was a great read! It pulled me in from beginning to end and I loved getting back to this world and these characters. This is the fifth book in the series and while it follows different main characters it does follow a group of men that work closely together and so you have seen them in the previous books and get to see them in the other ones as well. I love the way that they are connected but they all standalone as well. This story pulls you in and doesn't let you go. The story is weaved around you and once started you don't want to stop until you figure out how everything is going to work out. This is not a short story. It is on the longer side but I really enjoyed that aspect of things because it fit what was going on. It gives the characters time to figure out what is going on and to build a relationship and overcome all of the obstacles in front of them. Things are not easy for them and a lot of things stand in their way. I thoroughly enjoyed this one and I can't wait for more!

This story was amazing. It had me running the gambit of emotions. Nikkos and Shadow are just so heartbreaking in everything they have faced in their past and have to face in the present. Shadow is the epitome of a strong female lead. She is fierce yet caring, she is strong yet also broken, she is loyal, courageous and everything a woman wants to be. Nikkos is broken, he is cocky but he has vulnerability, he is also loyal and underneath his cold exterior is a man craving to be loved. The tug and pull is fantastic. This is by far my favorite in the Guardian's world and one of the few books I have given five stars. I volunteered to read this book.

She lives in the sewers and also fights the demons. Shadow cannot remember her previous life, before she was altered.
When these two cross paths; Nik has his heart awaken. Both characters have a tough history, and have a similar goal. An intricate story of power, curses, magic and the fight between good and evil. The characters are fascinating and the storyline is intense. I adore this entire series.

Another exciting adventure with gods, immortals , demons and angels. This one has our Ice Guardian Nik melted and bewitched by a human. The story is well written and we see the previous characters and their chosen mates living together happily fighting together to rid New York from the demonic forces that secretly inhabit it. Nik’ s chosen is a friend of Kira and she may not be as human as she appears. Lots of action and sexy banter as both fight the attraction they both feel for each other. I really have enjoyed this series and meeting these immortal beings. Thank you. Ms. Hunter for creating this incredible world and sharing with your readers.

It was a long wait for this next book in the series it seemed like. I was checking constantly to see if a new one was out. I loves Nik and Shadow's book, their story was amazing. The author said the next book would have less pages and apologized for the length. Seriously?! The more the better I say, absolutely love the long lovely stories. For us people that can't get out and are mostly in a recliner reading is one of my escapes. So , don't shorten the stories! Please! So worth the wait, well done!

Buckle Up For This One!
This book is an emotional roller coaster! About the time you think things may work out...nope, Ms Hunter keeps throwing a new twist into things. I was sobbing at one point and I have a headache from ugly crying while I’m writing this review oddly with a smile on my face. These two characters Nik and Shadow have tragic past and have a lot to overcome. Their love shines through and helps ease the way through their many trials. This book is full of action and suspense and really hot steamy scenes. I really enjoyed this one.

OMG this was unbelievable!!! Words just can't really explain how GREAT!!!
I was interested in the short description and I thought it could be good. Wow
It's amazing!!! I cried, I laughed, I was so enthralled with the two main characters!
The plot twists were fast and kept going right to the last page. Really sooooo entertaining. I don't think it needs a sequel because it was so fully satisfying.
But I will be looking for more of her books!!! Thank You for giving us such pleasure.

Wow. Heart strings pulled. Have tissues handy.
I have been reading this series and love them all. This one really pulled nearly every emotion in me out. Another very unlikely love story. Nikki is a shattered and lonely soul. Shadow has no memory before 5 years ago. When they meet explosions occur. Fighting demons and demonii are something both excel at. He is the unwanted son of 2 gods. She looks human but is not completely. Even though they finally admit to loving each other, fights and misunderstanding happen. Just when everything is right disaster happens. You must read this to
find out what happens.

Georgia Lyn Hunter is one of my favorite authors. Her Fallen Guardians series is unique. Nik's the unemotional slayer who falls for a very emotional Shadow. Her past is unknown and his is so full of darkness. Their journey to protect the innocents from demons finds them both facing their pasts and those who want them destroyed. There are definitely unexpected twists and turns to this story and I couldn't put it down.

OMG... This book was well worth the wait. Once I picked the book up, I could not put it down. What a roller-coaster ride. I laughed, cried and at one point, my heart just stopped. I loved Nik and Shadow's journey to find each other and the strength of their love. Georgia Lynn Hunter did an amazing job, pulling you into the story and bringing the characters to life. I cannot wait for the next book in the series. I highly recommend this book.

This is a great fantastic addition to the series. The length is long the characters are well defined and the story keeps you reading.
Nik is a living a nightmare he can't get out of because of his cures. Meanwhile shadow has been thrown into a living nightmare of her own. They both need each other but their past just won't let them have moment of peace or togetherness. They both are torched, lonely and afraid of what h at will come if there past catches up to them both.

Another compelling guardian story - I have really enjoyed all of the books in this series and this one did not disappoint. There is such chemistry between Nik and Shadow. The story keeps envoling and the twists and turn bring new challenges for the two. I could not put this one down until I had finished it. Can't wait for the next adventures with the guardians.

Luckily the author knew better and gave us the HEA we were looking for. Nik and shadow are super cute and I love how shadow is such a badass, I can totally see her becoming a guardian later on. Actually a few of the guys mates would make great guardians, here's hoping. Dying to know which warrior is next to find his HEA.

I have loved every book in this series. Like the others, this book had me tearing up at some places, but this one, the heartbreak was felt for so long that I am still working through all of the emotions that Georgia Lyn Hunter put me through in this one!

Love this book! But then I love all her books. She has so much action in her books that you never get bored ,even when their long. If you have never read a book by this author DO! THEIR GREAT! and the men are HOT and the sex oohlala. Will not disappoint.

OMG... This book was well worth the wait. Once I picked the book up, I could not put it down. What a roller-coaster ride. I laughed, cried and at one point, my heart just stopped. I loved Nik and Shadow's journey to find each other and the strength of their love. I really love the path these two traveled together. There were surprises I never saw coming. I don't think I will ever get tired of stories about these protectors of humans on Earth. Each new book in this series is getting better and better. Can’t wait for the next book, and don't make them shorter - the stories are perfect the way they are!

I can’t get enough
I have had more fun reading this series than I’ve had in a couple of years. I’ve been in public receiving very strange looks when I bust out laughing from something I’ve read. I say let them stare, the book is too good to put away.
I have had more fun reading this series than I’ve had in a couple of years. I’ve been in public receiving very strange looks when I bust out laughing from something I’ve read. I say let them stare, the book is too good to put away.

Amazing
This was my favorite book so far, don't apologize for long book, I'd rather have a long one they are better the end I g aren't rushed, usually a film and I loved nik and shadow. Your books keep getting better! I can't wait for the next one.
