“I’m going to kiss you now.” Those were the most beautiful words a man had ever spoken to me. They were the start of my obsession. And the start of my life getting turned upside down. That night in the club, I was celebrating my new success (and luck) because I'd finally landed an investor for my budding company. I had no idea the hot stranger who would tempt me back to his place would end up being the guy who was cutting my checks. Lark is everything I want in a man, but that doesn't matter. Not at all. Because mixing money and emotions is a sin, and when you toss in the fact his ex-wife is his business partner, you'd have to be insane to think love is possible. I should say no when he locks us inside his office. I shouldn't spend the night while his ex is trying to destroy my reputation. I really shouldn't let his lips gets close when he whispers, "I'm going to kiss you now." But I guess I'm insane. Because I do.
So I have loved every one of Penny Wylder's books that I have read so far. Except this one. The writing was as good as always. The steam level was off the charts, as per usual. I just HATE super angsty stories. Then to top it off my biggest pet peeve is when so much of the drama could've been immediately fixed if not for a simple conversation. I get so mad when when I'm yelling at my e-reader, "just go freaking talk to him!! GAH!". This is why I steer clear of YA. I have enough craziness going on in real life to enjoy having my guts churning and negative emotions getting me all wound up from a book. I read to relax and escape, not get mad.
So I feel bad. It's a 'It's not you, it's me' kinda situation. Cassidy was smart, independent, and determined. Lark was reliable, sweet, and sexy. They had hot explosive chemistry. But with all the issues, I feel like they spent half the book apart and miserable. Half of the steamy love scenes were them dreaming about being with each other with these sad undertones. Then Cassidy started seeing a therapist, Lark was already seeing a therapist, and we got to read about her working through her issues. I mean how unsexy, and not really what I was looking for to read to blow off some steam and relax.
Penny Wylder is one of my all time favorite contemporary authors. I was so happy Cassidy and Lark kicked and fought their way through all the drama to find their HEA in the end. It was just a little too much drama and struggle for me.
Even though this is an ARC, I will always shoot you straight. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
So far, I’ve read a few of the author’s work, and although I like this book, it’s not her best for me. I always love her heroes, they constantly make your heart do an extra beat and Lark did that for me. He was hot, sweet mixed with alpha. Cassidy wasn’t bad, she was likable, however; I think it was her that gave me the it was ok vibes. I understood her dilemma, but the want you, then I want you but we can’t but no we can and so on ..... made me a little dizzy. Not that their chemistry wasn’t good because it was.
Overall, it was ok, still likable, and I would recommend but not her best for me.
***I don’t equate these stories to real life. It’s about personal taste and what you would or want to tolerate with the books you read. I know we all have different opinions and preferences with what we read and hope this review was helpful.
Cassidy and Lark meet at a nightclub and hook. Then they're off. Then they're back together. Off, on, off, on. When they were on, they were HOT, but when they weren't they were annoying. Then he has an ex-wife, no wait wife, no ex-wife, no wife. The two of them just made you dizzy.
And I loved her male character. I don't know what it was, but since the first moment when I met Lark, I instantly liked him. And the more I read, the more I fell for him. He was all alpha, sexy, he payed attention, he was protective, kind, he delivered on all fronts: mind, body, soul.
Cassidy rocked. She had a pretty hard life, her mom was as manipulative as she could be and her previous relationship ruined her. She stood tall and made something of herself.
In order to present her products to the world, she needed an investor. Insert Lark. And his so called wife. Ha!
Cassidy and Lark were so beautiful together, I cheered for them the whole time. And I really loved the writing.
An unexpected encounter with a stranger that will take you on emotional journey.
From the moment Cassidy and Lark met there was an instant connection. It wasn’t just a physical connection, they have both experienced something similar in their relationships and that gave them a deeper emotional connection. From the beginning their story took me on an emotional roller coaster ride and I couldn’t help but root for these two the entire time.
Kiss Me Now packs the usual heat that is in Penny Wylder’s books, but this story also is about love and learning to love yourself and not settling. It is a beautiful story and completely hooked me from the first page.
If you’re looking for an office romance that has heat and a deep emotional connection this one is a must read!
Cassidy is a struggling business owner trying to shove her foot into the makeup industry. She's got the creativity, product, know-how, and love for the business, but she lacks the money needed to fill orders and get her name out there. She's finally gotten a meeting to pitch her business to an investor and she's feeling great - her best friend drags her out to a club for drinks and, maybe, a hookup if everything works out. But when the hours grew late and Cassidy didn't really find anyone to head home with, she decides to head home. Enter Lark, who saves Cassidy and a little old man from a mugger in the parking lot. To thank him for basically saving her, she decides to buy Lark some drinks. Their sexual tension is super high and even though Cassidy has her investment meeting in a few hours, they head to his place. After a mind-blowing hookup and overhearing a blowup between Lark and his (ex) wife, Cassidy is surprised to find out that Lark and his (ex) wife are the investors she's meeting with. Drama, miscommunication, more hot hookups, and emotional and mental trauma follow Cassidy and Lark as they struggle with separating business and pleasure and overcoming their own secrets for a happily ever after.
I felt like the relationship between Cassidy and Lark was pretty horrible. Yes, it was hot and they do eventually work through all of their issues and find their happily ever after with each other, but there was so much drama, miscommunication, and back-and-forth between them that it was absolutely exhausting to read. Lark's wife, but not really his wife, was also a raging witch when she wasn't in front of Cassidy in the beginning, but after a while, she showed her other side in an absolutely horrible way; abuse is never excusable and that's sort of what the author did with the (ex) wife's story. The amount of gossip and uncertainty between Cassidy, Lark, and all of the secondary characters was also exhausting. The emotional, psychological, and mental abuse that both Cassidy and Lark suffered in their childhoods and after was also horrible to read and I'm glad they were both able to eventually work through those issues, set boundaries with those who hurt them, and rid themselves of the horrible people they didn't want around anymore. But after all of the struggles, Cassidy's business flourished, and eventually, Cassidy and Lark got their happily ever after.
So, if you enjoy really hot romances with one-night stands or relationships, basically, between bosses and their employees (an investor is almost like a boss), you'll enjoy this book as long as you can look past all of the miscommunication, trauma, and drama that comes with this.

Cassidy is looking forward to her meeting with an investor which would take her company to the next level. Her meeting takes a turn when she finds out that her new investors is the man she spent the previous evening with and if that isn’t complicated enough his partner is his soon to be ex-wife.
Lark was enchanted by Cassidy from the moment he saw her, and he knows that one night was not enough. He knows that getting involved with Cassidy will affect him both personally and professionally, but will they be able to find a way out of the situation they are in so that they can have a future together?
Although the timing of Cassidy and Lark’s relationship was not ideal there is no doubting that they give each other exactly what they need and more.
I felt this book could have been better. I liked it though but I didn't love it. Something was missing. The main characters, Lark and Cassidy met outside a night club while she was getting robbed. They had an instant attraction to each other and hooked up that night. The h was trying to build her cosmetic business. She found out the day after that Lark, the H, was her investor and the person she had hooked up with. She also found out his business partner is his 'ex-wife'. It was awkward that the H and his ex are partners in business especially to the h. It seemed like the ex was still interested in the H but he insists that they are done and nothing was between them. Spoilers....If you don't want to know, don't read. Some people will hate that the H, Lark, was actually still married. Even though he called Sheila his ex-wife, technically they were still married. True he had the divorce papers, but she wouldn't sign them, and he had moved into his own place, but yeah, they were still married. I was fine with that. I did like Lark. He didn't come out and tell the h that he was still married but I do believe he was open with her about his feeling for her. I felt the h was a little back and forth but I must admit they were reasons for it and she did take action to correct her short comings. It wasn't a bad read.
I read this book at the recommendation of a blogger I follow. It was disappointing to say the least. I’m all for steamy romance novels but that’s not really was this was. Steamy, yes but so much so that it lacked really good content. I’m no prude but I had to skip a couple of chapters because I became bored of only reading about the sex. The little storyline that was there was lacking. Sorry but I wouldn’t waste my time if your looking for a truly good story with some steamy scenes mixed in.
I was looking for a mindless billionaire romance to read so I began this with quite low standards. The writing is engaging, the heat is there and pulls you in. I was invested to see where this whole thing with Cassidy and Lark would go. What took stars off was the high level of drama and angst. I mean if we mapped the story on a calendar we'd see them hook up then immediately after argue/fight/decide it was a mistake/come to some huge realization about why they can't be together. This happened way too often and I can't stand that type of repetitiveness.
If you're not hooked from the first chapter then you don't know great writing. Lark and Cassidy are relatable characters and I love how their story doesn't go straight to the HEA. Such a great read. I look forward to more
This book was not my favorite from this author but there were definitely some really good parts. I didn’t like the questioning of the marriage and finally getting an answers quarter of the way into the book. I did like the ending however.
Lark and Cassidy were hot from the start . They both have broken pasts and found each other. It took a while for trust to build and both pasts come back but I'm the end they find a way back to each other . Great amazing wonderful book . Just awesome great job Penny

Love Love Loved Kiss Me Now by Penny Wylder! Cassidy and Lark were simply amazing together. There was no denying their chemistry was off the charts hot! Once I began reading, I simply could not stop. I stayed up most of the night because it grabbed me and would not let go. Very well written and well done Ms. Wylder. Definitely recommend!
This book ended up being a much better read than I expected. It was just kind of kind of average at first but got more interesting and emotional in the latter part when certain truths were revealed. I liked both Cassidy and Lark but they have a lot of baggage which affects their on again off again relationship. Cassidy has plenty of issues but she has a lot of strength too. The thing that I was most touched by was the vulnerability of Lark. He's a man who appears to have everything but nothing is as it seems. I enjoyed this book. It is a nice love story with a good HEA.

I LOVED this super sexy billionaire romance. This was Cassidy’s story but my heart went out to Lark. Nothing seems to work out for him but he loves deeply. His connection with Cassidy is quick and intense but is put to the test due to his not quite ex-wife and business partner. I don’t want to give away the ending but I LOVED it. It’s nothing that I’ve seen in a billionaire romance before.

Mixing business and pleasure is never a good idea, right? Add an ex-wife in the middle and get ready for some drama!
To say that Cassidy and Lark’s story is a bit complicated is an understatement. But when I read their explosive and hot first encounter, that didn’t matter much to me. Penny Wylder sure knows how to grab your attention and draw you into the story from the first chapter.
I really liked the main characters. They are both good people with complicated past and lots of baggage. But it was interesting to see them overcome this and get stronger and more confident. And of course, their chemistry is so strong that they made me come back for more and more. Their steamy scenes? Off the charts.
The only thing that bothered me a little was that they were very repetitive in their behaviour. And this made the story really angsty. As the story progresses, you can understand the reasons why they do what they do. So leaving that aside, I had a good time reading Kiss Me Now.
If steamy, complicated and angsty workplace romance is your thing, you can't miss this great read!

Kiss Me Now features a complicated business and personal relationship between Cassidy and Lark. His soon to be ex-wife/business partner and her mother help to create drama and emotions in the storyline. This is a great office romance with well developed characters and plenty of steamy attraction.

This book should come with a warning label for the temperature and blood pressure raising scenes!! Lark and Cassidy caught feelings from the word go despite their background dramas going on. I need therapy after reading it. The love story was good but all of the profanity could have been left out.

Great read from Penny Wylder about a chance meeting between Lark and Cassidy, that both Cassidy and Lark come with emotional baggage from their previous relationships and have to learn to let go and grow stronger and love themselves again. The chemistry was sizzling, mixed with emotion and very entertaining. An absolute must read. their relationship real was emotional, romantic and sweet.

Kiss Me Now was a sexy and beautiful story about breaking away from the comfort of the past to a better future.
Cassidy just wanted a night out before she pitched her makeup line to a business that could help her get it off the ground. One night that ends in a sexy night with a man who saved her from being assaulted. Waking up she hears another woman's voice and assuming the worse she bolts only to come face-to-face with him during her meeting. Now she's working side-by-side with him as she launches her business and reaches for her dreams.
There were a lot of sexy scenes in this story that I think I would have loved if they weren't in like every chapter. I also would have loved if Cassidy would have just had an actual adult conversation with Lark instead of constantly rejecting, hurting, and running away from him. Just a lot of unnecessary drama that could have been solved with a simple conversation instead of sex.
That being said, this was an enjoyable story with lots of unexpected drama and interesting characters.
