This is the first in a new series Nosey Parker mystery series. Jodie (nicknamed Nosey) Parker has moved back to her hometown in Cornwall to start a new catering business. Jodie was a met police officer in London and decided to leave the force to ease her-daughter Daisy’s worries. She decides to step into a local department store Penhaligon’s and runs into an old friend from school Tony Penhaligon (a boy she dated briefly for 2 weeks as a teenager). I am familiar with Fiona Leitch’s other books, Dead in Venice and Murder Ahoy, both which blew my socks off—laugh out loud funny! So, when I heard she’d written a new cozy mystery series, I have to tell you I had very high expectations. I was NOT disappointed. Not only did I find this first book in the Nosey Parker mystery series fantastic, I can’t wait for the next book! This author has a way with words (witty, charming, all of it) that not only keeps you glued to the pages but also laughing ou ...more

You can have the girl leave the police but the police won't necessarily leave the girl! Jodie Parker has policing in her blood but she has given up her job in the Metropolitan Police, retrained, and moved with daughter back to her home town in Cornwall.

All is going well, Jodie has set up a new catering company and has her first clients; old school friend Tony and his bride to be, Cheryl. When a body is found on the morning of the wedding Jodie is introduced to the new Detective Chief Inspector

The author has a way of plunging you right into this book and making you want to be right there in the action. Her characters are realistic, but not predictable. There are lots of things happening in the book to make you think you’ve found the guilty party. She also does an excellent job of describing the locations in which parts of the book are set. I especially like the way the main character’s mother and daughter are included in the sleuthing. This is the first book in the Nosey Parker Cosy M ...more

A good start to a fresh new cosy series. Jodie (Nosey) Parker has come home to Cornwall after serving with the Met in London. Worried Cornwall will be quiet and boring, she stumbles onto a murder straight away. Having retrained as a chef, she finds it very hard to stick to cooking, and actively ( to the dismay of dishy DI Withers) starts sleuthing. DI Withers has Tony, Jodie’s one-time boyfriend in the frame for murder, but Jodie knows he couldn’t possibly have done it, could he.?

Can you get a better name for an ex Met police officer, now caterer, that may be missing being a policewoman, than Jodie "Nosey" Parker! Jodie is back in her home Cornish village and the nickname has been revised immediately and before long you see just how justified it is.

It is also refreshing for a cosy mystery to have someone who is not a complete bumbling amateur when it comes trying to clear her old friends name, and actually has a good sense about her. But she is also not trusting the loc

Murder on the Menu is the first in the Nosey Parker series. When I saw that it was a cozy mystery being offered by One More Chapter, I scooped it up.

Jodie “Nosey” Parker has moved back to her Cornish birthplace with her 12-year-old daughter, Daisy in tow. After a decade as a cop in London and a divorce from her cheating husband, Nosey was anxious for a fresh start and a new career as a caterer.

It doesn’t take long for Nosey to be caught up in privately investigating the murder of her childhood

Very enjoyable first in a new cozy mystery series by Fiona Leitch.

We are introduced to our heroine, Jodie (aka Nosey) Parker, who has left the bright lights of London and her job at the Met to return to her childhood home in Cornwall and a new life as a caterer and chef.

As in all of these types of mysteries Jodie finds herself almost immediately immersed in local life and offering to cater for the wedding of an old school pal and one time love, Tony.

Full of humour, laugh out loud cosy murder.

Jodie returns to her home town in Cornwall with her 12 year old daughter after giving up her job with the MET police.
Her first job is catering for her old boyfriend Tony's wedding, then Tony's ex wife ends up dead at the venue.
Jodie finds it hard keeping her nose out of trying to find the murderer.

A great read full of humour and great lovable characters definitively recommend this lovely cosy murder book, looking forward to reading more of her books.

This book totally took me by surprise. I have to confess to being a little in the dark about this ‘cozy Murder’ genre and have expected it to embrace gentler and possibly a little blander reads. This one is neither bland nor gentle - it has bounce! From start to finish I totally enjoyed myself! Jodie is an ex-cop turned cook, ex-Londoner now Cornwall dweller. Having been caught up in some dangerous incidents on duty in London, she has promised her daughter Daisy to avoid danger in future. Of cou ...more

This is the first book in a new cosy mystery series. I am not familiar with this author and thoroughly enjoyed this book.

It was exactly what you want and expect from a cosy mystery. Wonderfully written characters, funny and charming, witty, fabulous setting and scenery and an easy to follow entertaining storyline.

I will be looking out for boom 2 in this series and I recommend for cosy readers.

This was exactly as described on the cover - "a cozy mystery novel". In terms of the 'mystery' there were no clues to solve, nothing to work out, no blood, no frenzy - it was a nice story with fun characters to just enjoy rather than participate in - exactly like it said. It was easy reading and light-hearted escapism done well. And, there was plenty to keep you attention in form of the characters and humour.

I particularly loved the family dynamic between the three generations of Parker women,

Murder on the Menu is the first in the new Nosey Parker cozy mystery series set in Cornwall.

This was a cute story that kept me guessing until the end. Unfortunately, that’s about all I can say about the good points of this book.

Cornwall is such a beautiful part of the world yet all I know about the setting in this book is it’s a small town and there’s a beach. There wasn’t any scene building like you normally find at the beginning of a cozy series. I also felt that, more than not, the sto
