Cupcakes & Crumbs tells the story of five women, five friends who haven't seen each other for a long time and now they meet again for the sad death of their ex employer.
Bria, Missy, Juliet, Nell and Selena have worked together for a Summer at Bria's aunt cupcake shop, easily becoming the best of friends other than just simple collegues. They were young and they had a lot of dreams that kept some of them away from their hometown of Berry Lake, they didn't keep in touch with each other but when t

It’s been a while since I got to read a Melissa McClone novel, but I always enjoy her books. Cupcakes & Crumbs is no exception. Right away, I was fully engaged with the five friends and their stories, their renewed friendship, and the cupcake shop that brought them together in the first place, so many summers ago.

Each of the five main characters are layered and intriguing – drawing you in to their story and their struggles… and their relationships. Because the author’s writing style is so warm a

Cupcakes & Crumbs by Melissa McClone introduces the Berry Lake Cupcake Posse, five friends who reunite and rediscover the sweetness of their friendship. At the beginning, it was difficult to keep the characters and their stories straight. However, as the story progressed, it became easier to switch between the narratives.

Each woman in the Berry Lake Cupcake Posse struggles with her own issues – be it a crumbling marriage, a matchmaking mother, the loss of a beloved grandmother, or something else

Cupcakes and Crumbs is a story of five friends that come back together after the death of their mentor, Elise, who owned the bakery. This reconnecting of friendship proves very vital for all of them as they lean on each other for support.

I enjoyed watching these once upon a time work friends spend time together. True friendship is what they had, and Elise brought them together in her life and in her death. Each woman, Bria, Juliet, Missy, Nell, and Selena, have been living their lives- some with

Melissa McClone’s Cupcakes & Crumbs doesn’t exactly start out sweet and crumbly as the cover looks. It’s death that starts the story here with Bria and her dad, who don’t get along I may add, inherits her aunts bakery. And her dad ends up hiring her worst enemy. But Bria knows she has to do something so she calls on a group of friends that have previously worked at the bakery to save it.

This is a complicated book because each of these friends have issues of their own that could sure cause confli

If the passing of her aunt wasn’t difficult enough Bria now finds herself trying to save the bakery that she and her father have inherited jointly. He is more concerned with the monetary value while she wants to ensure that the business she has always loved prospers. To further complicate matters her father has hired Dalton, the man who left her devastated after he proceeded to make her life unbearable after their relationship ended.

What an awesome story. This story definitely has an interesting cast of characters who will keep you entertained. I love the Cupcake Posse. What fun to reconnect with friends you haven’t seen or been in touch with for a long while. I would have loved to have hung out with them when they were growing up too. What love they have for each other. I love to see good things happen to good people, even if we don’t quite know what that might be. Part of the charm of life. I hope some karma will be takin ...more

Thank you in advance to the author, Melissa McClone, for providing a complimentary review copy through Prism Book Tours. A positive review was not required, all thoughts and words are my own.

First off – HOW delicious and delectable is that cover? It looks just scrumptious! In addition, it also brought the book to life. So, you can see how much I really wanted to read this book.

I also LOVED the premise of it. The idea of five friends reuniting after a death, along with saving the cupcake shop re

There’s just something about the combination of cupcakes and friendship that bring a warm, comforting feeling to a book. And such a feeling was stirred when I picked up my copy of Cupcakes and Crumbs by Melissa McClone.
Following the tale of five women willing to do whatever it takes to save their beloved cupcake shop, Cupcakes and Crumbs stars Bria Larson, a woman who recently lost her aunt to cancer and was surprised with inheriting half of the cupcake shop, and her get-rich-quick father was gi

In this first book of the series we get to meet the individuals that make up the Berry Lake Cupcake Posse. This isn't newly formed, rather it was a name given to the group when they worked at the cupcake shop together years ago.

As this book opens Elise Landon, the owner of the Berry Lake Cupcake Shop has lost her battle with Cancer. Her niece Bria has been with her, caring for her and keeping the business running. It's Elise's birthday and Bria isn't sure if the employees would want to continue

Cupcakes and Crumbs is an emotional, tug at your heart strings, sweet women’s fiction story by Melissa McClone, book one in her Berry Lake Cupcake Posse. This is a story about friends who lost touch over the years, but reunite and realize they are stronger together than apart.

This was truly a wonderful read and quite addictive, just like a true moist and delicious cupcake once bitten into hard to stop. Loved the characters and the resiliency of the friendships shared amongst the group and the sense of empowerment and support for one another. It sort of reminds me of the old saying, "one for all and all for one". Meaning, that friendship no matter the time seperation and, or distance that may occur between friends, those factors will not dest

This first book in the Berry Lake Cupcake Posse series is a very good, can’t-put-it-down read, but there are a few caveats to it. First off, be aware that it ends in a cliffhanger. While most of this story concentrates on Bria and the aftermath of her aunt’s passing, each of her four friends...the rest of the posse...are featured heavily in the book. It looks like they’ll each be the predominant character in one of the books, but the group as a whole are intermingled throughout.

This story was about Bri and her four friends Missy, Nell, Selena, and Juliet who worked together in her Aunt Elise's cupcake shop in Berry Lake, Washington fifteen years ago. They've drifted apart and each lived their own lives, but the death of her aunt brings them back together. Some have found success and happiness, others personal loss, and one has sacrificed her self worth for security with a controlling verbally abusive man. I really hope Juliet gets out of that toxic relationship in a fu ...more

I was not ready for this book to end (so it’s a good thing this is the first in a series). Cupcakes & Crumbs follows five women who formed friendships as teenagers while working at a local cupcake shop.

While the death of the shop owner brings all the women together, a common goal draws them close again. These ladies have each followed their own paths in life. Some the ones the planned and others have had to find a new one and I was engaged learning about each of them.

Cupcakes & Crumbs was a pure delight to read and exactly what I would expect from Melissa McClone. I have loved reading her books in the past and this one does not disappoint. It was so much fun to read and getting to know all of the characters. However, it was a little overwhelming trying to keep up with all the characters. Once I was a quarter of the way through, I was hooked and had no problem reading the whole book in one sitting. It was such an entertaining story.

I want to start with a warning that this book is not like the others. The first 5 or 6 chapters bring in new/old characters but almost all of them have sad stories, so between the funeral and their not so happy times, this is a hard start to the book and it doesn’t get better for the characters. If you are looking for a standalone story with a HEA, this is not it.... you will need to read the next instalment where I expect there to be more angst and hopefully some closure. This was a great, flavorful story involving the Berry Lake Cupcake Posse. How nice the gang was all back together through the death of Bria's Aunt Elise. It just felt like Elise was there pulling strings to bring the grown up women together.

This book, like the sixteen flavors in the cupcake shop had something for everyone. Once I had a taste I could not stop reading. The characters were all so interesting with their own stories woven in. I also like that the story will have to continue into ano

This is a new to me author and I loved that I was pulled into the world of these five women and their home town of Berry Lake. Each woman had their own issues but they came together after the death of Bria’s aunt and former owner of the bakery where they had all worked as teenagers.

The push and pull of all the relationships within this town were enough to make me keep turning the pages to see what would happen, although in a few of the early chapters there were too many characters for me to keep

I don't read a lot of women's literature. After reading this book, I think I have been missing out.

The story follows five friends who worked at a cupcake store together as teens and young adults. Life happened and they grew apart. The story begins about 15 years later.

The death of the owner brings them together and they help each other with unique challenges. I loved their relationship and how they complimented each other. They each have strengths and weaknesses, they help each other through som

Cupcakes and crumbs

Cupcakes and crumbs is a book full of friendships with a little mystery throw in. I loved Bria and how she wants to save her aunt bakery shop. Her aunt passed away, in her Will she gives half to Bria and half to Bria father. That does not work too well. I loved how they celebrated her aunt birthday. I recommend reading the book to see what happens to all the characters.

I received a complimentary copy of the book from Prism book tours. This book review is my own opinion.

Cupcakes and Crumbs pulls the reader into the lives of the Cupcake Posse, five friends who worked at the cupcake shop together years ago. There are friendships renewed, romance, family drama, lots of laughs, and some tears. This is a great introduction to the series, and I am looking forward to reading more about these women and their lives. I plan to read the rest of this series and other works by Melissa McClone. Her writing makes reading her works easy as the story flows smoothly.
