Good short story. I enjoy reading stories in the low country.

What a wonderful beginning to a new series! I love all of the characters and can't wait to learn more about them and their journeys.

This is also a story about women and family and that we can overcome anything that is thrown our way with the help of our friends and family.

The one thing I love most about this author is that she take characters and weaves realistic stories for them. Birdie and Hannah (mom and daughter) are hit with life changing news at New Years! This is a novella setting up their story for future reads , cant wait to read more!

This is a great start to a new series by Ashley Farley! She has such great character development. I truly care about all these people that she has created, and I look forward to reading about more of their lives in the coming books.

Another Five Star winner for Ashley Farley. In Muddy Bottom, the author returns to the low country, to Palmetto Island. This is a prequel to a new and wonderful series. We meet Birdie, whose husband has just left her for another woman and embezzled money from the firm where he is a partner. Bebe has a best friend Max, who tries to help Birdie out of the "Muddy Bottom" of being desperate for money, struggling with alcoholism, and trying to mend a broken relationship with her daughter Hannah, who ...more

Another wonderful book by Ashley Farley. You’re hooked from the get go. Nobody writes novels for and about women like Ms Farley. Birdie’s year starts off really bad. Her husband of over twenty years disappears and cleans out their financial accounts and her college daughter is pregnant. And it’s only New Years Day!

This novella is an introduction to the characters in Ashley Farley's next series. Once again, the well-defined personalities of each of the main characters are developed so well that from the beginning they feel like real people, not characters in a book.

Birdie is puzzled that early in the morning on New Years Day, her husband seems to have vanished. He's not in any of the usual places around the house, and all of his personal belongings, wallet, iPad, iPhone are there and his clothes appear to
I was thrilled to find out that Ashley Farley is writing a new Southern series. Muddy Bottom is a prequel novella for her upcoming Lowcountry series, Palmetto Island.

Birdie's husband has disappeared after embezzling money from his law firm and cleaning out the family accounts. He left behind his wife of 25 years and his daughter, Hannah, who was a Daddy's girl and blames her mother for her father leaving. On top of that, Birdie finds out that Hannah is pregnant and so Birdie deal with her pain w

This novella is the introduction to the exciting new Palmetto Island Series by Ashley Farley. I am looking forward to this series!

Birdie’s life is falling apart. Her husband has disappeared, with another woman no less, and after embezzling funds from the law firm where he worked with his best friend for over twenty years. To add to that, she’s just found about her unwed daughter’s pregnancy. When her daughter Hannah goes back to finish her last Semester of College, Bir

MUDDY BOTTOM is a prequel novella to Ashley Farley’s new Palmetto Island series coming in early 2021. It is an introduction to some of the characters we will meet in the next series and I can already tell I am going love these stories! The new year is not beginning well for Birdie Fuller. When she wakes up New Year’s Day, she discovers that her husband of twenty-five years appears to have disappeared, leaving behind everything he owns except all the money in their joint accounts. Birdie Fuller's new year isn't starting out very well. She loses her husband and finds out that he has left town with another woman and embezzled money from his law firm. She also finds out that her daughter, Hannah is pregnant. Hannah has always been close to her father and definitely not her mother. But her father left her too.
Ashely once again takes us on a wild ride through the process of them moving forward. Birdie's friend Max is there for both of them and she seems to have such strength.

I WANT MORE! Ashley Farley has done it again with Muddy Bottom. This novella introduces a new Lowcountry series called Palmetto Island. If you love her books you are sure to love this one as well. Change of Tides, book 2 comes out February 9, 2021. Make sure you ask for a gift card for Christmas to pre-order as some of us might have a tight budget about that time!

I loved Muddy Bottom. The characters were as always believable and not always lovable. I still cared about what was going on and how

Addiction, infidelity, secrets, and lies more often than not rip families apart. This is a story that will hit home with a lot of people, especially in today's time. Birdie's life as she knows it is over and flipped completely upside down. Hannah does her best, but is a daddy's girl that was never close to her mother. I enjoyed reading how their story unfolded, the ups and downs, and everything in between. Reconciliation isn't always in the cards for people, but when it happens it's certainly a ...more

Well folks, she’s done it again. She’s written something and I want more. Ashley Farley is the best!

Muddy Bottom, a novella for her upcoming new book, focuses on the dynamic between a mother and daughter duo. A dynamic made worse by the husband/father leaving without a goodbye. You just can’t predict how emotions and hormones will affect relationships. This story will make you react and have an opinion and that’s what makes reading so wonderful. It allows you to have thoughts and an imagination.

I've read several of Ashley Farleys books and this one didn't let me down! This one pulled me in right from the start, set in the Low Country of South Carolina, I enjoyed the small town charm and the characters with all of their faults included. I had to keep turning the pages to find out what would happen next and was hoping that their lives would be turned around for the better. Now I can't wait for the next book in this series "Change of Tides" to continue on to find out what happens next.

I read this prequel novella in only a few hours and now am anxiously awaiting the next book in the Palmetto Island series!
It has family, addiction, pregnancy, friendship, and survival all rolled into one on Palmetto Island.

Bebe and Hannah are a mother and daughter that definitely do not getting along.
Hannah is only twenty, has gotten pregnant, and wants to keep her baby upon its arrival.
Bebe does not want Hannah to ruin her life and not have opportunities or miss out on adventures. Why can's

Once again, Ashley Farley has pulled me into a new South Carolina Lowcountry series. Great beginnings to another series by this author. It throws you right in the middle of family turmoil and their new beginnings as if you are sitting in the room with them. Cover gives great synopsis. Enjoy the quick read and await the fully story of a family as it grows and moves toward a brighter future while uncovering reasons for past secrets.

Author Ashley Farley aptly named the book in her new series, Muddy Bottom. A story of a family that is in trouble without even realizing it. A missing husband, a wife that gets through her days with the help of vodka and their daughter getting ready to graduate from college with a problem of her own. The title ‘Muddy Bottom’ is a parallel to the muddy relationships in this great book by one of my favorite Women’s Fiction writers.

Life in Palmetto Island, SC is just your normal everyday town.
Where a small town girl with a dad thats disappeared, has a mom that’s an alcoholic and she’s just finished college finds out shes pregnant. She has no plans to let the baby’s father know.
She even has a job offer in California!
Yep, life in a small town.

Well, after reading Muddy Bottom and getting a feel for the lay of the land, I'm certainly ready for the adventure to continue! Being an individual who fought alcohol addiction for many years I can definitely relate to Birdie's thoughts, feelings, and actions. And believe it or not I also had a child out of wedlock at an age younger than Hannah! I cannot wait to see how their relationship, as a new family recovering from hardship, blooms and grows. Ashley Farley first won my heart with Sweet Tea ...more
