So much fun, full review tomorrow when I'm at the laptop.

Tanya Chris pitched this book just perfectly. It could have easily gone another way, with the reader finding it hard to sympathise with Orion, who really was a self-proclaimed attention whore but he was actually a sweetie at heart.

His idea to build up his Instagram following by running a #12datesofchristmas campaign was inspired, until the point he met Gustav on the first day! I loved seeing how he slowly began to realise the fake persona

The Most interesting parts of this short story was all the Swedish references and the love interest being named Gustav. The rest I could live without.

Orion is wanting to do something that will sky rocket his Instagram account, allowing him to quit his day job. He decides on doing #the12datesofchristmas, where he will go on 12 dates, all chronicled on his Instagram, and pick someone on New Years Day to be his true love. He teams up with another social influencer who agrees to be his pick, so both can fake a relationship and gain popularity in the process. However on his way to the first date, Orion meets a man on the train who he

12 Dates of Christmas is a contemporary holiday get-together story by Tanya Chris. Even though the narration is in third person, we stay with Orion for the book. Predictably, this gave me, as a reader, a very good idea of Orion’s motivations and struggles. And he does struggle with the attraction he feels for, and feels is reciprocated by, Gustav. I thought that Orion’s inability to tell himself “no” where Gustav is concerned was pretty relatable. Their first meet

This s is an entertaining short story that is easily read with n one sitting. I enjoyed the creativity the author had with incorporating the song The Twelve Days of Christmas into date ideas. This is a great story, perfect for the holiday season.

On the one hand Gustav seems like a super sweet guy but on the other hand, Orion comes off like a shallow asshole. So this one’s not for me. :)

This is a cute novella underling the reasons people need to remember what you see on social media and what influencers show you isn't always real! Gus is real and he can see that Orion is fake. Hard to reconcile the Orion of IG with the one with Gus. It's a bit of insta-love but it's Christmas, so I'll take it. ...more

👨‍❤️‍💋‍👨 Short, some steam & a serious message🙂

This novella-length MM holiday romance had a serious side to it as Orion, an internet influencer, examined his career versus personal goals. The whole creation of an idealized persona to attract followers and sponsors ended up showing its harmful and negative side and calling his priorities into question.

As Orion dug himself deeper and deeper into a hole of lies catering to what he thought his public wanted I really did not like him very much. He us

12 Dates of Christmas was such a sweet and wonderful novella by Tanya Chris. She is a fabulous author and I always make sure to one-click on her books. The 12 Dates of Christmas takes the song "12 Days of Christmas" and turns it into a sweet series of dates for Orion. Orion's master plan is to become a famous social media influence as he blogs and posts about all of his dates to his small base of followers.

It was interesting to see how each day was interpreted by Orion and how each date fit int

Lies and influences

While this novella was about Orion changing the way he went about social media and relationships after the people he meets and the things he does, it was awfully hard to like the guy for most of this story. Orion is so hell bent on becoming an influencer that he has lied to make himself the most appealing front that he believes will get the followers. His lies are about his brother, his sexuality, his interests, his just seems to keep building. He is so c

It was a fascinating story and so, so real, because this is what this generation is doing. Everyone is an influencer and live their life on Instagram - but that life is so fake, that they don't know how to live otherwise.

The whole 12 date with 12 different people to find The ONE, and post all the perfect date photos on instagram, than all of a sudden fall in love with the last person - but keep it a secret that it's all fake. Yeah.

I was excited to read this story, Orion's character was interest

This is such a fun Christmas romance. You have to feel sorry for poor Orion initially. He thinks he has the perfect plan to make himself a star and even lines up a fake boyfriend, model to make sure his story ends the way he wants it to. We of course, as the reader also expect the fake boyfriend to become a real one until Gustav shows up and changes everything. That's when the real fun starts as Orion tries to have his cake and eat it too. Unfortunately, Gustav is the adult Orion doesn't want to ...more

I really enjoyed this sweet short story with dates based on the 12 days of Christmas. Orion was not a terribly likable character to start. He was very self-focused and only interested in achieving fame and fortune on the Internet. (Dare I say shallow?) He has the perfect plan, complete with a planned fake relationship with a co-conspirator at the conclusion. Then real love rears it's head and Orion has to decide if fake fame is better than true love. It's a quick, light read as Orion reevaluates ...more

Okay this may not be the heartwarming family Christmas story but it is much better. There is so much fun in this story as I read about the struggles for Orion to figure out what kind of attention and relationship he wants. His meeting Gustav and running into him again and again was funny to imagine especially the dressing room. Them together as Orion tries to justify spending his time with Gustav are the awe moments for me. His arguing with himself over what to do with his “dates” made me more t ...more

A short holiday reading. Orion is anxious to be an “influencer” unfortunately our best laid plans often have a mind of their own. Meeting Gustav derails his plans and what happens next is the basis for this story. They’re cute together. His story has some mild moments of concern as some of Orion’s dates wanted to change his rules, has some awkwardness as Gustav honestly pointed out Orion’s deceptive actions but all in all it has a good HEA as the story concludes. I voluntarily reviewed an arc of ...more

A sweet holiday romance

What an unusual take on the 12 Days Of Christmas. Taking the iconic song and making it the storyline for a book was an incredibly smart idea. It was interesting to see how each day was interpreted and fit into Orion’s master plan. The relationship between Orion and Gustav was a rocky one but it was nice to see them get their HEA. I will admit I was not a fan of Orion for most of the book but he did redeem himself at the end. This review is an honest and unbiased reflection

Interesting concept and an interesting read for a holiday short but it was just an okay read for me. I found it REALLY hard to like Orion but Gustav was oh so sweet! Normally I like characters like Orion, ones that aren't very likeable at first but end up having redeeming qualities. Sadly, I struggled with him. Maybe if this story was longer and I got to know him better I would have eventually ended up liking him.

Whew, I think I am just a tad too "old" for this story. I don't consider myself old but sometimes there are in your face reminders that I'm definitely not in on it anymore.

I just got an Instagram account this year. I only did it to follow some crafty/decor type people but I do see see the Influencers etc. and really, well, yeah, It's easier just to say I'm too old.

So, this story really missed the mark for me and I never really liked Orion and feel that Gustav should have run ve

I'm a sucker for Christmas stories,so,if you're like me and want a great, ultimately heartwarming,Christmas romance then look no further than this.
I don't want to give spoilers for this, I want to recommend you dive in and follow Orion through his 12 dates of Christmas. Will he get his happily ever after? You'll just have to find out.

I found this to be a fun quick read. Sadly, it reflects a reality that is rampant in society today. The life of a “Social Media Influencer” and the self respect tied to the amount of followers and the journey to chase more even if they feel the need to lie and create fake stories for more and more attention.

Orion learns about himself on this #12daysofchristmas story. It was well written and a good Holiday read.

A short story of a sweet Christmas for Orion. He is an Instagrammer, popular and in need for more so he can quit his day job. Gustav blows those plans away. I liked the happy ending and the lesson learned. I didn’t like Orion very much at the beginning though but I warmed up to him. Gustav was a sweetheart 💙

A story with a message for all of us and at the right time of year. This is a story of getting what you thought you wanted and find out it's not your hearts' desire! It took
Orion a minute to find out he didn't need 12 dates or IG to find true love. It found him. Great thanks to Gus for sticking around until Orion had his lightbulb moment. Uplifting. All that glitters is not gold!!

12 Dates Orion has set up, but on his way to the first date he meets the man, that will be his forever. But having set up the 12 dates to get a bigger social media profile, he continues on with his plan, but seemingly to fall more in love with Gustav with each passing day.
Great read. Entertaining and Enjoyable.

I read and voluntarily reviewed an arc of this story. This one is short, funny, and filled with Christmas cheer. Orion struggles with relationships and his way to figure out what will work for him is a holiday twist like speed dating. Enter Gustav into the equation and .... well I suggest you grab this and find out.
Super cute plotline

I loved the premise of this holiday short. The social media image vs real life juxtaposition was pertinent and the entire story was cute. I did wish I had more time to got to know Orion apart from his influencer persona because I think I would have liked him better and had a chance to really root for him, but overall a nice, quick read.

I want a Gustav.

I always enjoy Tanya Chris stories and this is a very good one. I love all things Gustav and I relate to him so much. Orion? Not so much. It's a credit to the author, though, that they wrote Orion so realistically that I instinctively cringe away because I'm not a fan of influencers. I am a fan of Orion's choice in the end, though. And I seriously love Gustav.
