I usually breeze through books pretty quickly, but I took my time with this one and stuck with 30-50 pages a day, taking copious notes and cross referencing the references, which is over 150 pages long! I was delighted to see such a well researched and updated book on the topic of immunity. I was seriously giddy to read this each night, after my children were in bed.

This book covers the topic of immunity thoroughly and in an engaging manner. I do have a strong love for research in science based subjects, especially microbiology, so this was right up my alley, however, I felt like this was laid out in a fairly understandable language for the average reader. It is a bit hard to tell how it would come across for someone without a strong science base, but the author usually reiterates points in simplified terms, after expounding on details, and there is a decent amount of repetition throughout as well. Not to the point where it is too redundant, but enough to help important points stick.

I loved how the book connected back to many health issues that I have and that the author has a proactive approach to holistically treating issues naturally, when possible. Scientifically, I found this book to be extremely neutral and unbiased, which can be a big conundrum in science based books. He doesn't cherry pick data, but brings up when there have been conflicting studies or if sample sizes were small or in mice, so applications could be different for humans.

I was delighted with this book and am so excited to check out others by the author as well! I thought this book was extremely informative and the perfect nonfiction read to help relax in the evenings (if you love science).
